I can't help but laugh very time I read the profile of a pro, the part where she has to state to a grown man the need not to be smelly before an appointment I wonder really how pervasive is this problem
It’s a problem, though it’s not the end of the world.
The issue is that people get used to smells really quickly, so most people don’t know how they smell. I think the site rules say everyone should bathe within 12 hours before a session, but I try to do it as close to the session as possible and use mouthwash immediately before.
It’s a lot easier to put a reminder in your profile than to say something during the session and risk making things awkward.
Unfortunately after two sessions that the cuddler had such a strong smell on his armpits that the smell got in my hair, I started sending a text after the booking is confirmed asking for the cuddler is recently showered, fresh clothes, deodorant on and recently brushed teeth.
It's been a problem maybe 1 out of every 10 clients. Oral hygiene is an even bigger problem. Now that I'm hosting I make it a point to let clients know they're welcome to shower before a session at my place pointing out that it's 100 degrees and for some even a car ride over can cause an issue.
I have not had this issue with anyone I've cuddled, and I do wonder if location matters. I live somewhere that does not get super hot or humid, and some of my clients are openly worried that they might smell bad and I have to reassure them that they don't. They usually smell good, like some sort of cologne. So in my experience most people do worry about it and try to ensure there is no odor.
However, I have heard from several cuddlers that a pro they hired did smell, or that their clothing smelled stale. That's why I make sure to personally shower within 12 hours and change clothes between every cuddle.
I'm not a pro. I have had more than one smelly cuddler. 😷

As someone who was a full time e-sports competitor in the Fighting Game Community, a subsector of our community who are trained players of the Super Smash Bros. game series have a bad reputation of not being keen on hygiene. It's even gotten to a point that it's been immortalized as a meme 😂. I've even said to one of those dudes "You know a shower wouldn't kill you fam." 😂
So I can admit there are legit dudes who wouldn't bother to take the time to keep clean, wash their bodies and brush their teeth at least once a day. Word from the wise, when you're meeting with anyone and are going to be within close proximity of them, STAY AWAY FROM GARLIC! Granted, it has solid health benefits, but for the love of God, only have it when you're not gonna be outside most of the day.

I know in wrestling and MMA there have been fighters that intentionally don't shower for days/weeks to make it tough in their opponent. Matt Lindland was especially known for being foul he would poop without wiping for days so his stench was unbearable lol.
I don't think they let MMA fighters do that anymore.
I have never had a problem with a cuddler showing up with bad hygiene. I wish I could say the same for the other parts of my life!
It's kinda like the passive aggressive sign on the office fridge asking people not to steal other's lunches - if it wasn't happening, it wouldn't need to be said
I could write a whole book about bad body odours and bad breath, but I am not here to upset anyone! 🤦 If I am hosting, I have EVERYTHING that may be needed, shower gel, tooth brush, mouthwash, floss, deodorant. I even have comfy pajamas ( and boxers) for people who think it's a acceptable to have a quick shower and put their smelly clothes back on. No thanks! If I am meeting someone elsewhere, I arrive and politely say, I just have some emails to deal with (or some similar excuse) while you get showered etc. 😅
Sometimes I understand that I may sound over the top, too bad, if you want to cuddle with me, I am very fussy about smells! 🤷😉🤭
@ProfHermes Oh my goodness, I don't think I'd EVER get used to Durian. It's tolerable when it's mixed in as an ingredient to a confection or dessert of some sort but straight from the fruit is a NO GO. Taste and texture isn't bad but I just can't get past the smell, it's repulsive! I've learned a crash course into how Durian is prepped when I first visited Singapore back in 2018.

I was watching a random basketball interview clip of old school ballers talking about the old days (80's 90's, that era) and one of the better defenders of that era Vernon Maxwell of the Houston Rockets said he hated guarding against New Jersey Nets legend, Drazen Petrovic. Petro went a whole week without showering as a tactic to ward off defenders of being too close to him, he did that as preparation of going up against Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. The Houston Rockets played the Nets before the Nets had that game against the Bulls so Maxwell was the unfortunate soul having to guard Petro, saying that he smelled like the Jersey dump. 😂 It shook him up enough that Petro scored 28 on Maxwell's head and the Nets won that game by 15 points. Maxwell finished that season 3rd in Defensive Player of the Year voting so he was no scrub, though he was also no match for Petro's competitive stink. 😂Unfortunately for Petro, that tactic did NOT work on MJ. Jordan was not phased by the competitive stench, his will to win was too strong and it let to Petro and the Nets losing yet again to Jordan and the Bulls. And another thing, Matt Lindland is a filthy savage, like what the actual F***? 😂
Not a Pro, but I have never had anyone show up who had a hygiene issue, thank God.

I was cuddling with someone, and she commented that she wasn’t used to cuddling with someone that smelled good. Malodorous men are apparently common around here.
As a professional cuddler, I share the request for basic hygiene (shower, clean clothes, teeth brushed) along with my boundaries. I have had someone’s sweat impregnated on my hair after a cuddle session and it’s really not pleasant (to say the least!). And I’m sensitive to smells so it’s definitely awkward. Luckily, the majority of my cuddlers do shower and are clean for the session but there’s always the odd one 😅
@SelfMadeJay lol yeah lindland was hardcore. I remember rampage Jackson talking about how it took multiple showers to get lindlands stench off him
I have an extremely sensitive nose, so when I've encountered cuddlers who have really bad body odor, it's incredibly rough 🤦 Thankfully it's not the norm, but it's definitely a thing.
Thankfully, I have only had to deal with bad hygiene a couple of times, and I live in AZ, and,, I have a ridiculously strong sense of smell (isn't it so much fun, @SpicyNSweet ? 🙄)
The second time was just a couple of days ago and it was so so so appalling that I am going to have to let my client know to slather on deodorant for his next session like it's going out of style...I just haven't had the heart to bring myself to do it yet 🫤

I'm okay with individals who aren't into deo as long as they have freshly showered and practiced oral hygiene.
I think it's a good thing to have a shower available and if you're person shows up stinky offer them to use it complete with soap, shampoo etc or cancel. It's summer here and it's often over 110F.
@TenderEmbraces I had a cuddler specifically ask that I don't used anything scented , I went on a shopping trip and purchased unscented soap and deodorant. I really dont feel clean if I dont have a nice smell, but to each their own I suppose! 🤷
I have a very sensitive nose and I'm allergic to a lot of perfumes, so I understand wanting nothing that is scented. Breathing is an important part of cuddling.
Schmidt’s charcoal and magnesium is excellent! Extremely light scent! Practically none.

I also have a sensitive nose, so body odor is definitely difficult. But so are strong colognes and after shaves, immediate headache for me with most of them.
I sympathize with the ladies. Axe is a grenade to the olfactory senses. Anyone who is within 100 feet will receive permanent damage to their olfactory sense.
