Site is leaning pro

I would like to hear others' opinions and experiences about this topic.
I am noticing that in my area there are more pros than enthusiasts. That has its good and bad points. I understand the trend. Many enthusiasts decide to become pros, good money and they still get cuddled. Plus I can almost guarantee that I can get cuddled.
But it gets expensive and there seems to be no rhyme or reason for fees ranging from $100-250 for the same thing, supposedly. And now it's harder to find an enthusiast. I have found that enthusiasts want to be cuddled and are more invested in getting their cuddling needs met and that makes them better cuddlers.

  • And now it's harder to find an enthusiast.

This topic seems to come up regularly, and yes, everyone knows that there are more women here who are pros than enthusiasts. However, I don't think that the existence of pros substantially affects how many enthusiasts there are. It seems highly unlikely that if this site banned pros (for example) that the number of enthusiasts would somehow increase.

I think a lot of people imagine that if there were no pros, that instead of how it is currently:
    - 25 pros, 2 enthusiasts (what my most common search generally shows)
there would somehow be like 20 enthusiasts.

In reality, instead of 25 pros and 2 enthusiasts, you might instead have 3 enthusiasts and no pros.

It's impossible to eliminate the realities of supply & demand. Pros are one way to address it, but I'm not sure other methods for dealing with it are feasible here.

  • And now it's harder to find an enthusiast.

    Try dating.

Cuddle Comfort isn't a dating site, but there are plenty of places out in the real world to meet folks, and many love to cuddle.

I completely understand the motivation of a woman whom starts as an enthusiast, and upon seeing the vast number of women here making money at it, decides to become a Pro, herself.

    I mean, why not?

  • My understanding of the history is that the ratio of men to women has always been a problem. The addition of pros didn't create fewer enthusiast women, the addition of pros brought more women into the site all together.

The owners allowed the addition of pros to try to attract more women to the site. If there were no pros, it would still probably be very difficult to find an enthusiast partner. I'm sure some women join without knowing about the option of being pros, and then see that option and make the switch, but I think actually it's more likely that most of the women who join do so because they already know about the option to become a pro. The only path to being a pro is to join as an enthusiast and then apply once you are here.

Eliminating pros, as already said above, is unlikely to significantly increase the number of female enthusiasts.

as far as cost, there is a single thread where concerns and discussions around costs can be discussed because they muddy up other threads. but simply put, costs are dictated by market, essentially, if they can charge that and someone will pay it, then they will.

  • In the portion of the Chicago/Milwaukee greater metropolitan area included in my site cuddler search for women of any status or orientation, 35 and older, who will cuddle men, there have been 46 Pros and 12 Enthusiasts active this past week. If you flip that script, men seeking women, leaving all other parameters the same, there are 515 guys, and 1 pro. So there are over 9 guys for every woman where I live... not including the youngin's, who'd probably skew it even more... I have no history here, other than two cuddles with pros, and no contact with any enthusiasts yet, other than thru the forums and Book Club. It would seem, from my very limited experience, especially hearing from you all, that the ratio is even more lopsided elsewhere... that maybe, possibly, the focus should be on being more inclusive, welcoming, amenable and appealing to all women, regardless of whether or not they choose to be a pro?

I'm sure some women join without knowing about the option of being pros, and then see that option and make the switch

Based on some discussions I've had with pros, some women who initially join as enthusiasts then make the switch do so because of the overwhelming flood of messages they get when they first join. For many of them it wasn't as much a choice between becoming a pro and staying an enthusiast, it was a choice of becoming a pro or freaking out and leaving altogether.

  • @Achterbahn
Related to my reason. And even then, the option of eliminating Pros from the site would still likely not increase enthusiasts in those cases either. Because those women would probably just have left the site all together 🤷‍♀️

  • If we removed pros from the site, the majority of enthusiasts would likely leave as well. At least with having pros there's some sense of support and not being entirely surrounded by horndog men and creeps. If the ratio got even further skewed, this community would go from feeling slightly unsafe to outright predatory and dangerous. I'm not saying that all the men here are problematic - but enough of them are that without the illusion of safety that having other women around provides, most new ones would leave within the first day alone.

If you want more enthusiasts and fewer pros, focus on the actual problem: this community/niche doesn't feel safe for most women. And why don't they feel safe? Predatory and problematic men. If we focus on removing or rehabbing the problem, I imagine the ratio would start evening out some.
