I adored how honest she was about wearing wigs, she was one who inspired me that there is NO SHAME in wearing wigs. Lol 🤣😆
This is one of my favorite Dolly Wig Memes:
Lol! 😆
She will be missed! 🤗😁
Goodbye to an amazing woman who is now reunited w/ her beloved husband of 58 years.
Dolly was not only an incredible performer, but also a prolific song writer. She wrote so many songs that other artists sang & the average listener never realized they were listening to a Dolly Parton song. She wrote nearly 3,000 songs that spanned over all sorts genres & many became hits for other performers.
And then there is the Dollywood park. One of the primary reasons she created it, was to stimulate the economy of where she grew up. Dolly Patron's hometown is 7 miles from Dollywood & the region had been economically depressed. Dolly wanted to give back to the community & give jobs to everyone she grew up with.
AND THEN there is her iconic look. Dolly attributed her iconic look as her emulating the look of the local town trollop from when she was growing up. Dolly's Mother called the woman trash because of her bleach blonde hair, makeup & dress, but Dolly thought she was the most beautiful woman.
Love Dolly. Her music wasn't my cup of tea but the pure iconic kitch of her plus her beautiful personality, humble pride, humor, audacity, sweetness and wit was more than enough to brave the Hollywood bowl to see her. The audience was diverse! She was such an adorable gracious performer and she told stories, danced by bouncing those big fake yiddies and changed her outfits every two or three songs 😅 I went out and bought the tackiest high-heeled rhinestone snake skin cowgirl Boots in her honor just for the occasion and 10 years later I still have them. ♥️
I've definitely never been well versed with Dolly Parton, yet she always seemed to be a down to earth, genuine soul.
Hurt my heart. What an amazing woman!
The closest person to an angel on Earth. She exuded an aura of energetic enthusiasm and a love for life. She was a wonderful woman and just hearing of her death was an absolute shock. It legit made me feel sad, she was one of those people you thought would live forever or at least for a very long time. Godspeed Dolly.
I hope y'all can appreciate that I handle grief with humor, even if the humor is off-color. With that said, I propose the following:
Cuddle family my heart is full of joy to be alive and I am also grieving a singer idol icon DOLLY! My heart breaks for the catastrophe in NEPAL🙏❤️🩹
And now the new tropical system in the Atlantic is named Dolly
Tropical storms are named 5 or 6 years ahead of time.
@7gem yup. They had an article on that the next day after her passing how ironic it was that the “D” name for this season was Dolly, which was prior to the storm ever forming. But the names are done years in advance.
@TheFunCartel An interesting coincidence though. I hear Tropical Storm Fun Cartel is scheduled for 2028.
Tropical Storm Fun Cartel is scheduled for 2028.
Well if it’s like me it will lose its way and wander up to Canada and intensify into a Cat 5 over Calgary.
I first heard of her from Hannah Montana. I was so hoping to meet her and Betty before they passed. I’ll never get over it. Her voice is pure magic. I can’t believe I got to exist during her lifetime and never met her😭😭😭 RIP
I rarely care about celebrities, but Dolly was much more than that. She wasn’t ashamed of where she came from and always tried to bring everyone up with her. Smart, beautiful, talented, heart of gold, witty, and never let anyone block her shine. The crazy part is the night before she died, I was listening to her music and then heard her sister tell the story about them competing over who peed the bigger circle. Their childhood was so relatable to mine, I was just laughing the night before. Then boom, the next day while driving, I got the horrible news. Her voice was always so soothing to me, and I also have her mom’s voice ingrained in my thoughts. I haven’t stopped crying. Every time I hear Dolly’s music, I lose it all over again.
