Why are you really on here?

  • "If this place was really just about strict platonic touch and not sexual at all, then why don't men on here just cuddle each other?" This is a valid question. I think my counter would be something like ... who cuddles with their own family members? (I imagine maybe some do, but I for one would not).

The touch is platonic and non-sexual, but it is (or at least can be) intimate and vulnerable. And I think some men may have a hard time doing that with other men.

In any case. Holy crap 168 unread messages and over 40 blocks. That is truly insane. I cannot imagine what it's like signing up for this site as a woman. Sounds overwhelming.

  • Every time someone makes a post referring to CC as an app, I’m like really? There’s an app???

  • @trixster

If this place was really just about strict platonic touch and not sexual at all, then why don't men on here just cuddle each other?

This topic was beaten to death here a year ago, but maybe the quick and easy answer is it's the same reason many women prefer to cuddle with men. You cuddle with who you are comfortable cuddling with. Period.

  • I originally came on here seeking out human contact as the world came out of lockdowns. My account creation date is October 2021. I wasn't even seeking physical cuddling as much as something more solid than a random acquaintance.

I did meet someone and we had a great bond for awhile. It did take awhile for that to happen and it hasn't happened since. They moved away, like hundreds of miles away, so that was what ended it.

At this point I'm not that focused on it. If someone is interested I'd welcome it but I'm not expending tons of effort here. I do peruse the forums because some threads are amusing. I look at local accounts but maybe reach out once a year as there's few people locally.

@trixster to your question about why men don't cuddle man. I think you're probably trying to be snarky but I'll answer it. I've been around spaces which are exclusively men and been in those spaces enough I wouldn't trust a man. I know what gets said and how some of them act. I'm never putting myself in that sort of vulnerable position.

  • Pleeease report inappropriate behavior 🙏🏾✨ it makes it easier for all of us here for the right reasons. There are A M A Z I N G people here on cuddle comfort. I try not to let the bad apples ruin my genuine joy of platonic cuddling

  • That's a very complex query with even more complex reply

  • I joined CC several years ago to maintain the grounding effect of touch; cuddling fills in those gaps when I'm not out in the real world working on a relationship.

My approach while on this site has been to 1) maintain high standards for myself, which results in very compatible cuddle buddies, 2) seek quality over quantity, 3) only invest myself emotionally into people I've met, not internet profiles, 4) don't take rejection, disagreement, or Blocks personally, 5) don't pretend to be someone I'm not, and finally, 6) patience, patience, patience.

I joined because someone recommended this as a platonic site for Cuddle enthusiasts (which it was, originally). Since then, it's become something of a de facto Pro site, at least for Men looking to cuddle with Women. In any case, I have had some great cuddle sessions and met some nice people on here. I don't really think of it as much other than that, but I guess some others do. Actual mileage may vary.

  • @trixster said: "If this place was really just about strict platonic touch and not sexual at all, then why don't men on here just cuddle each other?" Because the idea that cuddling is "strictly platonic" is a myth. It doesn't have to be sexual, but it's not "strictly platonic" either. There's an unnamed middle ground. There are plenty of "strictly platonic" acts I would engage in with my teenage niece--chatting, playing a board game, taking her out for an ice cream cone--but "spooning" isn't one of them. Cuddling is physically intimate in a way that playing board games is not. I'm a heterosexual male and not interested in being physically intimate with other men.

  • Hi my name is Zander and I am a cuddle addict. I am on this site looking for a friend someone I can talk to on a regular basis and ask how there day is. My best friends are people who can tell me anything and I can tell anything. I am a person who likes to make others feel better and mostly laugh (usually at my own expense - I am a dorky goofball) Most of my friends are females so there is a definite friendship vibe so that is what I think of everytime I experien e a cuddle moment. Ask yourself one question is losing your friendship worth doing something you will regret??
that is all I have to say, hope everyone stays safe and uses common sense.

  • I think, as far as enthusiast, I mean if they actually wanna cuddle with someone theyre allowed to be super picky. I think i would be if enthusiast were more...responsive I guess. I dont message every enthusiast in my area, ive messaged a couple but I legit dont even expect a response at this point.
Im sure its usually women who get the most dms for being enthusiast, so they essentially get their pick of the litter. Pros do too, obviously, but thats more of a financial thing i would think.

  • I'm on here because I had a dream, in my dream I was wondering if there was a website where you could meet people to cuddle. I live on my own and 2 years ago when I joined I was going through a really tough time. So my subconscious helped me out, I didn't feel that I was in need of cuddles and human touch so much prior to my dream. I've had a really good time on here and made some friends.

