Planting a couple flags, going to a baseball game if the weather holds and fireworks afterwards. I'd like to see the fireworks in DC, but I'll have to watch those on YouTube.
Grilling some bratwursts, hot dogs, hamburgers, and drumsticks.
Basically, celebrating America's real pastime: eating.
I've been recovering from back injury for the last 6 weeks so my plans include very little outside of relaxing and soaking in my hot tub.
Fortunately for me I have a 4 day weekend; this week I’ve had to deal with a heat index of 100+ in a factory without AC but today’s my last for the week.
This weekend is another scorcher, so I’ll be in the AC as much as possible 😅 Some friends of mine are having a pool party on the 4th, and my parents are cooking ribs on Sunday.

Since the 4th of July is on the weekend, I'll be hitting Coney Island at least around 5 AM in the morning just to beat the tourist crowd and chill for a bit before watching the Nathan's Hot Dog eating contest to witness the GOAT Joey Chestnut win as many titles as the Boston Celtics in his field of dominance. 😂
Yes it might seem as a weird event to watch, but I find it entertaining and it makes for an intriguing spectator sport. No way in hell I'd ever compete in one of those, but games like this are quite the spectacle to witness. Then later on that night I'll journey to Long Island to catch fireworks by Jones beach because it's a better and less crowded experience than seeing them by the Brooklyn Bridge.
Probably will be at Anime Midwest convention that day.

@Brandi welcome to CBUS! hey our big thing is tomorrow night called Red , White, and Boom. It is the biggest firework show in the Midwest . Just a reminder it is packed! and of course its all day so getting there seems ok but after the fireworks are over everyone there leaves at the same time and it may take hours to get home even if you just live like 10 miles away . The exit from there is crazy! I hope you are enjoying your new city an yes we get this heat a couple days every year it seems!
@OhioMike thank you you’re the sweetest! a few years ago when I visited my sister in law, We went to red white and boom! It was truly an incredible experience ♥️ 💙🤍🎆 the firework show was something I’ll never forget! I’ll definitely be seeing that again in the future but this year feel with my moving plans and all the craziness of just getting here would be better to keep it more chill and just hang out 😂 might hit up one of the parades though! I wish I had a bbq for my backyard but not that prepared just yet haha. Next year for suuuure! ♥️
