Pic and bio

I sometimes wish people had to have a pic and bio to be here. I’m sure folks will say there are good reasons not to, but at almost 50 I find living authentically and out loud is the only way to go for me and that others would benefit greatly by doing the same. I will also say I have met some fantastic folks without a pic here.

  • Well that would suck cause then I wouldn't be able to be here.

I always send a pic when I send a message and I do not have trouble getting cuddlers nor do they have an issue with how I do it. You do not know everyone’s circumstance and your supposition that it would work for others is completely off base. I have explained my situation to people I message and cuddle and they fully understand. I would say good for you on how you do it but do not try and force your whims and philosophy on me if I do not want it.

Let’s just say that in my career I am paid EXTREMELY well but I work for an EXTREMELY conservative family that would freak the freak if they saw me on here. You cannot account for situations until you have walked in everyone’s shoes. I am sure there are thousands of situational variations out there.

  • What if "living out loud" isn't authentic for someone? Just because it works for you, doesn't mean "that others would benefit greatly by doing the same".

  • @BrianL ?Thank you for saying it more succinctly than I did.

I agree with all the responses!

You have the option to not message photoless members. As well as not accept message from especially, to make it easier by writing on your profile a sentence or two for example: “I prefer to connect with members who have photo of themselves on their profile."

If someone is compatible with the most important things on my profile, I barely care how they look. So, I accept their contact then, once we are both comfortable video call with the person.

We all have our own way, reasons, and comfort. What about not feeling comfortable with upfront sharing photos is "unauthentic" to you?

  • @Lovelight I agree ~ The amount of messages I get that I sense 'ill-intent' from is high enough without a profile picture, I'm afraid to find out how bad it could get if I had one up-front. Only my 'friends' here know what I look like.

I think it's a personal thing. First, let's entirely disregard the "trolls" or dishonest actors out there. That leaves us with a collection of decent human beings who are looking for cuddles (and nothing else) locally.

Among that collection of people, some will not want to share a photo of themselves for various privacy reasons or shyness reasons or some sort of internal self-esteem issue they're struggling with, or - some other reason, I don't know, if they're a decent person with good motives, it's not my business. Among that collection of same people, there will be those who are ok with a profile picture because... well, I dunno. They're not too bothered by it or they want to share one just because.

I am not a woman but I do have some sense of what it must be like to not be able to tell the difference between an empty profile of someone with good intentions vs. an empty profile of someone who does not have good intentions. I can also see how a profile with a photo and some info filled out can get you closer toward determining if that person may have good intentions or not (still a gamble, but less so than a completely blank profile).

    That's my two cents anyway.

There have been many threads outlining the valid reasons why some people cannot post photos. I have lots of photos in my profile (some visible to friends only) but they haven't attracted any cuddlers. I'm actually thinking of removing them because they don't seem to serve any purpose.

  • @AllYouGuys You all have valid opinions. @Worthy started her post with the words “I sometimes wish...” So she is entitled to wish, even if it is only sometimes. A couple of you simply explained why that wouldn’t work for you. Cool. But a couple almost went into attack mode because she expressed an opinion. Not cool.

  • @mickcuddle that is exactly correct. If @worthy expressed her feelings on the subject there is no need to feel attacked and no need to defend yourself in an aggressive manner. I would rather see a picture and read a little info off hand myself. I was reluctant to share my picture as well but i did because i thought i wouldn’t get any attention. That may have backfired but who knows.

  • @BashfulLoner I am not looking to garner attention with my profile. That is the whole point—women can sit back with a pic and reel interested parties in. Men have to hunt and instead of prettying up my profile I put most of my effort into messages and attaching photos to said messages. Here, I will even share my photo so you will have an idea.

  • Some people feel endangered by the idea that some/one think(s) others have to have a photo to be here. The idea that they have to "live loud" and that "others would benefit greatly" is off putting to many. It's not necessarily that "others would benefit greatly." Though, that it'd benefit OP/and the like, who seems to fail/dismiss to consider people's reasons. As well as, understand that there are more than her/one way to do things: well. Different ways, suit different people.

So, I can understand how this can rub some people the wrong way.

@EarthlyAngel003 sorry to hear that, I can understand how tough that can be. Do what makes you comfortable: when it makes you comfortable.

  • @Lovelight ? Exactly. Unsolicited advice is just that...unsolicited.

  • @FunCartel there are such things as fake photos, anyway. So personally, I find best to video call+speak with the person for a bit, when we are comfortable/ready. If someone can't have some patience, and disregards my comfort. Then, it'll not workout.

@Lovelight you are right. I have asked if the photos are recent sometimes because they do not jive with their listed age and I have received radio silence when I ask. I like texting back and forth or a call. I do not like video call because I live in a nudist colony.

J/K I don’t like Face Time because I do not like the way I look on it. As you can see by my pic above my pic correlates to my age.

@FunCartel just tried checking out your profile, and it told me I blocked you. That's STRANGE. lol. I've no idea how it happened! I unblocked you, though.

Many times, I was said to look quite younger than my age. So, I encounter my bit of troubles here, and there. It doesn't end there, though. I also look androgynous. The latter I was told ever since I could remember. With people asking "is that a boy or a girl?" That carried on with me to adult-hood.

Them not responding is suspicious, though.

Now it's at our finger tips that a man can make himself/his photos look like a woman/vice versa. Edit: there's even one that'll make people look like a baby. Though, when they include more aging range, it has the potential to be misused, and create issues. end of edit. So, while it's important to not jump to conclusions. It's also important to be cautious.

What gets me are the women whose photos have fake ears and noses. I'm sure it's a laugh between friends but to use those in a profile photo?

  • @UKGuy be careful. These are probably taken with snapchat. Snapchat now has a gender change feature. So, a man can make himself look like a woman instantly. Likewise the other. I am not a Snapchat fan though, some find it a little fun.

Am I right in assuming that profiles without a photo never appear in the 'new cuddlers' banner? I've never seen one there and I know there are tons of new cuddlers with no photo. Do they appear as a new cuddler once they post a photo, or do they forever remain anonymous as a new cuddler?

  • @Lovelight - Don't be concerned, I would never message a person who thinks they look cute as a rabbit.

  • @UKGuy I think everyone appears though, I am not sure, either. I wonder if you noticed me when I first joined. Although, I do have some kind of a photo.

lol. Yeah, rabbits are out of their league.
