What do you do when you cant get any cuddles?

  • Body pillows and being tucked under the blanket are honestly my favorite kind of comfort 🤍 There’s just something about feeling all cozy and surrounded that instantly relaxes me.

    And the bathtub idea sounds amazing too! As long as you don’t fall asleep in there 😂 then the water ends up doing all the cuddling, and where’s the fun in that?

  • I’m confused - are you asking because you’re not doing a lot of regular cuddle sessions or because you’re going through withdrawal during the day after having sessions?

  • Book a Pro.

  • "Do you remember when we used to sing? Sha-la-la, la-la, la-la, la-la, la-la tee-da..."

  • If no one local then I drive, I have driven an hour or more
    A lot of Pro’s with in an hour drive of me in Tampa, FL

  • Give my stuffed animals cuddles galore

    Sometimes… I like to go for a long drive , alone, in my car 🚘 it’s peaceful and relaxing 😎 if it’s a hot summer day , I put on some sunscreen, hat 👒 , sunglasses 🕶️ and drive to the beach or the lake.. it’s nice to just turn off the phone and turn up the music 🎶 .. 🐴 long trail rides are nice too.. to appreciate nature , smell the roses 🌹 listen to some Jason Aldean, Jelly Roll.. maybe some GD/D&Co ( John Mayer) , Ozzy too! ( great lyrics!) …joy 😊

  • cuddling isn't everything... but it's way ahead of whatever's in second place lol. When I can't cuddle and I need to feel something, I go for a ride on my motorcycle or porsche. Sometimes I'll go for a run and then take a nap, or treat myself to a snack. Lots of ways to feel good in this world.

  • Work, housework, working on my project car , motorcycles, cycling with my dog, enjoying my life in general. While I like cuddling like its not the biggest priority!

    -When I went to yoga routinely, I started to feel at home in my body. This sensation can be as comforting as any cuddle. Plus, partner yoga exists!

    -**Jiu Jitsu. When I was going three times a week, I always felt like my glass was full. The community aspect of joining a gym with a healthy culture can be incredible.

    -You could try a compression sleep pod. Whenever I sleep in this, I don’t remember falling asleep and do so deeply. It turns out, being swaddled in a stretchy blue cocoon completely puts my mind at ease. https://hugsleep.com/products/sleep-pod-move-hood?variant=40581066293271

    -You could try a somatic body scan meditation.

    -Adopt a pet. It can be soothing to have a cat purring on top of your chest or in the crook of your arm against your side.

    -See if there are some contact improv groups in your area. I’m actually looking into this myself. :)

    -Ask to hug your friends and your loved ones.

    -A warm drink. I find sipping my coffee in the morning to be a great comfort. It’s like a hug to me.

    Well since I'm an emotionally stable adult with adequate coping skills and various interests I do other things, because my life and identity doesn't revolve around cuddling ...

    @pmvines 😊

  • In that case I brush my teeth and floss, gargle mouthwash. Put on deodorant and take a nice long shower.

  • Spa treatments. Bath houses, swimming, the gym. Do anything physical.

    @pmvines you sound like my intrusive inner thoughts. 🤐

  • I agree with a few others, it’s important that your life involves a lot and you expand on how you fill your time and sooth yourself.

    But here’s some ideas if you’re looking for similar sensory things, and not just distractions.

    I also noticed some of the ideas offered required having an abundance of expendable income so I tried to think of a good list of things that work for people who don’t have that. Just in case.

    • Weighted blanket. You can buy them used or you can even make them with directions online.
    • Body pillow for sleeping.
    • Pet snuggles, or volunteer at a shelter if you don’t have one.
    • Long hugs from people you trust. Twenty seconds or more if possible. most people stop way too soon.
    • Self-massage. Rubbing arms and legs, giving yourself deep pressure.
    • Free yoga on YouTube
    • Rocking chairs and hammocks. rhythmic movement can regulate the nervous system
    • A really hot bath or shower. Heat does a lot of what contact does in terms of calming the body down.
    • Barefoot on grass or sand if you have access to it. Sounds woo woo, but it works.

    Hope that helps. 🤗

    @BellaAine
    Kinda like that midway point where the angel and the devil on your shoulder shake hands and call it a tie, which is usually my sweet spot

  • The same thing I do every night Pinky.

  • I go for long drives with no destination. Wooded areas. Lakes. Vast fields. Open my truck. Open up the mattress. Lie in it. Sop a glass of wine with some cheese n grapes. Relax n after 3 or 4 hours, drive back into town.
    Or a nice all inclusive all day spa, with dinner. Just laze around.
    Or walk in art life study class and sketch half a day, or paint or sculpt.
    It’s peaceful.

  • @MikeSugs nice pull!! From way in the back room at the WB. 😂

  • Adulting and chatting with friends outside of CC and friends on CC

  • @Goonie4life Yup. Still can’t believe someone took your reference the wrong way. Just like I am not really a cartel and I usually don’t chop off heads…usually.

  • 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    @pmvines 👍👍👍👍👍

  • @TheFunCartel Nah Uh, I remember there was a chainsaw incident in a motel in Miami with a guy named Manny who was a lookout and...Oh wait a minute, that all happened while I was watching Scarface again. My apologies! 😊🙏

    Lol. I agree you aren't cartel material at all. 😆😆😆

  • @MackrellXX I second Jiu jitsu and contact improv!

    Brazilian Zouk is a partner dance that is very huggy and it used to meet all my touch needs back pre COVID.

    I have a strong snacking habit that I turn to when I want to feel comforted.

    popcorn with butter, dill, garlic powder, lemon pepper, and nutritional yeast

    can add a dash of soy sauce too. fantasTIQUE
