I think my Tabby really wanted to be a mother / big sister. She immediately loved the little kitten I found in a parking lot and they were instantly cuddling ever since.

Both girls and rescues ❤️The “ baby” above will turn 2 years old this month , she is special needs.. The tuxedo is 12 years old, I adopted her about six months ago.. she is very playful .. I had to separate them at first, but, now they are friends… not besties, but, they get along 🐈⬛ 🐈⬛ I am on vacation now and they are with me 😃

I have a funny problem with my cats and my brother’s cat(all adults) where, once they’ve settled in, they give each other space and calm down. But then someone decides they are comfortable enough to play and the other cat(whichever of the three it is) thinks they might be getting attacked and then there’s a hissy misunderstanding. 🤦🏻♂️
One thing that’s important for cat introductions(on top of the other things mentioned like pacing and such) is that cats need to feel like everyone is part of the family. Mixed Litter box scents and common meal times help make the place feel like home for everyone. When I need to reintroduce family pets when I’m cat sitting, I’ll try have a regular treat time in a place that’s important to my cats like the bedroom. All cats gather around and share a churu or dry treats and this seems to diffuse the kitty anxiety and keeps reducing it over the time the cat stays.
