Ever see a random obscure show on television over 20 years ago that aired on a cable channel almost no one watches (eg UPN) at an odd hour like 1 or 2 AM? Spinning off the wrestling thread, I remember such a show called Battle Dome, which combined pro wrestling with American Gladiators

    Second Chance with Matthew Perry as young Chaz. It was revamped as Boys will be Boys or something like that. Changed the whole premise of the show and doesn't survive... Shocking

    Pro wrestling show starrring Lyle Alzado as a wrestler trying to be a family man juggling both lives. Teaching at a private school by day and wrestling in a mask at night.

    Nobody else seems to remember it but me lol. It was kind of obscure and produced in Canada.

    The Life of Riley staring Stu Erwin was an early TV show along with The Real McCoys staring Walter Brennan and Richard Crenna.

    I'm going with this Australian show even if I only remember the first season. USA broadcasts appear to have been very limited.

    'Orrible the 2001 UK sitcom, starring the very funny Broadcaster and TV Presenter Johnny Vaughan in a rare acting role, he stars alongside East London Stand up Comedian Ricky Grover. The pair play two lifelong friends from Acton, West London who see themselves as bad boys in the heart of Gangland when really they're nobodies. They're mostly out of work desperately seeking respect and validation, from the regulars in there local pub and everyone else. Paul (Vaughan) an unpleasant character lives with his Mum, claiming he's just there to help her out and put "a few crumbs on the table" he constantly blames Shaun (Grover) for holding him back in life when it could just as easily be the other way round. The budget is cheap, the acting from some of the supporting cast is poor, but some of the writing is excellent and hilarious, it's quintessentially English and London centric, it takes you into the dynamics of a British pub, and above all shows how people bored with the hum drum of everyday life, can escape into a fantasy and become completely deluded. It was cruelly robbed of the chance of a second series which undoubtedly would have been worse than the first one. At it's best it was fantastic, at it's worst it was 'Orrible.

    • Outsourced
    • Mighty Max
    • Conan The Adventuror (cartoon)
    • King Arthur and the Knights of Justice
    • Street Sharks
    • Double Dragon (cartoon)
    • Bump in the Night
    • Mr. Bogus
    • (maybe) Resident Evil (netflix show, not the movies or games)
      Also most, if not all, of these were not on cable tv.

    @IronicMaiden I never knew they brought it back. Maybe I will look into again if they re-stream it.

    I think the spirit of the thread though implies shows that can be remembered from the pre-streaming days. I think we all remember having to keep a close eye on the clocks to not miss our shows 🤣 Then again there are probably a lot of younger members here who would be confused by such a reality 🌿

    Viper - A knock off Knight Rider, with a Dodge Viper instead of a Firebird Trans-Am, from the early 90's. I was obsessed as a child.

    There’s another show called Blind Date that I never watched when it aired on TV but about a decade ago I went down a huge rabbit hole with it and slowly but surely you can find the entire series on YouTube. The show is basically what you think - a guy and a girl who never met before are set up to go to dinner, do an activity, have drinks, etc. Sometimes the date goes really well but most of the time it goes horribly

    The two shows no one else ever remembers is Solitary (game show where contestants live in pods and blindly compete at challenges) and Early Edition (kyle chandler stars as a guy who gets tomorrows newspaper and has to go save the day).

    @tupperwhere I think I may have seen an episode of that viper show. I seem to remember seeing one with Jamie Pressly and Tiffani Amber Thissen in a hot tub together.

    Oops check that. I. Thinking of a show called Fastlane. Not Viper. I doubt Fastlane is remembered either.

    One was called I think rad girls on like a fuse Network maybe. And the other one is the original Ninja Warrior from Japan that was on like G4 and I was so good it's the reason we have the competition here. And then also I'll throw out there APB

    @disneysamurai Blind Date was originally a UK programme in the 80s & 90s, although the format may have been different. It was hosted by Cilla Black a successful singer in the 60s, she was from Liverpool and was friends with The Beatles from the early days in The Cavern, she worked there. One couple on Blind Date got married and invited Cilla to the wedding, she wore an outlandish hat.

    I've been reliving my childhood with old Nickelodeon shows and I came across The Adventures of Pete & Pete. Man that show was weird and good. And the opening song was so catchy!
