Phone Usage and Goodbyes

edited July 7 in Pro Cuddling

What do you think about a pro cuddler texting during a session and checking their phone several times? (... and without apologizing or giving a reason)

It happened to me and it just felt kinda lonely since their mind was obviously someplace else πŸ˜•

Also no goodbye hug made my inner child so sad 🫠

I don't know where they were heading after the session but saying goodbye while walking out the door like that (without a goodbye hug) wasn't very great 🫠

I didn't even get a hug during the session 🫠

Just feeling down. this was supposed to be something fun that adds positive energy to my life, but that session just made me sad.

And they showed up late but rushed out the door on time πŸ™„

I'm writing this here because I feel bad and idk what else to do. I guess to see your thoughts on phone usage during a session.

I think if I cuddle again I'll just cuddle with gram instead because she is reliable even though she lives like 100 trillion light-years away πŸ˜‚ but gram always gives goodbye hugs 😁

  • As far as feeling bad because a session didn't live up to expectations - that's entirely normal. It can just take time to process, but one of the best things to help is reframing unhelpful thoughts. We can choose to view less than stellar experiences as learning opportunities, or as bullets dodged due to incompatibility.

It may seem common sense to many, but communicating particular needs and boundaries before and at the start of a session is incredibly important for positive experiences. When we assume the other person feels & believes the same as us, that they have the same expectations and ethics, that they can read our minds - we tend to run into problems. So for instance, now you know that it may be helpful to discuss tech use with a potential cuddle partner, or to ask for a closing hug or other ending ritual to ease out of the session. Learning to adequately vet our cuddle partners for compatibility is one of the most difficult and time intensive parts of platonic cuddling, whether hiring a pro or not.

I hope you have more positive experiences!

  • @Blue_ii
That makes me so sad to read, and maybe there’s a way to carefully express that in a karma?
I’m sorry that happened to you, I hope you will try again and have a better cuddle experience.

  • I'd feel kinda sad if my cuddle partner was texting instead of being present with me, doubly so if it's a professional. I'm sorry you had that experience :<

  • thank you for all the replies!

In the future I'll be sure to discuss tech usage so it's not a problem. And I'll emphasize how important a goodbye hug is for me. It was my first time experiencing these problems.

I am probably going to take a break for a bit.
