POLL – Issues with age differences

  • @October1027 one would assume if you have a roommate he/she should already know why strangers are coming into a home they partially pay for.

I am a respecter of no age. I'd cuddle women of any age. Period.

@Spectra615 I feel that! Even growing up I didn't fit in with my peer group too well and I gravitated towards adults and teachers. I just feel like older folks get me more, and don't write me off immediately because of the way I word things, or how I see the world.

@Tom85 Welcome! And that is a good strategy. Knowing your comfort zone first and foremost is the key to success and you may broaden eventually. My very first enthusiast cuddle was with an older gent in 2015, in his late 50s. I kind of took a leap of faith with it because I never would have imagined myself interacting that closely with someone over say 40. But experience is seriously the best teacher, and am I ever glad I did.

@October1027 I get where you're coming from and I felt like that too at one point. I actually had to turn certain older clients away to another provider at times because they looked too much like my grandfather, who was very near and dear to me. Being so traumatised by his death, I would choke up in public just standing next to someone who looked like him in the grocery store.

You say you feel uncomfortable though, which is different than my scenario. Other than the roommate issue, is it just because you do not have much experience being close with that age group, or do you feel you'll be sexualised? Try to put your fears to rest and explore the possibilities. I'm really glad I did, anyway.

Going to your client's house or hotel may be a solution.

@UKGuy I do think there is a difference between not wanting to cuddle a certain demographic because of your preferences versus because of your discomfort.

  • @Catloaf The point is that if you are a professional, you cannot (or at least should not) discriminate for any reason. If you can't work with all clients who abide by the rules, then you really shouldn't be a professional in my opinion. The only potential clients I reject are ones who are asking for services I don't provide or who speak as though they are hoping for something more. I never assume that anyone is that without written affirmation proving such. I also have no age restrictions for scheduling with me. I feel like it's unprofessional to discriminate for any reason :-/ But I also understand having discomfort for certain situations, and I don't think people should be forced to cuddle with anyone, even if they are a professional. I just find it sad and honestly feel like people should only be professionals if they don't discriminate. This profession is all about acceptance and holding a safe space with no judgment, so it feels hypocritical to judge who will be allowed into your space based on something which is completely out of control of the person you are judging :-/

@ubergigglefritz I had a professional tell me they would not cuddle with me because I am married. She was respectful when she told me, but her original posting said she would cuddle with anyone who had a need (she later updated her post). In the end, I thing everyone, including professionals, have a right to only cuddle with those whom they are comfortable (i.e. they can put restrictions/limits).

  • The libertarian in me agrees with your statement that anyone is free to provide services to whoever they want or don't want, but I would personally choose not to support someone who discriminates. No one deserves to be discriminated against, so anyone providing a service to others should not discriminate, in my world. My work is a judgment free zone. That is one purpose of a professional cuddler in my opinion.

  • It depends on the person and the vibe I get from them.

    Oops double post... Carry on.

  • @ubergigglefritz I don't disagree with the point that professionals should be ready to provide to anyone without any deciding factors other than safety and maybe chemistry play, but I like to give the benefit of the doubt and ask why someone would choose to make that decision. Indeed it's different to say, "I am not ready to provide to a certain sex or age group etc. because of a traumatic experience that affects my ability to be comfortable while providing to that individual" than "I would not provide to a certain sex or age group because I am not attracted to them" etc. also known as preference. It is also another thing to say "I will not at this time but I will work towards modifying this boundary", rather than "I will never because I just can't". I think those who say "I will never" have no business doing this professionally, and should reflect on what exactly they are doing here with a laundry list of traits someone must have to qualify for service. Others may hit a road block on their journey and discover that something they SHOULD be able to do makes them really uncomfortable.

It is not always about "discrimination". I find that a rather hefty word in some cases as it connotates prejudice, which not all cuddlers use in setting their boundaries.

We're in the business of dealing with humans at the intrinsically human level. A professional service that's very personal at the same time for both provider and client. Not everybody is capable of starting out all-accepting, especially if they have more to learn about their boundaries. I learn more about mine every session.

In my service I never had age restrictions, because by the time I began providing I was comfortable with the idea, regardless of the hangups I might have had personally when I was younger.

Since it's written in our contracts, I should probably clarify if anyone else chooses to post here that age issues for professional cuddlers wasn't originally up for discussion so much as the experience of enthusiasts. I am guessing that @October1027 is new to the business, and when you're starting out you might still have some hangups. The libertarian in me too thinks that boundaries, whatever they may be, are a right. They should be used as a goal for a learning experience, and not a wall to keep others out; there is a big difference.

  • As long as they are legal, and they are aware of the difference, I don't mind and even welcome it!

  • Also, I feel that my number in age (40) does not reflect properly who I am. I am youthful and energetic, adventurous, younger looking, used to spending time with a large variety of ages. The age thing is just a number, and I think we owe it to each other to find a connection, rather than judging on age, (Or just looks, lol, I am sweet but I am also that weirdo with piercings and tattoos.) My best advice, read my bio, see if we vibe, let's chat!

  • Personally I would be suspicious if I had male friends who were coming on websites like this and deliberately seeking out younger women to cuddle. I would probably be honest with him and tell him it comes across as really creepy and disingenuous. That said, I am open to cuddling with people of all genders and all ages.

