@KuddlyKoala you're so right about the whitewashed education system. It's been shocking to grow up and realize how many lies we were taught. And I'm a woman of color who was raised in Los Angeles!!!! Makes me sick. My kids are taught the truth.
No matter how many powerful people and their minions try to eradicate memorials, plaques, and any other references to the struggle for freedom from public view it is up to every individual to never forget.

I’m very happy for my brothers and sisters that no longer are being held in excruciating, and dehumanizing situations. If it weren’t for Juneteenth I might know some of my best friends!
@SpicyNSweet I absolutely agree that people should be taught so we don’t have repeats in history. And I too hate how the truth of atrocities is often attempted to be covered up. It makes me emotional; “The truth will set you free!”
