Travel Fees

I understand if a pro cuddler has to travel over 20 miles to see a client. But I don't get it when the pro cuddler wants their client to pay for Uber to get them there because they do not have a car. Their prices are already high and then to add another 40-50 dollars each way to me is ridiculous.

  • @MaxCuddle I have seen those who do not have transportation and it seems like a fairly simple choice—either pay it or find another cuddler. I doubt it is by choice that they do not have transportation.

  • If you don't like it, don't pay it. A pro cuddler who does not host and does not have a car seems like a losing proposition to me.

  • If you have a car why not pick up yourself instead of paying an uber or lyft?

@pmvines Some pro cuddlers are not comfortable with that. They will insist on traveling by their own means. It could be safety concerns and/or just preference.

  • @SoulcuddlerZ true true that makes sense.

  • Why not go to them, then?

  • @Sideon Many of them do not host. I have contacted a couple and inevitably they have kids at home or they live at home with a large family. Generally these cuddlers are lower income and definitely need the money but cannot host or drive. I want to help them out if I feel a connection so I pay the travel fee because I can and it will not really ding me in the way it would them.

  • Thanks, @FunCartel . My big-city bias and "transportation means freedom, and I bought my first clunker at 16" perspective is showing.

  • @FunCartel - There is a third option: complain about it on the forum.

@Sideon - Same here, I also bought my first car at age 16. But we are from California, where if you don't have a car, you can't go anywhere if you don't live in a city with good public transportation. And few California cities have that.

  • @BlueIris I always prefer door number three, it just seems so mysterious!

  • Actually two that could not host and had no transportation were in Cali in the LA area. One of them had a story that would break your heart (immigrant). I fear for her health in 20 years—working 3 jobs and getting by on 4-5 hours sleep over time will kill you. I hear stories like these and it makes me wish I were independently wealthy and could do something for her and her family. The three jobs did not include her cuddling gig. She was so sweet that she wanted to give me a 30% discount on her fee—because I was the first gringo to just listen to her. I would have none of the discounting and I will see her again if only because she smiled in spite of her hardships.

  • @FunCartel that's so sweet, you seem like a kind person! Life can be so tough on either sides, and trying to understand each other can help. As opposed to "these pros that charge SO much ugh, they are annoying" type mentality, we can practice more understanding, and empathy.

@MaxCuddle like others said. You either can pay for their transportation. Or you can't. So, you may wait/try to find someone closer to you in that case.