  • Unfortunately, that seems to be the experience of many female enthusiasts. When I first signed up I asked someone if this was a dating site as well.

Thankfully once you get past the shark frenzy it gets better. My suggestion is to Mute your account so you can control who messages you. By taking control of that I was able to be selective on who I messaged.

It's a good idea to read the threads on red flags 🚩🚩🚩 as well that will help you stay safe.

One more suggestion is to attend a cuddle group or meet-up event to network & learn consent exercises.

Wishing you safe platonic cuddles 🤗

  • @Kara90

Hi Kara. As @mauvefox mentioned, you are likely being bombarded with all sorts of messages, many undesirable ones, because you are new. I am a pro, not an enthusiast, but experienced the same during my first couple months on the site. In fact, I started to doubt my decision of joining this site because I was beginning to think that the site was an on the DL escort service since I was receiving numerous messages from men interested in non-platonic services. Several of them said that ALMOST ALL of the pros engage in sexual services. I quickly learned that this was not the case and that these guys were just testing me to see what I was all about, being new to the site. They likely assumed I was naive in the hopes that I would also be willing to participate in those activities. Although you aren't being paid for cuddling, I expect that you are receiving messages from people with similar intentions.

While I can't speak coming from an experience as an enthusiast, I would still suggest you give this sire a chance. Once I wasn't the new girl anymore, I eventually met some really great, genuine people through the site who are here for nothing more than platonic cuddling. Of course, there will always be those unwanted messages but, I think that with time, you will find that they are few and far between.

I wish you the very best! 😊

  • Being crystal clear: Zoo food fund. I got a mini zoo and these babies ain’t cheap. Hence why I am here. I have met some interesting folks though and of course some not too savory.

Hope you find the right cuddle buddy!

I got my back injured and have a long way to recovery, the resulting social isolation is finally getting to me. I would be super happy with a platonic cuddle buddy if it's the right fit.

It saddens me that this is such a niche activity it seems, almost like "shameful" or "odd" to outsiders. Nothing wrong with wanting non-sexual human touch and someone to talk to and watch a movie with, maybe develop some genuine connection/friendship along the way.

The dating apps you mostly find people looking for hookups or straight on LTRs, I think cuddling is sort of a nice in-between, not here not there, and as long as boundaries are established and respected, I see nothing wrong with it and wish it was more socially acceptable, because I've seen the other cuddle apps and websites collapse unfortunately.

  • @FitSmartCuddler fully non-sexual, non-romantic cuddling absolutely is NOT a myth. It's the perpetration of your myth that intimacy be reserved for romantic/sexual partners (or those we would choose for those partners) that keeps people lonely, touch starved, and isolated.

Just because you wouldn't cuddle your niece or friends doesn't mean others don't have physically comfortable relationships with their relatives and friends. Most people, especially men, are taught that after childhood the only forms of touch that are acceptable are with spouses/romantic partners. But that isn't the only option, and I'm SO glad that some niches of society are starting to realize that. I can only hope that it continues gaining momentum until people can just learn to be comfortable with intimacy with other people they trust, regardless of gender or orientation.

And spooning is not the only form of cuddling - if that is all you've tried, there is a whole world of platonic touch you're missing out on.

  • I'm in a very honest mood today. I’m here for the entertaining forum read.

  • @trixster Some of us do cuddle other men as well as women. Cuddling for me is about the individual person, and it does not much matter the person's gender, age, race, creed etc. as far as I am concerned. It does seem odd that so many people would message a blank profile though

  • Men cuddle men?

I mean, would this website exist if men generally got cuddled? I know what gender most of the pros are.. respectfully.

  • @tranquilheart & @mauvefox I think we are having similar feelings about all of this, I can totally relate! I'm here STRICTLY FOR THE CUDDLES AND THE COMMUNITY anything else is irrelevant to me.

@kydavid my PTSD and recognizing it needs to be handled with care brought me here. It feels safe to be honest about what I'm going thru, I have also yet to find a real connection.

@Kara90 you did the right thing speaking up about ur experience I know it seems weird and invasive but ur intuition will always tell u what u need to do that's why u came to these forums. I think u have a little more insight and hopefully the confidence to seek what ur truly hoping to find here. I personally just block romantic advances I was semi attracted to one person emotionally I feel but something was grossly off so I didn't care to continue on with them. I am not interested in any romantic or sexual connections that's absolutely not what I came here for. I want the encouragement of others who can understand me and relate to my situation, I want to be calmer in my approach to intimacy and not so anxious to just meet SOMEBODY to start decreasing some of this loneliness I struggle with. I'm not an uneducated person and I'm far from desperate even still my reserved demeanor attracts the wrong type of attention a lot. I refuse to give up, I know my person (or people) are still out there somewhere waiting for me to find them (patiently I hope 🙏🏾)

  • @Kara90 in the words of former Temptation legend Eddie Kendricks "Keep on Truckin baby.. gotta keep on Truckin!" You got this! Every experience is a lesson in disguise 🙏🏾

  • @trixster that’s a great question

@AL3XGage_06 you had a deeply profound and vulnerable answer and I want to thank you for it and appreciate you for speaking to something that isn’t usually spoken about. But one that most women are abundantly clear about.

