Would you barter services?

edited February 2019 in Pro Cuddling

Note: Bartering is not officially permitted here but there are circumstances where we might allow it. [Mark]

Bartering: exchange (goods or services) for other goods or services without using money.

I think we have the potential to help each other out. I have some projects I need assistance with. They are simple if you have basic understanding of google apps like search, sheets, and photos. (3:1) I also need help with my WordPress sites. (3:1)

You would be doing me a huge favor really. Currently I am paying a couple people $12/hr and I would like to help you, and help them. I know how lonely it is out there, and I want to be able to be there for you.

Ask me about the project I am working on if you are interested in getting involved.

Be a part of my journey to follow my dreams? I want to build a community, make a work of art, help travelers and cuddle enthusiasts.

What are your thoughts on bartering for this kind of thing?

I asked about this the other day and Mark said it's generally not allowed :(

  • I wonder if I still paid my fees it would be doable

  • I don't think it's fair to ask three hours of tech assistance for one hour of cuddling. A web developer's rates are as high as yours.

@TisDoney I think if you treated it as a normal booking on the website with an accurate duration and fee then I think we'd be inclined to leave you to it. Ideally though it would be a rare event.

  • I have a current bartering client / relationship I met through a cuddlist inquiry. It has been highly beneficial for both of us (I'm even meeting with a referral from him this week who would be a paying client). Sorry to hear that wouldn't be allowed here, but I haven't gotten any serious requests of that sort here anyway. ?

  • *Note that I am bartering with him because he has no money - he is on food stamps. There is no way he could afford my services otherwise. Even if I paid for his services so he could then just give it back to me, why should I pay an effective 15% tax on receiving those services from him? I am only receiving his services to make it an equitable exchange. I can't afford his services either, lol. We are both poor people just trying to help each other out ?

  • @ubergigglefritz .. If you farm a client , from this website,and
They either pay cash , or bartered goods or services , it would
Be fair that the website got their 15%, after all , they are providing clients for
    You , ( you don’t
Even have to respond ). Think of
The costs to display your profile .etc.
I think that’s what the website
Owners is telling the op .
However , if your lead came
From the other website , that’s a different story .

  • I understand. Just expressing my opinion. It's too complicated in working towards the purpose many of us have - to spread cuddles, acceptance, and people feeling nurtured. I like monthly or flat finder's fee. Simple. I guess if someone came to me from here wanting to barter, I could provide the services for the barter plus the site fee. It sounds like that would be the potential solution making everyone happy ?
