Just learning here. Don’t want to request access incorrectly. What is the etiquette? Thx Jeff
If a person has private (locked) photos, only people who are their friends can view them.
What @Carrie_Anne said but I would add to it to clarify that the goal is to then make friends with that person. Get to know them. Not to request their locked photos.
What about people requesting photos after a proposal has been set on your personal number?
I follow my instincts on this one and from being an LMT photos of me are not shared with complete strangers period
Personally, if we’ve never met or the person has not consistently (more than one message) expressed interest in meeting but we couldn't because of location, etc, I won’t accept, as it tends to feel more like curiosity rather than a genuine interest in potentially becoming friends/meeting down the line. Especially if they have no karma and the profile is new. no no nooo thank you. 😭😄
You can’t actually accept a friends request which allows you access until you’ve exchanged a few messages.
Private photos aren't available to friends. Photos in the Friends Only album are automatically available to CC friends.
@WarmandCozy9 I have one private photo so it can be easily shared in messaging upon request. That's the real purpose of the private photos -- allow controlled sharing with others.
My gut reaction: you don't. They're private for a reason. If that person decides to share with you, they will. Otherwise, they're none of your business.
Why do you want to see the private pictures?
Excellent question. I didn’t realize people couldn’t see my photo either because I wasn’t their friend, but then someone wanted to meet with me but only if he saw my picture first. I don’t think that’s right I don’t get it. It’s not about what I look like or don’t look like I’m not ugly by any means but I just wanted a hug. Are people really that shallow?
I’ve often wondered, what is it about a photo that makes a person want to keep it locked? How is it different than the other photos that are not locked and viewed by anyone visiting that profile?
@noteasy I wouldn’t meet anyone in public without having one if not several photos of them. Just a safety thing. I want to make sure the person I’m meeting is the same person I’ve been talking to. Some cuddlers even require a valid id before they will agree to meet in person.
@Carrie_Anne For me it’s that I don’t have my face as a public image. But I’m not a pro. Not sure why a pro who has several public pics would need to have some that were friends only or private for sharing. The only thing I could think is maybe they’re pics with other people in them. But not sure why those would be here either.
I use the Private photos folder as a closet for my seasonal blobfish pics.
@TxTom I should have thought of that as a reason. 😁 I’ll remember for next time.
@mauvefox It makes sense when a profile has no photos at all.

Yes. Absolutely.

I've seen some who dangle locked photos as a carrot to get people to Friend them. 🤮
