Which do you prefer?
How would you define the difference?
@fanasygirl thank you kindly for asking it. This question always intrigues me as everyone’s definition differs.
@JustAGuy215 Here’s my best attempt to explain my perspective. I only cuddle clients, I don’t snuggle them. To me, platonic cuddling sets very clear boundaries and expectations of each other: no touch zones and topics that are off-limits. While snuggling has deeper layers of closeness and intimacy, especially when it comes to being vulnerable. I wouldn’t cuddle a client the way I snuggle my son, BFF or partner.
For example a client is free to share their thoughts and feelings with me, but as a provider I don’t think it’s appropriate to share certain details of my life. Then there is the physical aspect, platonic cuddling excludes touching private parts. Snuggling could include kissing, caressing and penetration. Lastly cuddling is movement or actions vs snuggling is burrowing/nestling and still/settle state. I think the main difference is more the mentality behind the experience.
Curious to hear others thoughts.
Synonyms are neat
I like to use both because if I’m talking about cuddling and I have to mention the word cuddle multiple times, I feel stupid saying it that many times. So I switch it up lol
All snuggling is cuddling but not all cuddling is snuggling A snuggle is usually a cozier, more nestled-in kind of cuddle ... pressing close, curling into someone, nuzzling, intertwined together or getting comfortable together. I definitely include snuggles in my cuddles
@MeltMyWay I love that distinction. I think I always just liked the word "snuggle" better than "cuddle" but that's a really interesting way of looking at it.
One is a form of human affection and the other softens my clothes.
