Happy Earth Day ?

Been up since 6, thanks insomnia. spring cleaned house and made blueberry banana bread. been gardening and enjoying the day. ????? Cuddles and catching up with GOT later on!

Favorite spot in nature? ??

Any activists/philosopher/ect regarding the environment you look up to? I'm feeling inspired to read up on inspiring individuals today ??

I have my "sarracenia" out relaxing over my quick harvest turnips...snacking on tasty bugs. ?

  • That bread looks interesting.

I have no particular person I look to for environmental stuff, but the subject is important to me. I do what I can to the point where I feel like I can still live but I am not an activist or anything. I kinda see it as natural selection.

Your beds look cool, I quite like food plants :) What else are you growing?

I'm inclined to believe that Earth Day is less about the planet, and more about our species enjoying itself before its inevitable, self-inflicted extinction. The earth existed long before we did, and will continue to exist after we're gone.

    Which is pretty neat.

I saw where Miami and Charleston, SC will be underwater and non-existent before the end of this century and the Middle East and Indonesia will be uninhabitable before the end of the century. Humans are too self-centered in the moment to save themselves. It is easier to deny this is happening than to have the will to change. I am glad I will be dead by the time this happens.

  • To quote George Carlin, the world could just shake us off like a bad case of fleas if it wants

  • In the 1950's there was speculation that in the future we would all be driving flying cars and living in cities under the ocean. At least half of that may become true.

  • I just cuddled some earth but found it had a rather unpleasant earthworm in it. Mississippi Mud Cakes for dinner, with real mud. While listening to heavy rock band Puddle Of Mudd.

Might end the day by using myself to earth the mains electricity.

Hopefully there will still be an Earth to have and Earth Day for, by next year!

  • That's right @hogboblin Be thankful to have oxygen to make these words at all. ? agreed. ??????

A little late to the celebration, but here is my contribution. I've been growing this wisteria that started as a stick in a small pot. I knew it would take a few years and it's been through some things, but 7 years in and it's finally blooming! I thought I would try my hand at making it a custom shape, which I thought for at least 3 years was a failure. Then last year we came to an understanding ?
