I watched the news footage of Badass Bison with those tourists. While I truly felt bad for the old man, I couldn't stop laughing when I saw him tossed like a ragdoll by the buffalo - have been there, (almost) done that with a few close calls myself with various wild critters, and it was hilarious to me.
Those folks were way too damn close, and bison most assuredly ain't cuddly. Puts me in mind of how often I see cruise ship tourists getting way too close to the bears in Alaska, or Disney visitors in Florida who get far too close to the gators in the canals. They're wild animals, and they do what wild animals do - figure out where you belong in the food chain.
Yes, this is coming from a guy who has been scratched, clawed, stung, bitten, tail-slapped, and so on by a variety of wildlife. I think there is a big difference between knowing the dangers/assuming the risk vs being blissfully ignorant and assuming that wild animals are peaceful.
