I think the only way to actually know is to ask the people who are doing it once they come off of their break 🤷🏻♀️ Anything else is just going to be people guessing or providing their own reasons. And considering most site users do not interact with the forums, it's unlikely you'll get a clear and realistic picture from the responses here.
OP idk. I didn't even know you could go on break lol
@CaramelNotes Please contact @Mark and have CC HR send you the necessary PTO forms in triplicate.
Its like looking in the fridge.. you know its still just a penut butter jar and a few eggs.. but you check anyway.
@7gem Btown is the village sage.
Also, grumble grumble you're wrong! *angry noises...
@htownprincess17 i’ve seen that too, and my guess is that “mute” status has changed. In the past, muted accounts and their visits to profiles were hidden, but now they can appear on your visitors list. And that’s why, when you click on the profile, you see the “taking a break” message.
I could be wrong, but I’m sure a moderator can clarify that.
Edit to add: As others have mentioned, viewing someone’s profile can happen for many reasons, including curiosity, clicking on a post or comment, a shared event, or simply by accident. It doesn’t necessarily indicate interest.
One can window shop and not buy… 😆
Just reading through this, and man, I feel like some of you really need to slow down, read more thoroughly, and think a little more before replying.
Someone asked if OP had been harmed, as in, was there more to it than just they visited their profile, or was it often enough that it was causing some anxiety or something? Totally valid question, and yet someone had to go and immediately frame it in a negative way. They never claimed that OP stated they were harmed. That's why they asked the question.
Then OP is given a variety of valid answers, and chooses to be snarky back. One responder included the example that they sometimes click profiles of people they see on the forums, just to have that shot down and to be told if they don't know why that's fine. Obviously no one knows why, but the response was definitely valid and could have been graciously reacted to, because there was no reason to do otherwise. Granted, they were off track on their previous comment, which may have irked OP or something, but that's again a case in point for people to read a little better before answering. Regardless, the answer about clicking on profiles of people they see on the forums is very valid and relevant. But instead, it was framed as and assumed that someone had to have a connection with a person they see in the forums to have reason to click on their name, and that's just not true at all. People will click on people's user names that they've never seen before based on something they said on the forums, and glance at their profile. Happens all the time.
Anyway, this stuff happens so much on these forums, where all this nonsense just gets invented out of thin air for no good reason, instead of actually reading what people wrote, or asking for clarification if it was unclear. Someone even chimed in asking if people realized how mean and condescending some of the responses were. Maybe I missed some comments as I have some people blocked on the forums, but what I saw seemed in the realm of snarky and unnecessarily negative, but not really beyond that.
Misunderstandings quickly compound, and then someone like me comes in and reads through it and I'm just shaking my head watching people not understand each other. A little re-reading could go a long way with this I think.
I’ve noticed the increase in muted profiles too, but I wonder if muting may actually be an example of intentionality and boundary-setting. Pros can still see that someone visited, but the visitor has essentially said, “I’m comfortable looking, but I don’t want you to initiate contact with me.” That seems like a pretty clear boundary.
The “window shopping” comment also made me think. It sounds weird to talk about window shopping for human beings … but there are lots of reasons someone might look without being ready to act:
Of course, some browsing can be creepy or objectifying, and none of this excuses that. But I also think there can be a lot going on underneath what looks like simple “window shopping”—longing, curiosity, fear, ambivalence, or just trying to figure out what you want.
Maybe for some people, muting and browsing aren’t a lack of intentionality at all. Maybe they’re intentionally saying, “I want to explore this, but I’m not ready to engage.”
@jdev25 first, your opinion of my tone gives the impression you know me. You don’t. Secondly, you believe the reasons are varied and valid, you are entitled to that. But if you didn’t even read all the comments why word vomit your displeasure with reading comprehension for all to bear witness.

@amber_stone at this point they just want their voice heard. This got away from me
Just so you all know I just visited all of your profiles for absolutely no reason. I also spent about an hour earlier today on insta just scrolling and swiping. Thank you and have a good day.