I think there are a lot of reasons everyone, especially men, are taught not to cuddle. But that doesn’t make any of them true. if you ask the other side of that question, why don’t women cuddle other women, I think you will find that it’s much more likely they will. So why is it “ok” for them to cuddle each other? I absolutely cuddle with my own children. I’ve cuddled with friends. I’ve cuddled with my mother.

It’s definitely true that different people give off different energies. When I’m in this space I don’t want to be a mom cuddling her kids. I want to be a reciprocal adult with another person. And I have a different experience cuddling with men usually than I do with women. But neither one is sexual unless we make it that way. This space is intended to take that pressure off.

Cuddling is definitely intimate. But intimate does not mean sexual.

  • I joined the site to rebuild trust in women. After a toxic marriage, toxic experiences on apps, and not wanting to date or do anything with women, (eventhough friends constantly trying to hook me up, and family breathing down my throat as well). Here seemed like a good place to start. I joined and still took some time before I booked a session.

I do have high walls with women, I am opinionated with politics and the world, seen too much, done plenty to not follow or believe TV and social media. I don't wish my experiences onto anyone.

We all want connection, and need human touch. The more technology is in our lives, the less connected we are, to which causes many more issues.

  • Hey, I’m Ed.

I’m here because I have been keeping up with touchless intimacy and not physical intimacy. I see friends at the bar, go to their parties and really get to know them by participating in activities with them or create new ones. I go out of my way not to have physical intimacy with anyone in my circles, because it’s always fucked up my relationships with my other friends.

When you’re always the new guy (I move around a lot) you’re the first to be trashed from the circle for anything. Physical intimacy has only created conflict between my friends and their fantasy of me and what I need to feel connected to someone.

I’ve not had just about any physical touch with someone for going on 6 years. Besides maybe two brief and uninspired moments that were reminders of my struggles.

I’m not asexual in the slightest, but I have trust issues and people love to play games. I’m not their fantasy, and when I engage physically with someone it’s problematic.

I’ve been putting it off for so long because of my desire to have stable relationships that now I can feel myself crashing out. It’s not a good feeling.

So I’m here to find people who can understand that psychology, respect my boundaries, get to know me a little and maybe a little more, and mesh. Because my body and mind are not going to let me continue to live free of my needs anymore.

I can't see how the site can really work for male 'enthusiasts' because of the demographics and the way it's designed. for @trixster, knowing that every female enthusiast has hundreds of messages, I wouldn't be inclined to come up with long thought out message either particular if the profile is blank(!), as the chance of getting a reply is close to zero.

  • @blackbear3
I would agree, if their profile is blank then that's low effort on their part and someone who isn't invested. also make sure you filter your searches for folks who have been recently active, some accounts are dormant but not deactivated so still show up in your searches and they have not been here and likely won't be for a while.

But as far as a thoughtful message, yes I am inundated with messages, but it's the ones who put in effort that I reply to. 🤷‍♀️ So you don't have to write a novel, but when it's clear that it's not a copy and paste message, that you read my profile (which is filled out) and that there was something about me in particular that you were interested in knowing more about, those are the messages I want to engage with.

  • @Kara90 well said and I couldn’t agree more -I was hopeful that cuddling would be as beneficial for me as the other person but I get a lot of “non messages” just booking requests-people who can’t be bothered to read a profile and or share a photo -and then once session booked I cancel because I get treated like a sw-when numbers are exchanged -I have met maybe 2 who i genuinely have had a good conversation and cuddle with who valued me and my time as much as I valued them -hope it gets better for you as I know there are a still few good ones out there

  • @mauvefox my experience is even with a long and thoughtful message the likelihood of getting a response is still pretty close to zero 🤷‍♂️ but happy to be contradicted! I think I got into one convo and then was ghosted lol. actually makes dating apps seem fun :)

  • So sorry to hear about your bad messaging experiences. Your profile is sincere.

I’ve had good & bad experiences but more of the good… there are souls who genuinely want to connect without wanting to get laid. I understand wanting a photo but some ppl cannot for personal reasons so perhaps asking for photo after initial messaging can help for those profiles that are well written.
