Are you on a break?

I am very curious to what the responses are.........Lately I've noticed cuddlers have their profiles set to taking a break as to signal they aren't interested in cuddling at the moment. But if that's the case why browse through profiles still, especially pros accounts. I simply don't understand.

  • Life is mysterious. Have you been harmed in some way? We humans do things that are weird to others.

  • Sometimes people stay active on here for other reasons, they have made friends that they message through this system, or they like to read the forums. There are other ways they can do that but they might be unaware.

There are lots of reasons a cuddler might not be a good fit for you, this is just one of them.

  • @mauvefox and that is perfectly understandable. In fact I agree that profiles you are already in contact should still be able to keep communication open. And that stands for being active in forums as well. My question is more so about browsing profiles you have no interaction with before, especially professional profiles. The browsing lacks intention if you are taking a break.

  • as in they clicked on you but they are also taking a break? I mean you could chalk that up to curiosity, or what is often my problem of having thumbs that are too big for tiny phone links 😉

  • @htownprincess17 I’ve actually noticed a huge influx of this recently as well. I had never once seen it before a month or so ago but now like half the people viewing my profile are muted/taking a break. It’s very strange.

@7gem What a strange response to her asking a question from a place of genuine curiosity. Where did she say she was harmed by it?

  • @MelNYC THANK YOU!!! I share the same experience and it was odd to me so I thought to ask the community. And his response I fear is what a lot of people might think, what's the harm? When it's a genuine question that deserves a genuine answer, even if its not what I want to hear.

  • @htownprincess17 I have also noticed it too. In the last month I'd say there has been an increase of at least 10 x the amount of profiles (if not more) are on a break from how many would visit in the past.

And although of course I'm not harmed by it. It is still rather strange and I am curious of why such a huge uptake in visiting profiles being on a break.

I also noticed in recent months that a few have messaged me late at night with the ..⁸ "hey are you free to cuddle now" messages and when I see it the next day, it says they are on a break.

It could just be a way to browse and avoid pros reaching out to them after they have visited us. Although many of my booked clients have expressed much gratitude that I messaged first after they visited my page ... There are also those that don't appreciate it. 🤷‍♀️

  • @MeINYC. Why is is it strange to ask if someone has been hurt? I was curious if she experienced a bad interaction

  • A lot of cuddlers have kids and pre-Labor Day is an extremely busy time for parents, so I can definitely see a reduction in active cuddlers.

  • @TheFunCartel Myself and a couple of other pros have expressed in this forum post its been this way for at least a month so that doesn't really hold up past this past weekend.

  • @MeltMyWay I prefer doing it that way as well. I don't visit profiles that haven't already checked my profile out, and I only reach out if they visit me. And now that you mention it there has been an uptick in profiles reaching out to me at odd hours and deleting their profiles within hours.

  • @htownprincess17 Uh, I know of two pros that deactivate from the site all summer long. So that’s actually months. But if you are looking for a singular reason you won’t find one because the reasons for deactivating are as varied as the people on here. I once deactivated for a couple of months because cuddling just wasn’t vibing for me at the time. Plain as that. But if they are inactive, then we are all just speculating so no answer is right or wrong. But if I was speculating—economy, parenting, layoffs, burned out on CC, travel, illness, weather (summer is not prime cuddle season for some), and the list goes on. I have noticed that many pros have raised their rates so I know I have become pickier and have been sticking with people I know in recent months.

  • @TheFunCartel we are talking about two different things. My question isn't why ppl are deactivating. My question is why would accounts that are on a break browsing profiles, especially pros.

  • @htownprincess17 Oh gotcha. Who knows. I visit when I see people on the forums, or they appear in the last on line in an area I travel to, or a host of other reasons. People can deactivate briefly to check the site and then go back in hiatus. I do that when I am in vacation.

  • @TheFunCartel if you don't know thats fine. But someone knows thats why I asked the question.

  • Some questions don’t have a single answer

  • @TheFunCartel good thing I’m not expecting one answer.

  • Well I gave you multiple answers:

visit when I see people on the forums, or they appear in the last on line in an area I travel to, or a host of other reasons

  • I'm sure there's a variety of reasons for it. Happens to me too. Or I'll have people message wanting to set up a session, then delete their profiles immediately. 🤷😂

  • How would we know the reason a complete online stranger does anything? I know I can’t speak to what’s going on in someone else’s life, especially if I don’t know them.
I’m on here nearly every day to read the forum or answer a message but I’m currently not cuddling. (8,000 mile away break).
And maybe someone who is on a break but still browsing profiles will end their break if they see someone who they want to cuddle.

  • @TheFunCartel someone who you interact in forums means there’s some sort of connection so that doesn’t factor in my original question. Aside from that the rest are under the umbrella of just plain curiosity and that lacks intentionality. But we just see it differently.

  • Sort of. I’ve only felt a real connection with like two of the people I’ve seen.

  • How would we know the reason a complete online stranger does anything?

    @Carrie_Anne exactly

  • Sometimes people stay active on here for other reasons, they have made friends that they message through this system, or they like to read the forums. There are other ways they can do that but they might be unaware.

    What are the ways? @mauvefox

I wonder if y'all know how mean you come off at times? OP asked a question. If you don't know, you don't have to answer. Some of the responses sound so condescending. I have seen an influx of snarky or mean responses more lately. There are always opportunities to lead with kindness.

  • @Carrie_Anne to add more context I also mentioned that being on break doesn’t mean a break from the community as a whole. I’m interested in learning the intentionality if possible

  • OP idk. I didn't even know you could go on break lol

I am not on a break but I hardly ever cuddle here anymore so I don't know if this helps but here's why I click on profiles in no particular order:

-I am interested in exploring a cuddle and want to see if I like their profile to see if we will be a good fit.
-I accidentally click on their profile. (Happens a lot)
-I am reading karma from profiles that fall under reason #1 and I accidentally or intentionally click on the profile of the person who left them karma. I like to know of their good karma only comes from pros, if the person who leaves the karma seems to be loose with boundaries etc.
    -I am curious/nosey

Being nosey and accidentally clicking are probably 90% of my profile clicks. 😂😂😂 I hardly ever cuddle here now but I do come most days to browse the forum and check my messages. Sometimes someone says something and I want to read more about them so I go to their profile.

  • @CaramelNotes thank you. I can respect your perspective. I asked because it’s happening way more often and because it feels like window shopping and I know that is not what this site is about. Intentionality matters but so does nuance.

  • How would it be possible to know why someone deactivates? You would have to interview each one.

  • @CaramelNotes you can mute your profile. It keeps new people from reaching out to you but allows people you’ve already messaged with to continue messaging and gives you access to the rest of the site. A step down from deactivating. More complete than writing something in your profile that you’re taking a break.
