Suggestions for improving this website

  • I am definitely strongly AGAINST 'like' and 'unlike' buttons in the forums. That makes every post a popularity contest and discourages diverse opinions.

  • @UKGuy I wish I could like your post.

@HappinessHenry Noted. Will look into the singular-plural aspect at some point.

Just as there is some way to very clearly designate someone as a pro cuddler - last time I checked I think there was a pink P at the top of their profile - would it be possible to VERY clearly designate an enthusiast (both male and female) as such? Give us a nice fun E or something. Just in the past 2 days, 4 people (male people) have messaged me assuming that I am a pro. This is getting old. Really, really old.

Yes, some people don't pay attention and/or don't care - I get that - but pointing out that there are in fact 2 different "streams" that cross in this community would be beneficial - in my opinion. It could be done in a very matter of fact way.

  • I’m sure this has been discussed, but I’d suggest people have to experience at least one cuddle before they go pro. It seems like people learn about this and say hey, easy money let me try it and have no idea what it would take.

I haven’t had a bad experience myself, but i am a little turned off by the fact people come in seemingly out of nowhere and go or, and then when i speak to them it’s obvious they haven’t done it before.

  • @BashfulLoner Even better would be for users to have at least a couple positive karma, or proof of doing business successfully elsewhere. Would be nice if we could have some sort of training implemented, and it would bring in more money to the site ultimately. Maybe would scare off the people who don't really want to invest much into getting started and just want to sign up thinking it will make them big bucks with very little work put in.

  • Training will not do much—congressional reps get training when they come to DC and it does not help. Also sounds too cookie cutter and clinical. One thing I enjoy is the different styles I experience from one cuddler to the next. One of the worst cuddlers I ever experienced quoted me all their accolades, certifications and training and I couldn’t wait for her to leave.

  • @FunCartel I totally see your angle and you are right, sometimes training makes no difference and actually is not an indicator of how masterful someone is at doing their job. It can even give a good pump to the ego for some narcissistic types. You're going to come across them no matter what though. I think I'm more getting at the fact that I see a lot of people who apply for pro status here, and then come into the forums and ask, "I'm new to this, what do I do?" It's great that they're asking questions about how to get started, but have they actually researched this in depth and decided that it's something they're suited to offer?

Training won't necessarily take away the variety of cuddle styles you get to experience either. Someone who knows what they're doing will be aware of following guidelines, but will still have the freedom to have their own personality and way of doing the service. But I do understand your point.

  • Agree. Training doesn't guarantee a good cuddle, but it at least guarantees the person has thought more about this than just "ooh, easy money", they have minimal knowledge as to what it entails, and that they are somewhat serious about it, which hopefully will result in better response rates ?

    @Mark

As long as there are going to be pros on the site, can you make an “Hourly Rate” filter?

I have no need to see the profile of a pro that is charging out of my budget.

@CharlesTwisted That will certainly happen at some point. It's in our notes in regards to improving search.

You can drag-and-drop order your photos now.

How about reverse order the comments so that the newest is on top?

  • edited April 2019

@piscescuddles - I don't like that idea. If the latest post was at the top it would discourage reading earlier posts, and if you wanted to, you'd have to go to the bottom and then read them backwards. It makes much more sense to have the posts in the order entered so you can read them in the same sequence. If you want to go to the last page of posts, it's just one click. I wouldn't be averse to having a button you could click to reverse the order, but the default should be the way it is now.

  • If you are going to add a filter on pro rates, please add to the search display so you can see a professional's number of reviews and average karma. Thanks! I would rather see the display show this and the rate, in addition to allowing a sort based on price, before allowing a filter on the price. Most people have no or few professional options. The filter might be helpful for people who have lots of options (but a sort could serve the same purpose), but for people who may only have one professional, that may end up making them think they have NO options. Sure you may think it's out of your price range originally, but affordability can be relative. If you have lots of prices to choose from for gas to fill up your car, you may get the cheapest within a certain radius, but if you have to drive two hours to get that price, you may opt to buy gas at a price that you didn't think you could "afford", just for lack of any other feasible options. Similarly, you may decide to pay more for a reputable brand than "Joe's Gas Shack" ;-) Show everyone a display which shows them all their options and those people's associated price, karma, and number of reviews, and let people choose. This will serve multiple purposes, including encouraging new people with no karma to start lower than the more experienced professionals to get started, and also will help clients decide where they want to go without having to click on everyone's profiles. My brain is not fully functioning today, lol. Hopefully that all makes sense. The search results should really display price and karma level and numbers though (ALL three things are essential in my opinion, not just price, not just karma, etc)...

Yeah, I agree the context of average and number of karma is necessary to go along with pricing.

And yes, important that people are aware of the number of Pros that are not showing in their results.

@UKGuy To each their own, if I’m interested in past posts I could start at the end, but currently I’ve read many of them so it’s discouraging to have scroll all the down just to see the newest comment. I like the idea of a sort button.

  • I think the “ like “ and “ notlike” buttons for forum postings is ok . Yes , do that .

  • edited April 2019

Hm, I don't really agree with like and dislike buttons. Not only does it reek of Facebook/Reddit/Disqus what have you, but it would totally turn the already shaking ground of the forums into a "like contest". We're pretty neutral despite occasional/bubbling chaos, and I think I'd like to see it stay that way.

  • And how about “ like” and “ not like “ for individual profiles ?

  • @cuddlerforu24 I think that has been already achieved with the ability to add karma to the profile of someone you have met or spoken with, which is more neutral than "like" or "dislike". If "like" and "dislike" were added to profiles, people could simply click either in order to bump up or down people they liked or didn't like for entirely nonsense or false reasons, such as a squabble in the forums.

  • More Waffage

  • Totally agree with @UKGuy. Like and dislike buttons are for those people too lazy to compose and articulate their feelings. They can also be used for various nefarious reasons seeing as how it seems it is pretty easy to have multiple profiles. Several people have posted that they have seen banned people come back only to be resurrected under a different screen name. If that is true then someone with multiple accounts can stuff the like/dislike ballot box.

  • @funcar et al. If the opinion posted has enough integrity , it shouldn’t matter how many dislikes from the peanut gallery , are displayed . My 2 cents

  • oh! let people be hidden by certain search criteria.. like an age filter. There are dating websites for example that let people opt out of getting messages from straight people. I want to be hidden from people too much younger than me because I won't be cuddling with them and don't want to explain it, nor want to give anyone no reply.

  • @cuddlerforu24 No it should not, but you have more faith in the intelligence of people than I do. We live in an age where people get upset if they are unfriended on Facebook for pete’s sake. There are some of them on this website that get that way. These are the people that look solely at the numbers and not the merit of the post.

  • [Deleted User]DarrenWalker (deleted user)

I can rearrange my pictures now? Joy, happiness, and delight! Thank you, @Mark!

  • Faster messaging would be great. Getting by email doesn’t alwAys work and I’ve missed several messages from potential clients I could have met.

  • I would love to have a "favourite books" section for profile information just like we do for favourite movies.

  • [Deleted User]CharlesTwisted (deleted user)

Maybe remove ALL the sorting buttons (except distance, perhaps) in order to facilitate actual conversations and connections, and not simply a shopping list of personal fantasies?

  • @CharlesTwisted Now we are talking. I like that idea. I am fatigued by profiles that tell you all their favorite things, bios that tell you how great they are but when it comes to chatting putting two words together is a complex sentence for them.
