Boston recommendations? 😇

I’m visiting Boston for a couple of days and somehow made it all the way to Friday without getting a proper steak dinner. 😂 I leave tomorrow evening, so tonight is my last real chance!

Boston locals (or anyone who knows the city well), where would you send someone for an amazing steak? I’m looking for somewhere that feels worth getting dressed up for — great atmosphere, great cocktails, and a steak I’m going to think about after I leave. 😇

I’m staying downtown and don’t mind venturing out a little for somewhere genuinely worth it. Bonus points for somewhere that’s good for a girl dining solo and might actually have room for me tonight.

    I've always loved going to the Stockyard. I doubt it would make a lot of people's "Best Of" lists, but I used to work for a hockey team that played right up the street, so I'd hit it up after games. It's like the place is stuck in the 1970s. Great steaks, too.

    But for the experience you're describing, you're probably looking more towards Abe & Louie's, STK, Smith & Wollensky or Grill 23.

    Doug you definitely were not wrong! I tried Ruth's Chris and it was on par with some of the best steak I've ever eaten. I actually made a sound when I took my first bite and was totally embarrassed. 🤦‍♀️ 11 ounces of heaven. 🙃

    @SpooningSpecial I was craving seafood one night, and steak the other. I can't help that I'm a total carnivore! :lol: The night before it was raw fish, so can I have some points for that at least?

    Also, I'm a tad spoiled for choice when it comes to seafood back home on the coast of Florida. 😇 That's sort of our every Friday thing already.

    @AngelNextDoor I get it but i am a Rhode Island native so give me stuffies, clam cakes, chowdah, doughboys with some coffee milk and Del's. For dessert I am going to Greggs.
    Anywho will stick to coconut shrimp down here in hell but can't do fish lol

    Have seafood in Boston. When I had scallops in Boston I got angry over what I had thought was scallops up til then. And I'm from California 😒

    @SpooningSpecial I grew up vacationing in Cape Cod so I get it. 😇 We were catching our food as kids and making it a competition among the cousins as to who could catch the most. When I visit I'm usually spending time with family and that means Polish comfort food. Although I am disappointed I didn't have time for a lobster roll.

    Well you are surely missing out here in Satan's private parts aka Florida, because the fish right off of the boat is absolutely the best. Red Snapper and Grouper are all I ever want. We're a big sushi and ceviche family, and I have to get fresh tuna steaks from the fish market every week for my Norwegian mini me to eat raw. We could not survive without seafood! 😅

    @biancalovecraft That's how I felt when I went to Alaska this summer and had salmon there. I'll never order salmon out here again.

    @Finnegan2017 yes! I had a cuddle buddy from Seattle who fished salmon and overnighted me a huge slab he caught and it nearly brought a tear to my eye! I was like what the heck have I been eating all my life 😒I think the good California seafood goes straight to Japan we never even get to look at it.

    @biancalovecraft I understand the tears in your eyes. Eating was the first thing we all did once we landed in Anchorage. I took one bite of the salmon, just put my fork down and leaned back in my chair. Everyone at the table looked at me funny and asked "what's wrong?" I said "nothing, I'm having a foodgasm." I offered them all a taste, and one of them said it was like that scene in Ratatouille when the food critic takes a bite and it transports him back to a happy place. It was that good!
    So yes, I understand.
    We have plenty of great seafood out here in New England, but salmon ain't it...

    Yeah I remember having sockeye for the first time and being very upset that I'd been eating pink salmon when it's supposed to be RED.
