If I were to cuddle a shoggoth, though, I’d begin by getting a running start and then jumping into its amorphous mass. I’m sure I’d be very pleased in the seconds prior to having my body ripped apart and dissolved. Tekeli-li!

Cuddling Jekyll is easy. Hyde's the problem. He's smaller and younger than Jekyll, so just sticking the good doctor in a comfy set of restraints doesn't work too well—once he changes, Hyde can slip right out of pretty much anything you put Jekyll in.
Bondage bags work best. Sweet Henry's like one of those anime-character-print body pillows, and Edward... well, it's more like wrestling, but there's nothing wrong with that. (He doesn't actually mind if you play with his hair, but you do have to get him in a headlock first. It's the principle of the thing.)

Everyone knows (or should) mermaids require salt water so you have to cuddle them in the ocean. They will tolerate being on a rock so long as their tail is dangling in the water.
Maybe salt water tub with some stones, boulders within tail dipping reach, so can stretch out n cuddle
They can survive out of water long enough to cuddle
We just need to give the aquatic underworld a call to solve the salt water problem. The problem is, where would you find a mermaid who is willing to give up her lovely voice to a toxic octopus lady for a pair of temporary legs and thus a cuddle...hmmm...and better yet would she still even be a mermaid at that point? Questions!

Dear @chococuddles I really, honestly don't can't drink alcohol - at all - nor take recreational drugs - they would not mix well with my antidepressants (although those CAN cause some funny side effects).
For cuddling a mermaid, I'd definitely use the Kraken pose, in some body of water, maybe the ocean, or a nice pool. For a werewolf, id try to avoid scheduling near a full moon, and id for sure bring some meaty snacks.
The 2nd question would be would be, if you got on really well with the mermaid and asked her out - would you take her to a seafood restaurant?
And if I remember correctly the human torch question is actually answered in one of the terrible fantastic 4 films, you wear flame retardant clothing. I wish I didn't remember that scene with his girlfriend mentioning her flame retardant underwear, but it haunts me to this day. Then again maybe we should avoid the films for answers, like how it'd probably be a good idea to ignore the song by The Who for when exploring Doctor J&H.

According to Wikipedia the Scottish have the caesg, a freshwater mermaid, though little besides the term has been preserved.
I would Love to cuddle Ariel. In a pool. Cold water not hot tub. There was a cuddler who dressed up for Disney. We had phone session. Our sched didn't match. She not onsite anymore. Most cuddles are arm/ upper body touching. So no problem with a mermaid.
