Tell me something

  • @TattooSqueeze I think you need to have a picture starred (chosen as primary) for it to show up here. But then you also know which picture everyone will see first when they look at your profile.

  • @IronicMaiden I couldn't find the directions in the help section on how to accomplish that. I submit a HelpDesk ticket to assist me. If you know to do so, could you share the step-by-step instructions please?!

  • @TattooSqueeze I don't have anything more than Edit Profile, Edit Photos, and make sure one of them is starred.

  • @IronicMaiden I just confirmed that my primary photo is starred.

  • That's the only thing I know of. Hopefully Helpdesk can help you.

  • One thing about living in Santa Carla I never could stomach; all the damn vampires.

  • "Something".

  • @IronicMaiden Hallelujah! I’m no longer a blank avatar. Gotta love when help is actually helpful.

  • I asked my daughter to give me a phone book. She laughed and called me a boomer and handed me her new iPhone.
So, now the spider is dead and her iPhone is broken.

  • @7gem
I was NOT anticipating that ending 🤣

  • Humpty Dumpty was pushed.

  • Poor spider lol he didn't hurt anyone

  • Excited about my new business adventure. Going to be selling encyclopedias door to door.

  • @IronicMaiden LOL. Thanks for sharing

  • Hell yeah! Graveyard shift is best shift! Insomniac of the world unite! Together we can take over the world while those foolish normal people sleep!

  • @Atuday
now i have the pinky and the brain song running through my head.

  • @mauvefox fun fact. Pinky is the genius because he's found happiness and Brain is the insane one because he's trying to take over the world.

  • @Atuday i completely agree.

  • Well since the title of this thread is tell me something I'll tell two different unrelated things:

    1. I recently met someone who works a graveyard shift 3 nights a week. Yes a nurse and so that's her work schedule. Plus I have another friend who works in a different hospital on the night shift but he's not a nurse. I always forget what his title/position actually is.

    2. I have a friend who is a few years younger than me but admits to me that she's not really good with technology. Long story short she was crying about some potentially lost important videos and I helped her recover them and back them up. First she didn't remember her password to her laptop (I had set up Linux Mint on it since it's an old Thinkpad and should be more beginner friendly) so I had to figure out how to reset it and succeeded and got in. Then it needed quite a lot of updates so I did that(sudo apt update as well as sudo apt upgrade -y). After that she logged into her google drive and we started making copies, downloading to her laptop, copying to another external storage and then moved on to her phone. I found her phone storage was full so things were automatically being sent to trash, but I managed to find and recover her lost videos and did the whole back up in google drive, laptop, and external storage so she has them all in several places. She was so grateful and give me the biggest, tightest, longest hug she's ever given me (I was a bit surprised of how strong she was). I just did it to help a good friend in need, but the hug made it even more worth it. I'm just glad I was able to resolve the problem and not have to say I'm sorry I tried but it's gone. I also was trying to show her how to do things like create a copy in drive and downloading instructions and whatnot.

  • I have different eras in the past. I wouldn't do it more anyway

  • @7gem

A T-rex was just a wyvern and old school archeologists were just unimaginative and without any whimsy. 🤷‍♀️

  • Since my wife hadn't talked to me in six months I wanted a divorce.
My lawyer suggested I think twice. Wives like that are hard to find. ;)

  • The first time I heard someone say, "I work grave yard" was when I was in high school. And we were talking about our new part time jobs if we finally got one for the first time. And I was like you do what?! In my head it meant he worked in a cemetary at like evening/night. I was basically like you ain't scared of them ghosts? Lol.

But saying, "I work grave yard", still doesn't make sense to me. Probably worse than saying it is raining cats and dogs. Maybe because English isn't my first language so my original language actually means what is being said. But with this language you just never know lol. I mean when I first heard raining cats and dogs I was like ok some dogs and cats climbed up a tree and someone yelled at them or tried to scare them down and they jumped off. I was like ok weird but can happen I guess lol. So yeah you never know lol

Way back in the day I worked graveyard shift at a convenience store …
Pretty much it was only police that came in for coffee etc. one of them told me the only people out at that time of night was “working people and people who shouldn’t be out !” 😆

When Walmart was open 24 hours back in another day … one of my kids needed a last minute school project and I said ok let’s go to Walmart and get the stuff and he said Dad we can go to Always instead . And I was what the heck is Always ? 🤔
