Messages from out of state blank profiles?

Why isn't there a mandatory requirement for people to fill in their profile and write something? I feel like there are a lot of bored timewasters coming to this site now. Just this week I have received 7 messages from blank profiles with no pictures. I understand that some people don't wish to add pictures, however why the blank profile too? They don't say anything other than "hi", or ask me when I'm available. Others simply send a message with nothing but a phone number in it, no hi or introducing themselves or anything. The two things that I've noticed that these accounts have in common is that they all were created this month and are always from out of state. What gives? Surely I can't be the only one being annoyed with this nonsense?

  • @Missy87 I’m not sure how many free membership sites you have visited, but most of them suffer with the blank profile disease. In order to make a site like this successful (this is one of the ways in which this site is similar to dating sites) the site owners try to eliminate barriers that might scare off potential good members. In trying a site for the first time, many would flee if asked for too much. Unfortunately, that allows these totally anonymous users to come out of the woodwork. You have the ability to block users, and I’d suggest you do so.
    I’ve thought of suggesting that the site owners put a time limit, maybe 7 days, for filling in a pofile, but there are issues wth that too. After all, yo pointed out that most of these pests are brand-new signups. Likely the majority of them give up pestering women within 7 days. Again, block them without engaging, I think that scares them off sooner.

  • I can understand someone getting annoyed at this. You always have the option of ignoring the messages and/or blocking the profiles. People who also get annoyed (actually frustrated is more accurate) are people who have their profile completely filled out, have several photographs posted and write long, interesting introductions in their first message but still get no response.

  • I personally find it weird if the person I'd from another state and th dr e reaching out to cuddle it's a lil excessive to want to travel cross country *to meet

    @DeathbyChocolat I see your point. But you are writing from the perspective of someone in a very large state. AZ is more than 10X the size of my little state. From my home in Massachusetts, I can reach Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Maine all inside of about an hour's drive. So "out of state" is not as big a deal for some of us as it is for others.

    I also travel great distances for both work and pleasure. If I'm going to be visiting a state on business or on vacation, I will often reach out to some of the cuddlers I'll be passing along the way. I have so far met and cuddled people in 12 different states. Farthest from me (so far) was Ohio. But I'll likely be doing California next year. I think it would be cool to cuddle someone in each of the 50 states. Since I plan to visit all 50 anyway, why not? So don't automatically write off inquiries from distant places! ;-)

  • @Missy87 has a very valid point. I've also been getting many out of state visits and messages. I've wondered why because I have a tractor as my picture! I don't often take the time to look at their profile truthfully I just send a nope response and move on. But if their profile name is interesting in some way or if they try a second time I will look at them. I know I'm no longer scrolling along the new cuddler ticker so my assumption is they do a national search of who's online and shoot out a message.
    Much like craigs list, I've also noticed that a lot of them just want to waste my time. Often it is indeed the new ones far away from North Dakota that contact me. Often late at night when I'm here to respond to messages. A fishing expedition for free phone sex. It's not welcome, or normal for these men to contact an out of stater and ask for a phone chat, a long conversation, or anything else that requires time. Almost none of us do this professionally and we just don't have the surplus free time to be entertaining some bored man 500 or a 1000 miles away. Those that are professional need to use their limited time on legitimate inquires and again, not to entertain a bored person wanting mental or physical stimulation.
    As @quietman775, states, I do know that with our oil, wind, and lignite industries as well as two hospitals and a cutting edge energy industries learning center in my area that many men do travel here for work and I am more than willing to entertain them if they stop in Bismarck because if I can't drum up cuddlers locally why not get them where I can. So I do ask them if they travel for business and if they ever come near my location.
    @deathbychocolat is correct that unless they plan on having a valid reason for contacting you such as traveling it's just an annoyance. As an enthusiast it's personally annoying to get a message with nothing more than are you available____? It often makes me mutter to my screen where does it state I'm for hire?!? I may regret posting this publicly, but I just am incapable of ignoring a query no matter how ill worded or lazy it is. It's my way of acknowledging the optimism/hope or courage to reach out to a stranger. So I will ALWAYS respond and that just takes time I could be using toward someone who's waiting for an answer or making arrangements to meet me.
    @quietman775 I'll volunteer for North Dakota on your 50 state cuddle odyssey! :) Same offer to any others traveling to the high plains! Send me a message.

    @UKGuy - really well said!

  • My profile is blank because I'm not ready to meet up with anyone yet. I thought no one would contact me with a blank profile but was mistaken, perhaps because I'm female. I've been reading through the forum, trying to figure out how to try this in a way that I feel safe.

  • First, a lengthy introduction does not mean good. Ted Kaczynski was very verbose and generously sent gifts through the mail. Second, I do not post my pic because I work with and for some very conservative people who pay me handsomely but by their very nature would draw the wrong conclusions if they saw me on this site. I send my pic when I send my initial message to a cuddler. Also, I take about 120+ plane flights a year. I am constantly out of state even in my own state because of my job.

    Now I am not saying this is better, I am just explaining there are reasons why people do things they do. Here is a novel suggestion—just ask them why they have a blank profile next time. Even I have a few words on my profile, so it is not too much to ask for an explanation.
