Receiving messages from a de-activated member that I cannot reply to

Has any one else run into this?

I have been talking to someone who seemed up for meeting in a few weeks once our seasonal colds had gone away, but unfortunately she de-activated her account. I initially thought "Oh well" and moved on.

But now I have received another message from her while she is still de-activated, and because she is de-activated I can't reply to her, to at least tell her that her account is de-activated.

This is very confusing! I've sent a technical support request to Cuddle Comfort. Hopefully I'm not just embarrassing myself and there has just been a glitch in the system.

  • De-activated is different from banned. De-activated or deleted is user choice. Deactivated is a way to put yourself on pause. There is actually a helpful section about it under FAQ's and Contact Us.

As a women we are often extremely overwhelmed with so much mail it tends to feel like we're being spammed. If she isn't using a secondary email and it's her main address it gets bothersome to receive all those notices plugging up the in box. De-activation means she's just taking a break, she's probably touching base with you because she does want to arrange a cuddle at one point just needs to find a break.

This isn't an app, it's a site purposely designed by a man who was in his 20's to create a pause. I don't know him so I don't know the exact reason but if I had to venture a guess as to why he designed it the way he did it be this. He had just come out of a long term relationship, missed the connection to another person; was maybe even hoping she'd reappear in his life again, no idea; and made it intentionally slow and thoughtful to ensure he's thinking with his big head and not his little one. A cooling off period if you will. For one reason or the other he created it knowing he didn't want a girlfriend or a sex partner, just someone to help him with the sudden loneliness caused by the breakup. The site is working just fine. If you want instant gratification find a meet app.

If she's deactivated and still contacting you she's interested. You're on her short list, it's all good. Unfortunately now you have to practice the lost art of patience!

Reach out to others while you wait. It's always good to have multiple cuddle options, as a wise man on here told me when I first started, it prevents the possible chance of developing non platonic feelings, and gives a broader base of available cuddlers. So if the one isn't available when you want to cuddle the other one might be! Besides, variety is the spice of life! Thanks for the great advice Griz!

Sadly, that is a feature of the site that could be fixed to prevent the confusion that you had.

Sending you messages, and deactivating the account, I think she does not know that deactivation means you can't send messages back to her. Which, is either being ignorant or inconsiderate on her end. If you want to send a message her way, you are limited to guessing when she is online and hope that she is activated long enough to get a message through that window.

If she is not being considerate to you in finding a cuddle buddy, then move on and focus on other people who will be considerate.

A feature on her profile is you do catch her active would be the save to favorites, I believe it's on the three dots to the side. Practice on an active person amybe.
Then if she shows up it'll tell when she was last on, kinda a heads up of sorts.
