I'm asking the hivemind here to help me come up with some concise, polite ways of making my interest in platonic cuddling know. The situation: I'm attending a conference and I've actually had a little bit of good cuddles there. I'll be staying in a house with a group of people and I'm thinking some might be interested in cuddles on the sofa or something like that, something pretty tame. I also thought of the possibility, depending on time and space, of hosting a cuddle party. I mentioned this in a group chat of my housemates and the organizer swiftly and emphatically vetoed the idea. She said cuddles tend to happen spontaneously (mostly they don't) and not everyone is comfortable with cuddles (then they don't have to participate). Okay, I can accept that (I don't think I have a choice) but I'd like to let folks around me know that if anyone wants or needs cuddles, I'm available. These are nice folks and I can't think of a single one I've met that I wouldn't cuddle. And being in a place with other folks around adds a layer of security i.e. less concern that it might be thought of as more than just cuddling. I'm thinking of putting a label on my name tag that says, "Cuddle Enthusiast - if you need cuddles, ask me." Or something like that.
Any other suggestions for making my interests known in a manner that is clear, polite, and won't freak people out? I'm thinking if it's on my name tag, if someone is interested, they can ask about it, and if they aren't, they can ignore it. No one is put on the spot.
What do you think?
