Fool me twice

edited June 2019 in General

I’ve just been stood up by the same guy twice. So irritated. I showed up clean, smelling good and happy. Not ok.

  • I agree. That’s the worst. I can’t stand dishonest people, jerks and game players. No one has time for that ?

I am so sorry to hear this! I've been there multiple times, and can understand how painful it can be.

I just basically told the previous guy I spoke about here recently: that I wish him well. After being ghosted. He Edit: apologized, and end of edit. explained his reasoning "being so caught up with work" I don't understand much as he had like 4 days to respond a sentence or two saying he's unable to meet me. I don't find it reasonable, and can't do unreliability.

Before him, I've been led on for months by a guy who said he "runs 3 companies, looks after his 80+ year old grandma, and unwell father" pretty sure most, if not all was a sob story he made up. He kept on cancelling on me, and once stood me up.

It's a story of its own. Though, I had a level of naïveté that contributed a bit. Or so. We* ended up reconnecting. I believed him, tried to be understanding, and wanted to try to make things work. I broke up with him around midway. Then, went back. Though, after that one actually being stood up: I was pretty much near done.

Eventually, after being led on more. He came clean about it basically saying: "Due to your disability I am uncomfortable to be seen with you in public though, when I can host you can come over. I already have friends, and don't need any more."

Edit: the friendship part was when he seemed not so bad to me. I enjoyed conversing with him, and suggested til he can host: we could hangout some times. end of edit.

I wasn't having any of that. So, I never looked back to him since. Nor let him toy with me, and my emotions, anymore.

  • Also, he had no issue chitchatting. Talking about wanting to cuddle with me, asking what I like, all that jazz with no action. No genuity. That's a pattern I noticed with a guy. Or two others, as well. Now I've a policy that I don't get into such chitchat unless we meet a second time.

After months we met once which he kept real short because "his work". Said, he'd like to see me, again. Then, he went back to his old trashy, inconsiderate, and uncaring behavior.

Though, anytime I raised a real discussion about meeting up. Or anything like that. He'd go days without responding. Or give some flipflop of a response. Which I got better at reading through them, and finally he came clean about it. Looking back on it, I also learned that he'd try to engage me in inappropriate conversations through manipulation. Though, while I was in the moment I didn't quite understand it that way. Others must've understood, and took action: he eventually got banned.

@Lovelight - like your profile, it's refreshingly open and candid. Nice.

  • And you were smelling good! The nerve

  • @roamer1999 thank you! Yours is well written, as well. ?

  • I wish we had a list of people who exhibit bad behavior.

  • Can not take it personal,,,just move ahead and try not to let it happen again

  • @Bossman27703 it’s not us who make it happen. :P

  • Theres nothing worse, it happens alot, Ive heard stories and experienced it myself. It doesnt make it easier. I will never book a room at a hotel until someone is entering the hotel with me unless I'm vacationing. Sorry you had to deal with that

  • @happybear that’s a good idea!

  • Could give bad karma

  • I've never been stood up. But, if I were I would just move on to the next cuddler. Same thing if a cuddler just doesn't answer me.

@pmvines good idea. Except the latest person that ghosted me: apologized recently, and seems to feel bad about it. So, it’s forgiven. I just hope they’ll do better for the next person.

  • I had that happen and I simply stated how he would have to pay deposit before any talking or planning a session. He paid half session fee for second session missed and showed for third.

  • Terrible!
