Who else lives in a dead zone?

[Deleted User]Bigguy4u (deleted user)

It seems that most people outside of New York or California are having trouble finding enthusiasts.

I live in CA and having trouble. I can only imagine what it's like for the rest of you.

I'm a pro in Calgary, Canada and it's a big dead zone for pros and enthusiasts alike. My guess is most people realise this isn't what they think it is and end up leaving. As soon as I lay down the rules, they're out before they've even tried it. The majority of the clients on other sites I get who are local to Calgary try it once and then never again. In fact, I have more regular cuddle sessions with my traveling clients than the ones in my city for the most part.

I live in Quad Cities(QC) i.e. in IL and IA. The closest few cuddlers are in Chicago area which is like 180 miles from QC

  • I think the main factor in finding other cuddlers (both social and professional) is being near a big city (at least 1 million population), moreso than being in a particular geographic area (such as New York or California). People tend to forget that while NY and CA have big cities, most of the land area of both states is still rural.

I live in Eugene, Oregon, and I drive 2 hours north to Portland to attend cuddle events there.

Search meetup.com for cuddle events in your area, and be prepared to drive to the nearest big city if you don't live in one.

@Let_Me_Hold_You - I live in a large metropolitan area (Phoenix, Arizona, 4.7 million people) and there are no female enthusiasts here who will respond. Plenty of professionals if that is what you want and can afford. I have no interest in 'cuddle events', I'm looking for one-to-one interactions. Almost everyone who visits my profile is a man, I have no idea why.

  • I'm an enthusiast in San Diego. Dang near impossible to find someone who has the decency to respond though they will come visit my profile (maybe even multiple times).

    San. Diego.

    I do.

    Zombies everywhere.

    Runnin out of bullets.

    Lotsa bubblegum tho.

  • @chococuddles bubblegum is incredibly versatile against zombies :)

  • I totally agree that population size is a factor. For me, I think regional culture also plays a big part in it as well. I was fortunate to grow up in an environment where cuddling and falling asleep next to people was completely normal. At the same time, I can see how people who weren't exposed to that might feel that cuddling is a semisexual activity and not be comfortable with that.

Best bet though is that, if you feel like platonic cuddles is something you appreciate, there is a good chance that other people around you feel the same way. You could try to head over to that "Advertising stickers" post and spread the idea around your neighborhood. Also if platonic cuddles are nonsexual in nature, why not open up to cuddling people of the same gender if you don't already do that? People across the spectrum appreciate touch and benefit from cuddles. Granted you might have to negotiate who gets to be the big spoon you're both used to being big spoons.

  • In today's society, there is a reason why this is a profession. People are lucky enough to have a QUALITY pro close enough, it's an even rarer unicorn to find a responsive enthusiast. Its the unfortunate current state in our culture. There are so few people interested in and who find enjoyment in cuddling virtually everyone, that it needs to help pay our bills in order to have enough time to meet the needs of our area. If I had another full time job, I wouldn't be able to see anyone. My time and energy would be filled between work, my boyfriend, family, and self-care. If there were a quality pro near me, seeing them might be part of my self care at times. Being a cuddle client is amazing, even if you're in a relationship. Way better than a massage in my opinion, and they cost about the same. The cuddles I have received from other professionals at cuddlexpo and my training were stellar and so relaxing and healing. It really is a skill, both natural and learned. If you have a quality pro near you, consider yourself lucky :-/ There are so many who don't even have that. I don't know. Just a thought...

  • Orlando is a big city, and it's been pretty dead lately. Most clients want more than cuddle. Or explain what it is, and ends conversation, I'm in between jobs and wish this would get better.

  • There's not a lot of activity in my area, two hours from Philadelphia. What I find frustrating is that many people who are closer to me don't even bother to respond to my requests for a booking.

  • Lol ukguy. I had the same problem. For some reason my page was also mostly being peeped by men in az. Odd coincidence. Lived in phoenix for a while and had pretty much the same issues as you ukguy. I found few active enthusiasts. Many pros tho. California is about the same. I live nearish some big cities. Lots of active pros and inactive enthusiast profiles.

  • North of UK is fairly dead. London looks okay though, as you would expect with the much higher population density.

Amsterdam is pretty much dead... or maybe it's just me! :/ lol

Joking apart though, I guess it's understandable that folks here are wary of non locals given that so many drunken stag do's head this way...

Shame... ah well... I suppose there is always next time!

  • I live in Los Angeles. Even here it is bleak. All anyone wants to do is just email back-and-forth never even talk on the phone!!!

  • Im in the ny/nj area when i first got on here i met many non pros who were willing to cuddle with me without a fee now they are all pros lol can't find nobody to cuddle without a fee.

  • @barrista are you referring to enthusiast or pro?

  • I wish I could just travel to all of you and give you big hugs and cuddles.

In a 300 mile radius from Los Angeles, there are 760 women to 8,406 men, minus pros. Showing pros only in the same area there are 327 women compared to 22 men. These numbers are approximate because I had to manually tally them by scrolling in groups of 400 at a time.

  • I live in Perth, Western Australia, the most isolated city in the world, and it's living up to it's name. I've found no one

  • edited November 2018

@denhamwhiter - I checked out your profile and am surprised you can't find anyone. Perth may be isolated but it's a very big city. Over 2 million people according to Wikipedia.

I joined to find there’s only 3 other folks signed up in my town, we are pretty remote so I don’t fancy my chances of getting a hug

  • This site is extremely depressing. I find someone close, and they've been offline, and never get back on/offline for a few days, then never get back on or haven't been on for months.

  • i live by detroit and there is like maybe 5 people, and none of them reply but seem always on.

    shrugs

  • I am in Sacramento Ca and you see people checking everyday however they just never have the common courtesy to say no thank you or what’ever. I think they think this is supposed to be a hookup for potential mates.

Heck! We all need cuddling for one reason or another

  • anyone got any ideas for somewhere that may be affective?

i was thinking tinder but it is a dating app so.

    idk.

I am in the state of West Virginia. and it seems like a dead zone. no one besides me (in my opinion) really is interested in platonic cuddling. I am soo bummed, but I know it will happen one day.
