Traveling has always been a dream of mine. I never thought that I would be giving up my apartment and living from hotels, friend's houses and a tent... but here I am. My biggest fear was not being able to afford this lifestyle.
Who knew cuddling was the answer.
It has almost been a month now of being on the road as a nomadic pro cuddler. I had left Portland, OR on New Years Eve and am currently in Atlanta, GA. I have been available to cuddle in five different states total: Washington, Oregon, Colorado, North Carolina, and Georgia.
I honestly have super enjoyed meeting so many wonderful people along my travels. What I love most is I get to relax into my clients in such a heartwarming setting where the conversation is absolutely delightful. I also get the chance to learn about where I should check out that isn't the obvious tourist locations, usually lol. My sessions have ranged from laughing about adventures, education on cuddling, to crying through some personal trauma. You never know what someone needs from these connections. It's such an honor to be a part of someone's life, even if just briefly. I love life so much.
Things I have learned this month:
- Establish boundaries in the very beginning of a session, and enforce them.
- Friends and family will not host cuddle sessions out of concern for personal safety.
- You have to be extremely proactive with reaching out to potential clients by messaging them first.
- Keep track of who is interested in cuddling, and those you have contacted, and keep a log of what city they live in.
- People are flaky but it's not the end of the world, have a backup plan.
- Tech businesses near growing cities have a lot of lonely people.
- Staying in one place for a week+ is way less stressful.
- "Me" days are super important when booking back to back.
- Don't forget to explore the cities you're in.
- Charge a travel deposit when driving 45 mins+ to a client. Learned this one the hard way.
- Booking a mid grade hotel gives you a higher chance of seeing clients. They don't want to risk dying or being mugged in a low grade hotel. If they fear their safety, they will cancel on you.
- Most clients tend not to be able to host.
If you are curious about following my adventures, I have a couple Facebook pages you can check out, just message me and I will give you the links of some projects I am working on. Additionally, if you want the chance to actually meet me, let's get in contact and I can make sure to visit a city near you. Let's add value to each others' lives and savor the moment.
