Bot accounts?

I've noticed this influx of accounts that have popped up in the last couple of days that all have very formulaic descriptions for no apparent reason. They usually start off the bio saying their best friend(s) would describe them as being some set of personality traits and then describing cuddling preferences or just broadly describing what cuddling is for no reason. Some of them use em dashes which AI text generators are usually associated with. Is this something that people are already aware of and are dealing with? Am I just misinterpreting the situation and is there something else going on?

    No, your analysis is spot on. This happens all the time, and every now and then there is a burst of extra activity. Report them please.

    While yes, it absolutely can be bot accounts, a lot of people use the formulaic responses for a number of reasons.

    • they could be new to cuddling in general and so have no idea what to put in their bio. Those questions are included as prompts when you first set up your account.
    • they may not be confident in writing a good bio, so they may be asking LLMs to help them fill out their profile. That results in a lot of copypasta sounding descriptions.
    • some people interpret and use language more literally than others.
    • (edit to add) some people just use a lot of punctuation, including em dashes 🙋🏻‍♀️

    If there are other context clues that might indicate a fake account, absolutely report it. But if it's just the description sounding a bit off, I personally tend to let it slide - and the mods can tell you I make a lot of reports on new accounts anyway 😅

    I vaguely remember there being prompts when writing your bio, but I don't remember seeing so many people actually using them before a couple days ago and wouldn't understand why they would suddenly start. Liberal use of punctuation is also not always a sign of AI being used either. I guess we just have to use our best judgment when we decide to engage in conversation. I have a distaste for using AI for writing, but as long as the accounts are managed by real people I think it's ultimately fine.

    There definitely is a prompt in writing the bio that says “my best friend would describe me as…” or something like that. But it’s not a required question and it does seem to be a lot of them lately.

    I could easily understand using AI to help write a bio for this site in particular. “Write a description of how it feels to be touch starved and then ask a stranger for intimacy” is probably not something many folks would have a ready response to 😂

    A number of Fake accounts in the last couple weeks passing off Instagram pics as them. Frustrating as waste of time.

    Here are the patterns I consistently see:

    Totally gibberish usernames like gahajzlsy.

    …And just the other day I saw like 5 Joanna profiles all back to back with numbers like Joanna1987, Joanna273747, Joanna blah blah blah. (This is also giving all the Joannas in the world a bad rap).

    And then of course are the overly attractive women with the obvious non selfie stock photo “internet” look, usually with long blonde hair and the AI type dating profile copy having nothing to do with cuddling.

    Rinse repeat, unfortunately.

    I still don’t understand what the end game is for these effing time and resource wasters?! What is it that they hope to accomplish? It’s not even like after I look at their profile they message me with some scam-like behavior. Nothing. I honestly and truly just don’t get it.

    In any event, thanks to all the Mods that have to deal with all that noise. Seems like a never ending energy draining task!

    Yeah, I also noticed in the LA area that there were a bunch of accounts with the same name opened in the same day. I think the accounts don't do anything as long as you don't engage, but I have messaged some accounts that seemed to try to pull some scam on you and got banned really fast, so the moderators are definitely working on it (thank y'all!).

    There was actually a new account that popped up the other day with an especially graphic name. I won't repeat it for obvious reasons but it was a very (AHEM!) descriptive term regarding the condition of their anatomy. of Unsurprisingly, she was banned ASAP.

    There's one particular overly-attractive "person" with an account in my area. No self-summary. I image-searched her profile photo months ago and discovered it was a differently-named Instagram person who lives in a distant region. The account is still up. I don't know why these accounts don't get taken down since it took me all of two minutes to determine that it was fake.

    Lack of profiles and only a single photo is always a red flag to me. Especially if it's not a brand new account

    @FitSmartCuddler Out of curiosity, have you used the report function to bring the profile to the volunteer team's attention?

    Behaviour of the fake profiles vary. Most initiate conversations although some don't, but they almost always try to get you to take conversation off the site immediately.

    Professionals and clients are required to keep conversation on the site until a Booking is made and confirmed, and repeatedly breaking this rule will get you banned. Enthusiasts are very strongly advised to follow a similar protocol. There is no actual need to take messaging off the site at all.

    @kendrayk74 I've reported profiles in the past, I think probably not for this one. It's not the only obvious fake.

    It seems many come to the forum to complain which doesn’t really solve anything. Do you all know how to submit a report?
    One of you said you checked back and the offensively named account was still there. Reporting is the only way the Mods know about them.
    Save to favorites if you want to check later to see if they’re banned.

    @Carrie_Anne exactly 👍. It really is an Interesting dynamic where peeps say omg look at this profile! Well did you report it first or are you looking for attention or what ?

    A “million “!years ago we had this thread about bad profiles and we would post all the bad ones first and then …Eventually we evolved to just reporting them instead of posting them. Maybe we haven’t evolved lol 😆

    An “obvious fake” doesn’t do any good if the mods never see it. No one is scouring and approving or disapproving accounts at random.
    The mods are volunteers who do this in their spare time.

    To be fair, FitSmart did say that he has reported accounts in the past, so I think just choosing not to report one is probably fine. I also wouldn't call it just complaining about it but rather spreading awareness and incentivizes members to report as we are witnessing right here.

    Actually the truth of the matter is that we Mods are all Wizards, that's why we're chosen. We always know when a rule is broken because we can feel the disturbance in the Force. Every few days we meet telepathically to choose a member to annoy by magically directing them towards the rule-breaking profiles that they will find most irritating. Obviously we don't close these rule breaking accounts because where's the fun in that?

    Tbh it's the best part of the job.
