Harassment

You're gorgeous. People can be such assholes. I find it ironic that people look for affection and companionship on here yet are cruel to people when the opportunity arises. This is why some people will always remain lonely.
You're a beautiful lady and I'm sorry you experienced that!

    @Jade25 Thank you my dear.

  • @Jade25 Perfectly stated. I swear you could land on a planet that has two beings on the entire rock and one of them would be an asshole.

Thats awful if he didnt want to cuddle with an overweight person then just dont stay anything and move on, you dont have to be rude and nasty

I have to agree with @sunrise789 just because he hurt your feelings, I dont believe thats harassment, he was just rude

  • [Deleted User]bad_art_boi (deleted user)

If you want to tell them about themselves before the block, go for it. Ignoring them is valid as well. It's funny how people can't just say they aren't interested. They have to point out your appearance first. Just don't try to leave any opportunity for them to bother you further. Cultivate your space here and look for people who can either be more polite or who are interested in what you have to offer without adulteration.

  • @Candy26 I can’t believe someone was rude enough to go out of their way to say that to you as a professional cuddler. Someone who goes out of their way to provide cuddling services to good people regardless of what they look like and how they are built. That’s just very rude and mean.

For the record I wish you were here in Washington State rather than DC because I would definitely want to cuddle with you. Based on reading your profile you are a beautiful person inside and out. I feel sorry whoever the person was that felt so bad about themselves they had to try to make someone else feel bad. Don’t let them get you down.

  • @FunCartel well please don't feel attacked, I just point to the fact that there is no need to keep digging on this terrible subject, why you need to keep them talking about this sad situation.
It was better when you were doing silly jokes.

  • @garrablanca I have no idea what you are talking about. Digging on what terrible subject? Can you please be specific? And as far as being better when I was doing jokes, I do not need your permission to be serious or light hearted. I am beginning to wonder why I stood up for you a couple of weeks ago.

I'm in your area and don't think you are overweight at all. You're beautiful. Just block folks if they are rude. No need to raise your blood pressure over someone you don't and won't ever know.

  • Your potential to come across rude people is multiplied by being in a business where you provide a service and of course it’s multiplied by being on the internet in general. I deal with the public all of the time at work and I always encounter rude people. It’s exhausting at times especially when I worked in Beverly Hills, those people are the worst. Try to not let it get to you.

  • You seem attractive, and that comment was very rude, but there is no context provided of how you two started conversing.

  • [Deleted User]DarrenWalker (deleted user)

No matter how the conversation started, "You're fat, so I'm not going to cuddle you" is almost definitely a personal attack.

It shouldn't be, since "fat" isn't necessarily a bad thing—it's not even well-defined, what counts as "fat" varies from opinion to opinion—but there it is. It's an insult. Not one that makes sense, but then many insults don't when you actually think about them. (Aren't female canines typically loyal, friendly, less territorial than the males, easier to house-train, etc.?)

The point is, it probably wasn't meant kindly.

Your dilemma is an age-old one: should you turn the other cheek, or strike out? Personally, I'd say "forget them." They don't want to cuddle you. You obviously don't want to cuddle them. There's no reason the two of you should ever speak again.

    Off-thread:

So I'm not the only person @garrablanca does this to. Taking "I went to ban a few fat shamers on this thread" to mean @PeopleLikeUs was "call[ing] people fat" is a remarkable misunderstanding. Insisting that @FunCartel is a troll for asking: "Fat shamers? On this thread? Are you sure?"—that's pushing it past the bounds of belief. At this point, it really seems almost entirely certain that garra's supposed misunderstandings are actually entirely deliberate.

  • @DarrenWalker I totally agree on your thread and off-thread points.

  • Oh @DarrenWalker again extending my meaning, I was referring that nobody should be named like that. PERIOD.
But now this is a total drama!!
By the way welcome back I can see now you have target me, interesting.

  • [Deleted User]DarrenWalker (deleted user)

@garrablanca: I will bear in mind in future that when you say to someone, "wow... You should reconsider call people fat, because that's also rude and you are dragging the observation out of context," what you mean is "nobody should be named like that"—not "you are calling people fat, and should reconsider that action."

  • Omggshh the man was rude lol its wasnt an attack @DarrenWalker, ppl say rude things to me hear and there, im not being attacked, @garrablanca dont worry Ive been on the bad list too LMAO

    On topic: block and report.

Off-topic: at what point does posting incomprehensible nonsense—and then claiming that others are obfuscating your posts while entrenching the thread even more deeply into a mire of gibberish—become trolling?

  • @hogboblin Just a thank you for being you.

  • @TouchIsTLC

To brighten someone’s day— to make them smile, or laugh, is enough for me.

Don’t thank me, friend. I find my inspiration easily enough.

    Thank Satan.

  • HUZZAH! Satan! Thank you for this daily bread...

  • Candy26. That is insane! You are beautifull, what a jerk

  • I'm probably the person that Candy26 is referring to.

She is registered here as a "professional" requesting $100/hour. She sent me an unsolicited message. I responded that I was not interested in any "professional" arrangement nor in meeting anyone overweight to cuddle. I state this clearly in my profile here. She clearly did not read my profile and was sending me spam.