After more than a year on this site, with no responses, I suddenly got two, one of whom lived relatively local to me. Distance was the decider, not age. However my regular cuddle buddy is a fair bit younger than me, which concerned me at first, until we met and she confirmed that she preferred an older guy. So, the age difference works well for us, but there are far more significant issues, such as openness and honesty, mutual respect of each other and our boundaries, but also a compatibility in the ways in which we wish to cuddle (for example, for hours on end when we can ).

@RainbowZebraSam - and what about older women looking for younger guys? I've come across quite a few on this site. In my experience, almost every non-pro on this site has an age preference, whether they have stated it in their profile or not. As has been said by several people before, it's usually the same age range as people they would date. Most people on this site are in their twenties and thirties, so if you are outside that range, your chances of finding someone are slim.

  • [Deleted User]snugglicious (deleted user)

Personally I have no issue with age. However it seems that most heterosexual women who are not pros, especially the younger ones, specify the age range they would use on a dating site. This is not dating, but there you are.

Pros are completely different. They are running a business and would not turn down a paying customer without a very good reason. In this thread many of the women accepting all ages, including the OP, are pros assuring prospective clients that their business is welcome.

  • You're not planning to marry him so what connection does that have with age? A grandpa can hug his 5 year old daughter anytime, what's the problem?

Cuddle is basically a long hug, it's a sign of affection but even less on this site since it's just people yearning the physical need, it's not like there's an emotional connection with a stranger.

Perhaps YOU were thinking of joining this site to date or get sex, but don't assume why he joined, ok? That makes YOU the creepy person, not him.

I have cuddled a number of professionals far out of my age group (while still being over 18, of course). The farther away in age the more delicate treatment is required, but it is so sweet to see them warm up to me. Why do I accept the age gap? Not sure. The only theory that I have is that it allows me to care for someone who could be my daughter, since I never had children.

With those in their mid-20’s, although I am clearly much older still and usually direct the meeting, (Um, I guess because I am paying, lol) the comfort level is as though we were the same age. From my own point of view, I seem to have a young personality.

  • Even if I wasn't a professional, I wouldn't care about age gaps.

  • For the argument of different age range feeling like certain family members, please note that not everyone (like, a lot of people) don't have relationships with their family members where they share touch. That is the case with my family. We all love each other so much, but no one would ever snuggle together watching a movie or while talking. A hug hello and goodbye is all. So I do prefer to cuddle with people from within my dating range approximately (though I did expand it slightly for this site), because if someone reminds me of my dad or grandpa, my first instinct would not be too cuddle them. #twocents

  • If someone is uncomfortable with my age regardless of what I might think of their reason, why would I want to cuddle with them? There are a variety of factors that might cause a young person to prefer not to cuddle with those of us past a certain age. I don’t consider that age discrimination, but even if you do, why would you want to convince that person to cuddle. I would much prefer to cuddle with someone who accepts and appreciates my age, especially if it’s a professional that I am paying a fee for the experience. You may view this differently but I hope anyone I might request to cuddle with is upfront and honest about their preferences.

  • Honestly, once someone is +18, I don't really have a preference. Though, honestly, I tend to prefer women that are older than me for cuddle buddies. Since my experience with them has been much more relaxing. That, and younger women tend to just not respond.
Most of the time, it is just about finding someone that won't charge an arm and a leg to cuddle with me. There are few women reasonably close to me. Even fewer that are active, and not a pro.

  • [Deleted User]PDXGentleman (deleted user)

I currently have cuddle buddies I see on a regular basis that are 10+ years older than I am. The eldest of which is 19 years older. They are wonderful cuddlers and have lots of great conversation topic to talk about as we cuddle. :)

  • I'm a professional, so I am definitely open to cuddling people of all different ages, races, genders, etc. That's true on this site/ when I am being paid, and in my personal life. One of my absolute closest friend is old enough to be my mom. We regularly share long hugs, hold hands, and sometimes even lay in bed together. It's a completely platonic relationship.

While I have never dated anyone more than 15 years older or younger than me (I've come very close to that number on both sides), I have cuddled lots of people more than twice my age. If we can find a comfy position or a great conversation topic (spoiler alert: I always can), I'm happy. For me, it's about connection and that's definitely possible at any age.

  • Almost 70% of people who would be okay with cuddling with someone older than them because this is obviously a cuddling site.

  • I am 32 and have always been open to cuddling men and women with no age limit. I have cuddled people from late teens to nearly 80 years old. The persons spirit, values and unique attributes, mean more to me than age. So if your younger, my age or older, pretty open to discussing cuddling. 78 years is my oldest cuddle but open to older too lol ?

  • I would feel totally comfortable cuddling with someone 15 years older than me. While age would not be an issue with me cuddling with someone younger, I would probably be worried about their comfort level. I feel like as men it is often assumed we are always looking for something more, and all I am really looking for are platonic cuddles. My concern would be that they were comfortable with the age difference and it not impacting the cuddle session.

  • Almost every one within a 45 minute drive is 17 to 40 years younger. I don't care. My massage therapist is 25 years younger

  • @ubergigglefritz - "you cannot (or at least should not) discriminate for any reason."

Is there a code of ethics that professional cuddlers agree to abide by? It's not a regulated profession.

  • [Deleted User]SoulcuddlerZ (deleted user)

When I first came around in 2017, my initial thought was to avoid any cuddlers under 21. But then came a specific pro at 18, who was quite active in reaching out to potential clients. She isn't around anymore, but she racked up quite the karma reviews before she departed.

For so long as it remains platonic, age disparity should be a non-issue. However, some will express concerns given age, and rightfully so. Ultimately, it shall be a matter of one's comfort zone.
