I know Im "out of season" but what are you thankful for? All Comments welcome :)
Im Thankful for My two kids. They light up my saddest days and my 4 yr old even teaches me patience in more ways than one sometimes! And she is a natural hugger and cuddler!

  • I'm thankful for God's grace and daily encounters of beautiful people. I'm thankful for a sound mind and loving heart. I'm thankful for my family, friends, and co workers. I'm thankful for growth and hope ?

  • I’m thankful for the inexorable march of time, the inevitable surcease of consciousness, and our species’ insignificant place in an indifferent cosmos.

  • I'm grateful the growing season is finally here in my area!

  • @DaForceofNature As a male I was grateful for that in puberty, but unsure as to how far away I needed to stand.

  • Totally inappropriate, @FunCartel , and HYSTERICAL. Bwaaahahaha!

  • I'm thankful for a great support system.

I don't really do thankfulness. It carries a connotation of indebtedness that I don't like—who am I thanking, and how much do I owe?

When I step out of doors and the sky is clear and the stars are bright, I'm not thankful. I'm pleased. Nice weather isn't a gift, it's a random happenstance. And I enjoy it. When I step into my library and look at all my books, I'm not thankful. I'm deeply satisfied. My actions got me those books, and my efforts were worthwhile. When I ate a piece of salmon at my sister's house the other night, I wasn't thankful. I was very happy. I'm glad I have the kind of sister who enjoys feeding me.

There's also a connotation of relief: "I'm so thankful for such-and-such a thing (because if I didn't have it, things would be bad)!"

I'm not the type of person who thinks about life that way. What I have, I have. If it goes away I'll do without. I enjoy the stuff I have, and a lot of it would be a real pain to have to do without—but I don't doubt that I could if I had to. I appreciate this stuff. I'm glad I have it. But I'm not thanking anyone for it.

That said, I'm super pleased about finally getting to go to Japan.

  • Congratulations On getting to go to Japan @DarrenWalker Id love to go there some day as well, My Motorcycle is Japanese!
