FIFA World Cup Predictions

I am Brazilian, both my parents are from there, and I grew up in a Brazilian community in the united states. i was bummed out about us loosing against Norway, but I am now cheering for Morocco. On a side note, if Morocco does loose, I really hope Norway wins lol. In that sense, I support them as an underdog.

My spirit is still a bit broken from that game. But, I am curious who all of you think will win the world cup. The memes of Halland and his plays are pretty wild. I think he has a chance to win this world cup.

  • I was rooting for the US :anguished:
Now, using my brain instead of my heart, I am picking France to win it all. Their team is loaded, and I believe only Argentina stands in their way.

  • Tough break for Brazil, but you really can't even be mad at the Haaland memes at this point! 😂

I’m caught between two extremes for who takes it all. Part of me really wants to see Norway go all the way because a Haaland-led underdog championship would be historic. But on the other hand, France looks so incredibly dangerous.

It's either France or Norway for me, good luck to Morocco in the meantime though.

  • I was watching some of the spotlights of Eygpts game versus Argentina, and Eygpt aas robbed of the win!!!! Argentina simply had preference based on the referee not acknowledging fouls! I think based on how dirty Argentina was playing, Norway might have a chance, because they are not breaking any of the rules to play with such strength and precision. I also think its symbolic they beat the best team in the world 💅

  • @ProfHermes I personally was not rooting for the US. I watched some of the game, and off the fly, I can tell it was messy, and not the messi kind lmfao

I actually haven’t seen the spot lights of mbape

  • @SoftCuddlezzXp

His personality is great, but I’m still heart broken, such a bittersweet feeling about an underdog

  • Love this thread! (If you couldn't tell from my name!). I went to several games and the world cup is a blast! Believe it or not, my original bracket has France beating Norway in the finals! I think France is just too good this year but I love what Norway is doing and I think Argentina are eventually going to fall short. I'm also crushed the USA had such an awful game against Belgium. We are so much better than we played. But you have to love the emotion of the world cup!

  • It’s between France and England in the final for me. Rooting for England!! That Mexico vs England was a game for ages. Disappointed in the manner Brazil lost though. Norway having almost 70% possession of the ball is wild. I know haaland got the goals, but it was Odegaard who ran the show. I feel that the decline of Brazil is attributed to the disappearance of favela-style footballers.

  • Odegaard was great in that game... And in full transparency, I didn't pick Norway to the finals because I think they're the 2nd best team. I just think england and Argentina will find a way to lose and spain really should have been on the other side of the bracket to play france in the finals but FIFA wants Argentina there so they gave them an easier path

  • France does not deserve it and neither does Norway.

I will reluctantly choose england to win this world cup.

Never have I seen so much whining in a sport though lol. Every other team, players etc crying like toddlers to the media when they lose.

US got a player unsuspended for Belgium game and they are called cheaters as if they were spying on a team or using steroids or something. This is why I'll never have respect for this sport but will root whenever team USA is playing.

  • @Theprodigy1231 100% true about the players! The players are a lot less intuitive about how they play futbol. However some of the players now do still come from the favelas, i think the pressure is our downfall. And now Neymar is retiring 😭

  • @soccerguy333 fifa does want argentina there, but Eygpt was definitely still robbed of the game :(

@wilderdude I feel like its because the bullshit and the sway is stronger since its such an international sport, there’s a lot more global beef. Thats why all of south America Unites against Argentina 🤪😭 at least culturally. Then we also have the Spain and Portugal beef, and Portugal was a result of being an independent nation from Spain, it all tracks. But its so interesting to see these dynamics play out, but also unfortunate.

  • I will be sharing more Norway memes as I encounter them 🥹

  • I'd like Norway or England to win the World Cup. After that anyone besides France Argentina, and Spain who have all won recently.

  • @cuudledragon, I know the US is bad, but my fandom drove me to support their sorry butts. I am still hopeful that they figure out a way to compete with the rest of then world in high pressure matches. 🙏

  • Corruption has entered the “beautiful game,” at least through FIFA. There are a number of select teams that are favored over others and it’s called in that way. Yet another prime example was that game yesterday.

I’m thinking Morocco has no shot even before entering the match against France, but I heard all the refs are Argentinian, so go figure.

  • @TLC007 That's another reason why I'm rooting for the underdogs in the upcoming games.

  • @Kempist all the refs are Argentinan?!???!!! Smh, I have to look into this!

  • Listen I know we all know France as a high end rep, but have you seen Haalland play?! This guy is a monster!!!!

  • I was at Wembley Stadium in London in 1966, along with my sister and 100,000 others, to watch England win the World Cup, beating West Germany 4-2 after extra time. My sister and I attended all England's games in the World Cup in London that year, from the group stages to the final. It was an amazing, never-to-be repeated experience. We'd never won the World Cup before and have never won it since. I'm hopeful this year, although over the years England fans have got used to disappointment in major tournaments. Perhaps this time we can finally win it again and put an end to 56 years of heartbreak. We're playing Norway in the quarter-final on Sunday and that's going to be a tough game. It could go either way.

  • @TLC007 entered? hasn't FIFA been known to be super corrupt since forever lol. John Oliver has a really good piece on FIFA corruption that he did some years back.

  • @JasonCuddles everyone knows that bald people are inherently corrupt. lex luthor, walter white, dr evil, voldemort, pinhead from hellraiser, imhotep from the mummy movies, bane, wilson fisk, thanos, ernst blofield, etc etc.

lol i say this facetiously, for I am bald as well. (started out just shaving for the look in my early 30s, now i'm actually bald bald)

  • England. Never been there, but I have some family members who grew up there.

  • Anybody know if the Miami Dolphins are still in the running? JK. Go Norway! Row! Row! Row!

  • Agreed with everyone FIFA is garbage and always has been 😭 I just like the players, smh…..its like working a job where everyone hates the boss, but most of the coworkers are cool. Unless they are bootlickers 🤪😝

  • @wilderdude honestly facts, I would add Jeff Bezos to that list 😂

  • The Egyptians are still upset over FIFA’s apparent endearment of Messi. I wouldn’t be sad to see France take this one over Argentina. If I were to root for an underdog, I think Morocco would be my choice, because I want to see Africa win a Cup.

  • The thing is these are massive revenue generating events.. when that is the case FIFA is going to lean towards keeping one of the major worldwide stars alive in the tournament. Egypt beating them would be a massive loss for FIFA going forward.

I remember Adam Silver being asked what his ideal NBA Finals matchup would be. He said "Lakers vs Lakers".

    It's all about the $$$.