After my response, she sent me a nasty message and then blocked me right afterward. Then she (absurdly and deceptively) posted here describing my rejection of her spam as harassment, omitting the context, and asking whether she should send a nasty response or block me after she'd already done both.

The photos she has posted of herself on her profile here clearly show her as overweight / obese, and her listing of her body type as "a little extra" - which is now a euphemism for obese, just as curvy is now used as a euphemism for fat - supports this. Those who have claimed otherwise here are delusional or lying.

Body type is an objective characteristic of a person, just like their sex, height, age, and location, and we all have personal, subjective preferences for these objective characteristics for those we meet for different purposes. Cuddling is prolonged bodily contact for the sake of pleasure. A person's sex, age, location, and body type, and their preferences for these characteristics in those they wish to meet as cuddle buddies, are the most relevant information on a site like this. Those claiming that body type is irrelevant, and that expressing a preference to meet those who are not overweight is somehow "mean", "rude", "hateful", or inappropriate on this site are merely trying to bully others with preferences they dislike into silence.

To anyone who still thinks it's somehow not nice to tell someone you're not interested in paying them to cuddle, in part because of their body type: Please consider the obvious implication of demanding $100 to meet someone for an hour of cuddling on a site like this, and whether it is "nice". Cuddling is nothing but hugging someone for an extended period of time. It requires no talent, no training, no assets other than your own body, entails no risk provided the person you're meeting is decent, and should be enjoyable for both parties. It's not like preparing someone's taxes or giving someone a massage. It's like meeting someone to eat ice cream and go for a walk in the park. What would you think if you saw people on dating sites demanding $100 to meet for ice cream and a walk in the park?

  • And the plot thickens...

I'd like to think people take ANY OP with a grain of salt as it is obviously one-sided and we all know how that works (truth lies somewhere in between (side one and side two) for those not getting my meaning). Are they asking some thing about policy? About the site? Or about something that is controversial? OR are they really just wanting to share their feelings and get support for something?

I was shocked at how the OP seemed a little suspicious and was obviously fishing for something - I for one found it humorous that someone needed advice on:

"What is your opinion? Should you just block them or get rude like themselves and let them know some ugly facts about their own A*s? What do you think?"

Do what you want to, my opinion on how to handle a "jerk" shouldn't really be relevant, should it? IF you need help on how to respond to such a post, maybe signing up here to be a pro isn't such a good idea if you're that thin skinned... Just a thought.

As for @james45612 's reply - true or not, (although it is well crafted and fits the OP's claims (and omissions), it a good (if even fictitious) other side that should be considered. AND if it is true, who is the real "JERK" in this thread? Hmmmmmm indeed.

  • @james45612 So what is your basis that body type is objective? BMI? Weight? Height to Weight? Give us a number since it is objective. But to address the incident overall...

So she sent you an unsolicited message. I have received several. Big deal. What makes you totally classless is you needed to make a point about her body. You knew what you were doing and if not, you are more clueless than I suspected. But underlying your actions and post is a tinge of misogyny that you dress up in objectivity.

If you really want to redeem yourself just apologize and admit you handled the situation poorly and with an insensitivity that was uncalled for.

  • @james45612 you only just joined and you dont have anything at all filled out on your profile. Trolling much?

  • @FunCartel: You're engaging in sophistry. How many grains of sand are in a heap? How tall is a mountain? My objective, non-numerical definition relevant to cuddling is whether, when you place your hand on someone's belly while you're both lying down, you feel a solid layer of fat instead of their abdominal muscles, as you would with someone of normal/healthy weight. Some people like this sensation. Others don't. That's the subjective part.

I never wrote that it was a big deal to receive this one unsolicited message. I agree that it isn't a big deal. I also don't think my response should have been considered a big deal.

When people try to form an angry mob on the internet to impose a delusional, repressive ideology on others through lies, defamation, and banning, that's a big deal. When people are afraid to say common sense truth in private out of well-justified concern that they'll be attacked and banned for doing so, that's a big deal.

The absurd baseless claim of misogyny - with is hatred of women - for expressing a preference to cuddle with women of normal weight can only be considered part of such a campaign to bully people into silence. It would make as much sense - i.e. none at all - to say I was unpatriotic for expressing the same preference.

  • @pmvines: It should be obvious that I created this sock-puppet account to respond to this thread in order to avoid this thread pointing to my real account. Trolling is saying something inflammatory that you don't really believe just to get a rise out of people. That's not what I'm doing at all.

  • If she initiated the contact then that definitely changes the entire nature of the interaction. From her initial post, which did not say she had reached out unsolicited, I had the impression that he went out of his way to send her a message saying she was overweight and not his type. It makes more sense now. It probably could’ve been left at stating he wasn’t looking for a professional cuddling scenario, but said in response as a reason for not being interested changes the whole nature of the interaction in my book.

  • It should be obvious that I created this sock-puppet account to respond to this thread in order to avoid this thread pointing to my real account.

You just played yourself. Having multiple accounts is against the TOS of the site, so either way, I don't think you stand a good chance of being around much longer.
