Seeing while Pretending

Good day my friends! Another poem for you:

Seeing while Pretending

If we see walls of safety as a little softer,
and softer still,
they might be our cushions.

If we see the world's corners as a little rounder,
and rounder still,
they might be where we flow.

If we see the edges where we meet as a little blurry,
and blurrier still,
we might notice how they braid.

We might see how the dark root you call yours twists with the one I call mine,
so that we can't tell whose is whose,
because they were always both ours.

We might feel comfort in layers,
of bodies we didn't know we had,
at depths we didn't know existed.

We might hold our fragile branches together,
fingers intertwined,
underneath our seeming separateness.

This is to know we can be safe,
in the soft, round, and blurry,
while pretending the walls are hard, corners pointed, and edges sharp.

For me, this is one of the most important poems that has arrived. I am so curious about how it lands with others that I hesitate to write more about what it means to me. Suffice it to say, there just might be more available than we allow or are willing to see.

  • I had to read this one a few times through to be sure my thoughts would make senses to others ...
It's as if the soft edges almost feel like being flexible in who we thought we were, and realizing we aren’t as different from each other as we believe. We have more in common than most realize. Connected by these dark roots ... we all have them. I wonder if, instead of hiding them, if we shared them more ... How often we’d discover we weren’t the only ones sitting with that fear, those empty places, our mistakes, or whatever we find within our darkest roots.

  • My thought line was going along the same as MeltMyWay. But one thing I've found interesting is that with cuddling, intimacy can take the connection a step further without words, without judgement,

  • @MeltMyWay It is one of my favorites. Being nonjudmental with both ourselves and others goes a long way.

  • Beautiful 😍 also shows that we all have our own perspective and perceptions of ourselves and events... but actually, if we realise that it is normal: ie if we appreciate that the other person/s perspective is naturally may differ very much... yet if we realistically see that we are all one in the Universe, and if one of us suffers, we all may suffer, so, just like this beautiful forum community ❤️, if we have understanding and love , we can all be saved ❤️

Huh, sorry 😞 that was a long one...

I can't wait to see 😍 your thoughts and feelings that you had ... what made you write it...

    Hoping you are well 🙏

Lots of love to you and all CC people who reads this 🌄✨️💛
