The other evening I booked a lady from Dallas. She was able to meet me in Houston as she was in town for Christmas.
She insisted on getting paid up front ($200) for a two hour session.
She started sniffling and blowing her nose constantly. I asked if she was sick. She said she was sad. She said there was nothing that I could do to help. She wanted to go home. She got up and left!

    Sounds pretty scammy to me. Although technically ur supposed to pay at the start of a session if the pro ends things for her personal reasons (nothing u did) she should refund the money. Sounds like a report n negative review is in order.

    She blocked me right away. I reported her. She's still active. I felt sorry for her until she walked away with money

    Beware of anyone asking for money ahead of time. I have noy booked many pro cuddlers, but not one asked for money til the end.

    @curiousgeorge1 I wouldn't see it as a red flag for a professional to expect payment at the start of a session. The Client Service Agreement says:

    "Payment for each session is due before the session or at the very start of one."

    If I am traveling any distance, I require a deposit for a new client. If I am traveling a great distance, I will require payment in full in advance. I hope my karma will convince people I'm not a scam, but I understand the skepticism... I'm also not going to travel three hours, book an airbnb, pay all my animal expenses while I'm away, and not be absolutely certain the client isn't going to flake out on me... :-/

    @ubergigglefritz I understand your point of view, but i dont feel comfortable sending payment before arriving.

    @curiousgeorge1 I totally get it. I think if I'm already committed to a trip from other existing clients (like my Durham trip this month), but I have space available I need to fill, I would allow payment at the session, but would have to charge a higher rate for that option (kind of like paying a fee to use s credit card sometimes), in order to be fair to my clients who make the trip happen by paying in advance. :-/ If no one could pay in advance, I wouldn't be there for the people who don't. It's tough though. There are scammy and sketchy people on here. But for those of us who are true professionals, it makes sense. Any normal professional in any other occupation, you would expect to pay in advance for them to travel for hours to provide you their service ?

    I would never expect someone to travel to me for one, as no pro would ever come to my house. I would only go to them. Be that a 3rd party location or if they host at their place. For my security, no one is coming to my place. Just be safe. I will still advise against paying before you see the pro in person. That is still a huge red flag.

    There are so many factors. May be a red flag on it's own. But like I said, it's completely normal in many professions, so it depends on if you're dealing with a real professional or not. My trip coming up is probably going to be mostly a bust, but I'm still going even though I'm barely going to make anything over my expenses. My existing clients down there are amazing and I can't leave them high and dry for another couple months before my next trip. I could never manipulate someone into giving me money and then run off with it. I even have a client who paid six months of monthly cuddles in advance, and I'm still meeting him monthly to pay off that. It is possible to make a judge of character virtually. Sometimes it's deemed a worthy risk if there is enough evidence for the person and you are enough in need of the service. If you're just trying to have fun, maybe less worth the risk. Or if you have alternative quality professional options available who don't require that, less worth the risk. I understand the fear, but it can be frustrating to be an upstanding honest person and hear blanket statements like that. It royally sucks that there are people out their scamming people. No shows and no pays also royally suck for a professional. Both people have to trust a little bit in order to make a session happen. Converse online enough to get a feel whether you trust the person or not. Whether money has exchanged in advance or not, if you don't get the trusting feeling, don't go. There's a lot more than money possibly at stake.

    Yes alot more than money. Safety is key. Meet in public first and no wiring money are the best ways to stay safe.

    You don't pay for anything virtually before you receive the product or service? It's perfectly legit if it comes from a person or business you feel you can trust. But yeah, I guess there are some people who refuse to buy things off Amazon for a variety of different reasons ? Don't throw your money around carelessly, but there are situations, people, and businesses where you don't consider it even remotely a concern. It's not a blanket rule in the least.

    I stick by my statement, meeting in public and no wiring money are the best ways to be safe. So beware of anything other than that. If I were you I wouldnt go to someone else home or let them in yours. Definitely not before meeting them in public at least 2 times.

    I don't meet with anyone in any fashion until I have communicated with them enough to feel comfortable with them. If I'm still too nervous to need to meet in public multiple times, then I'm not doing enough in my screening process or not trusting my gut enough to just say no. I don't see most of the people who inquire with me, whether on this site or not. Most people looking into this service at this point in time are looking for a service that I DO NOT provide!

    I had a pro ask me to send down payment via PayPal.legit or not?

    @amazing1969 It's not uncommon for some Pros to request a deposit via Paypal.

    As a pro, I would be reluctant to request any upfront payment before I started getting karma. It's not uncommon, but there are also bad people out to steal your money. Just do your due diligence. If they're a legitimate professional, go for it, but don't trust just anyone.