I messaged 3 cuddlers, few days later all taking a break or paused profile lol not much new people on this site, seems like same people in city month after month
I'm taking a 'paying' break atm, meaning I'm only looking for enthusiasts for now. That reduces my results by like 99% heh. I do still look at pros profiles from time to time because of curiousity I guess if they're local. Or in many cases by accident
@amber_stone that always cracks me up on quora or something when someone has a question and you get someone that just responds "I don't know"
Because they want to “enjoy” our photos and not be bothered by us contacting them for the sites intended purpose. Would be great if there were limits for “break”durations to discourage this to continue for years etc with no session conversions, though it’s currently a newer feature to my knowledge
Half but probably 70% or more of the profiles that view me are on a break, no karma, no picture, new profiles 🙃 like sounds good dude, enjoy the view I guess? Gross.
@CarrieCA I think it’s worth it to bring it to admin at this point. We should be able to set a boundary too.
Wouldn’t that be nice @htownprincess17
@amber_stone the irony of your response is kinda hilarious.
Thanks for opening up this discussion, I’ve been curious about this because there’s been a dramatic steady increase in the last month and it’s become an undeniable pattern in the last week or so.
My guess is that someone is sharing this as a tip to others.
I would love to keep any breakers off my profile because if I can’t contact you to discuss a potential session, you have no innocent reason to be looking at my profile multiple times.
Like someone else said, it’s cool if people are curious and not ready to engage, but I don’t want them lurking on my page repeatedly every day.
@CarrieCA That's a very unusual thing to be fixated on seeing as how your profile is visible to anybody without an account/being logged in. Every day can be problematic sure, if someone is stalking or something, but many people just click around from forum posts (to get some context on who is saying what they are saying) or just people bored clicking on profiles that are brought up randomly on the homepage.
I don’t expect you to understand the perspectives of women and I think that you’re unknowingly assigning oblivious levels of innocence to these users.
Maybe take a moment to reflect further on how this could compromise our safety or at the very least, our peace of mind. We are communicating that we can see that we are repeatedly being viewed by the same users and the likelihood that the viewers have innocent intentions is doubtful.
My personal method is to reach out to anyone who’s viewed my profile as a friendly gesture, no response is required, I realize that sometimes we accidentally click on people as I’ve done it myself. If I reach out, I’m ignored, and I’m routinely viewed with no reply, I block them because it annoys me. But when someone is on a break and they view me 30 times in a 2 week span, that’s concerning.
If I don’t see visitors, it’s not something I can be bothered about. But recognizing the same usernames multiple times is concerning. Hopefully this doesn’t give them more ideas on how to lurk undetected. Geez. Although assuming they can read is giving a lot of undue credit.
We regularly discuss matters like this in the pro forums, because the chances that numerous pros are dealing with the same patterns is often very high. Staying informed is important, sharing information is necessary for our safety. Bringing issues like this to the mods can make changes to keep pros safe and active on site.
Ignoring issues that encroach on our safety and wellbeing is not a wise approach.
@wilderdude
I'm not ignoring an issue I addressed the stalking/excessive clicking.
Also you can edit your privacy settings so that non users cannot view your profile. If this is that much of a concern for you I suggest you do that.
That is all.
Oh thank you, I wasn’t aware.
Would be incredible if the same option was also applied to users on a break.
I always respond to pros that reach out to me after I view their profiles (whether accidentally or just “window shopping”). Even if I am not interested in booking that pro, I still feel like it’s a nice gesture to converse rather than ignore.
@CarrieCA and that is honestly something I’m considering bringing to admin. I’m not comfortable with the idea of window shopping humans which is wildly different from actively looking for a session partner. I appreciate you adding to the conversation
@ProfHermes and for what it’s worth I enjoyed our conversation last week you were personable and respectful
@htownprincess17 i appreciate you bringing up this issue. I hadn’t seen anyone mention it and I wasn’t sure if it was a common issue. Grateful for a discussion because that’s how we raise awareness for change.
@htownprincess17 For me, when I’m browsing profiles, I am interested in cuddling. That’s the main reason for being on CC. And part of figuring out whether to choose a cuddler is the conversations, which get initiated when I view someone’s profile and they respond to me. A lot of times, I even start the conversation.
It’s the other way around that annoys me. When I reach out and then I get no response even from pros.
Ok y'all I myself have been curious why the increase but I feel like some of you are over reacting. This site is a social site before it's a paid cuddle site. We put ourselves and pictures out there by choice. You can always block someone to keep them from visiting your page. It's not that big of a deal. Some people are just shy and are curious about things and aren't ready to engage. I've had many first time.cluemtabthat were in here for a year checking this out before ever having a session.
