Several new cuddle contacts

I’ve received 4 new cuddle contacts today. I’m not complaining but they’re very straightforward and asking for a deposit of $40 for an $80 session. Maybe this isn’t that unusual but it’s a 3 hour rate! I can’t be the only one receiving these today, do you usually report these profiles?

I think there are more factors you need to consider before reporting in this case, because some pros will take a deposit when they have been badly burned by flakes and timewasters in the past. Are they brand new or haven't been here for very long with no karma? Are they asking for this $40 in gift cards? That's usually a huge trademark sign of a scammer. When you say "very straightforward", could you elaborate? You might also consider doing a reverse search on the images they are using to see if they're fake. Ask to set up a phone call, or some other mode of communication where you can verify they are who they say they are and etc.

It could also just be that they're inexperienced and don't know what they're doing.

  • I've only paid a deposit once.....as long as the pro cuddler isn't spending money on a hotel room or something like that, there's no way I'm going to pay a deposit anymore.

  • Yeah, I do not play the deposit game. I will go without before I do that. With that being said, the choice is easy—pay it or don’t pay it. You are a grown man, figure it out.

  • I mean, the other angle is it's one thing to ask for half of the first hour, but to just expect a deposit in addition to the time paid? If it was the latter then that's a little weird. But @FunCartel is right.

I appreciate the comments. Since I haven’t taken the plunge yet, I just didn’t know if it was standard. The cuddlers aren’t professional and they have no “references”. Thanks again.

@shybrit If a non pro is asking for money deposit or otherwise then it needs to be reported.

  • That’s why some pro Cuddlers would like to chat with a client over the phone first or even through FaceTime or Skype. Some pro Cuddlers do have a good idea if the client is legit or a scam artist.

    Scam.

    Report.

  • Every cuddle pro i been with have never ask me for deposit so if some ever ask me for one i would be very concerned cuz theres so many factors i could come up with to see it as a scam so just be care and fallow your gut

  • I would say pro should ask for deposit if booking a room for session(s). Or if it’s to be a session of 3 or more hours. The amount up to them but you can negotiate deposit price or opt not to participate.
I had several sessions booked and confirmed for weekend traveled paid room. 1 showed. If I had asked for deposit maybe more would have showed and not wasted my time and money.
Sessions held in house or local no deposit needed.
You shouldn’t have to pay nonpro at all. Not for babysitter, gas or anything tell them to change status to pro if they want compensated.

  • @mokissia I agree with a deposit if a pro has to get a room to accommodate a client. Other than that I will not pay a deposit. And it is not because I am cheap. It is because I never see a pro offer a partial refund if they are bad at their job. And there have been some pros that were bad—cuddlers that fell asleep right away, BO, just laying there, etc.

  • I would never give a deposit unless a hotel room was included, which I would never use. As a client there is the same risk as a pro cuddler it's part of business. I would think it's a scam if I was asked to give a Deposit!

  • @FunCartel The other reason I may ask for deposit if someone booked twice and cancelled or no-showed. Then I want proof they are serious.
FYI This pro has discounted sessions before when for sessions I felt it was lacking do to me being Tired or sick.
Did you speak up and tell them their service was lacking?

  • @mokissia I cut the session short on one and woke the other up and sent her on her way. And while you may discount sessions, these two were quick to say I still needed to pay them or they would turn me in. Neither one is active any longer.

Looking back I would have only paid them for the time they were there. Now I am better at screening pros and I also use non-pros more often. The pros I do see I generally have seen before and they are fantastic. But the bad ones I get back at when some guys I have pm’d or they have pm’d me in the past get the low down from me. The roots pros do not see below ground are what put the bad ones out of business. And vice versa—I have hyped up the really good pros via PM.

  • I think the only time id ask for a deposit would be if being booked for more than 3 hours. Ideally if someone cancels a session, they should pay an amount due to canceling last minute but it wouldn't be of that amount. Either way, I know some pros do ask for deposits due to cancelations prior but if the ones messaging you are not labeled as pro here, they shouldn't be requesting any sort of payment and you can report them.

  • @shybrit, to second what @MissX said, if they are NOT pros, they should not be asking for deposits or monetary exchange of any kind and need to be reported. If any Pros did contact you asking for a deposit before your session, then that's a whole different story. Some Pros will ask for deposits, some won't. If you're not comfortable with the idea of giving a deposit, then find a professional that fits your needs :) Good luck, and happy cuddling!

  • @melancholy did your first time leaving a deposit for a pro Cuddler session go bad ?
