  • Questions are a burden, and answers a prison for one's self.

    I can't say I'm surprised.

  • "this guy" is a mod. He moderates the site, so if you were sent a warning then there was a rule break somewhere. they are not obligated to spend any additional time explaining it to you as the explanation will be in the original message. you posting this without posting the original email is an interesting cherry pick of the interaction.

also generally poor form to bash mods in the forums as they are volunteers that work to keep the site as safe as they can.

  • I assumed the warning is something that's sent directly to your email, and doesn't show up in messages. And probably says little more than "You have received a warning". If it's unclear what it's about, it's reasonable to ask to avoid doing it again. If mods are going to block people for asking questions about mod actions, this should be explicitly stated somewhere.

  • Honestly, I think there are some pretty big holes in this story.

You’re showing the messages you sent the moderator, but not the actual warning or the conversations that led to it. So nobody reading this actually knows what happened or why you were warned. You also know moderators can’t just disclose the details of a report or private conversation, especially if doing so could identify the person who originally reported it. That means you can tell your side publicly while the moderator may not be able to provide the information that would give everyone the full picture.

Then you say, “this community is not like it used to be.” But by your own account, you haven’t actually had a successful booking through this site. You said one woman gave you her number and was later banned, and the other person you were supposed to book with ghosted you. So what exactly are you comparing the current community to? Not getting a booking and having two unsuccessful interactions doesn’t really give you enough experience to make a statement about the entire community.

And if you were part of this community before, left, and came back with a new account, then that makes me question the statement even more. You should have enough experience to explain what has actually changed. Because there’s a big difference between the community being worse and the rules actually being enforced now. If you were simply able to get away with more before, then of course the community is going to feel different to you now.

You asked the moderator why you received the warning and then, three days later, followed up with “wow, good talk.” I can understand why they may have decided they were done engaging with the conversation after that.

You’re allowed to be frustrated that you haven’t gotten a booking. You’re allowed to disagree with a warning. But publicly naming a moderator and portraying them as someone who unfairly targeted you, while leaving out the circumstances behind the warning, is unfairly damaging their reputation. Especially when you already know they may not be able to publicly defend themselves or disclose the information that would give everyone the full picture.

If you’re going to put someone’s character on blast publicly, then be honest about the entire situation. Otherwise you’re asking people to judge someone based on half the information while knowing the other person may not be allowed to tell their side.

  • @cheeseboy Please come and defend your honor. Cheeseboy has always been reputable, so I am definitely skeptical of the OP’s post as it lacks context and details.

  • @TheFunCartel I think that’s exactly what the OP wants. Cheeseboy doesn’t need to defend himself or get pulled into this. There’s nothing to defend when the post itself is missing the context. I think engaging would just give this more attention than it deserves.

@importedstjames - I have unblocked and sent you a link to the conversation that triggered the warning. Since you have the details of the warning, this should all be pretty clear. It may not be in your recent memory since it was something that happened a few months ago, it is still something that came up in reviewing a report.

You were blocked because of your passive-aggressive approach when you didn't get a timely response from me. The warning will stay, the other reports you have submitted have been closed as there is no action to take on them, and this thread is now being locked.
