I feel like this meme made more sense 20 or 30 years ago. Being a Trekkie, cosplaying, going to conventions, gaming, and being proudly “nerdy” really isn’t viewed as a negative thing anymore, at least not by most. Fandom culture is more popular and mainstream than ever, and honestly, there’s something incredibly alluring about someone who is smart, passionate, and unapologetically nerdy. At this point, the "nerdy types" didn’t just get accepted… they became cool.

Yep, it’s the same thing with Disney. Disney people often get knocked on by universal fans or people who play video games and collect Pokemon cards.

@disneysamurai That honestly surprises me. Im a fan of both Disney and Universal, and I know plenty of die-hard Pokémon fans who love both too. I guess every fandom has its little rivalries, but I’ve never understood why anyone feels like they have to choose just one. Maybe they see it like choosing a sports team.

@MeltMyWay We've come a long way since the 90's have we? I'd argue to say that being a fan of more nerdy stuff is more in fashion now than being a hardline sports fan. My main gripe in that though is that nerd fashion now seems too performative as in it's just being worn to be trendy. At least back in the 90's people who wore that stuff, knew their stuff. 😅
I once was in California driving through a shopping center right next to some houses and a skinny chicken had flown over the backyard fence. A resident came out and was chasing the chicken who flew over the roof of a car to try to avoid recapture. He was running around like a chicken with its head cut off. The guy. Not that chicken

I have never actually seen a chicken cross the road. I think it just might be a myth.
True story:
A while back, driving through a rural area. My gf was with me. Suddenly, she says, "Chicken."
I said, "What?"
"There was a chicken," she said. "It looked like it was going to cross the road."
She later said that she could hear my grin as I said, "Why?"
@7gem I had an especially precocious chicken years ago named Blanche (her sisters were Rose and Dorothy lol) who regularly crossed the road to my neighbor's house. She would tap on their sliding glass door with her beak until they opened it and gave her treats. 🤣 No idea how she figured that out. Oh, and she did this with clipped flight feathers, after somehow making it over a solid wood plank 7 foot fence 🤣 So yeah. Chickens will cross a road to get food. It's their biggest motivator ha ha
