Not a huge deal to me, but maybe lay-off on closing forum strings. A year ago, it seems, one or two a month would warrant that. Since the change in moderation staffing, they are closed silly-billy, almost daily.
I am a newbie here but I like reading the challenges and issues that people like me run into. I am a male non-pro. The pros only suggestion is a bit short sighted. Why would I want the people who are charging doing all the talking? What is that saying? Like putting a Fox in charge of the chicken coop.
I like the forum also. You get to see more of people's personalities and you can talk to others in other parts of the world in a casual setting. Maybe I'll start some silly weird threads that won't invite snark. Think that's possible?
@Wesk - no-one is forcing you to view or contribute to the forums. And professionals are not the only ones paying for this site. How about the non-pros who HIRE the professionals, without whom all the professionals would be out of business?
?
I never understood the kids question. It doesn't matter to me unless they will weirdly be in the room with us. That's what gives the elusion of being a dating sight
@UKGuy , you make an excellent point about where the funds that support this site come from.
I'd love the option of being able to mute my profile for more than a week at a time! I don't want to deactivate but I'm happy cultivating the conversations that I'm having right now. Every time my muting expires I end up getting flooded with messages.
Maybe I'm doing things wrong, but I can't keep up
SUGGESTION TO THE APP.... Please change the uncommon date format that you use. Most widely used date format is... Month/day/year. The one you use is very confusing. Thanks, Kellykid
@Kellykid That is a very american centric thing to say but i guess it can't hurt to have in the options 2 date formats or maybe detect your location and give you the corresponding date format.
I like YYYY/MM/DD. America is weird ? DD/MM/YYYY us weird also...
Why would I want the people who are charging doing all the talking? What is that saying?
@HugsAndAttitude Consider that although pros do charge for their services, they can also speak as enthusiasts if they indeed have ever been one. I may be a pro on this site, but I do have a couple of friends (one whom has mentored me a bit) offline that I get together and cuddle with from time to time. Since I can't have an enthusiast profile here as a pro, I even bit the bullet and joined "Brand X" (that other knockoff site) to see if I can ever find a female friend and cuddle partner since it's been a very long time. So to speak I've got one foot in the pro shoe, and another in the enthusiast shoe! I feel for you folks, it's NOT easy.
With that said, I think you're definitely right in that sometimes we can stick our noses into discussions which aren't aimed at pro experiences, but then again, this is a forum. Anyone can contribute wherever they like.
I never said pros could not contribute. But the original post proposed pros only on the forums. I would not be interested in that at all.
@HugsAndAttitude Ah, I just re-read his post. My apologies for getting the context muddled. Yeah, that is not a good idea in my opinion. Cuddle Comfort stands apart from other sites because of its forum.
I see more in your face type of aggressive bully behavior being thrown than any real substance except by the professionals. None of us can truly understand what another person is going through unless we have walked a mile in their shoes. Get rid of all these useless threads, allow only professionals to run the site or give us widgets so we get to control what we view and cannot view.
@Wesk
Let's not mute a big chunk of the population. Rather, let's have action taken against people who seemingly aren't here to cuddle but to stir the pot on a daily basis. This used to be a nice place to come and chat about a year ago.
New user to the site, here.
The Facebooker/Redditor in me keeps wanting to hit "Like" or "Upvote" on forum comments, just as a simple "I agree with this statement" poke.
Speaking of "pokes", something like that might be useful for users who are too shy to start up conversations themselves. Maybe a "hugs" button instead?
This is just a pipe dream that'll go nowhere, but it'd be funny to see this site integrate our Netflix watch lists- "Oh, you're watching the new season of (mumbles), too!?" And, more realistically, a playlist feature for your favorite cuddle music. Sure, we could just link to a YouTube playlist in the About Me, but having a dedicated playlist feature would be cool.
Unsure if this is already a thing but, in addition to "Karma", it'd be nice to have an optional "review/comment" feature when giving Karma.
I agree that 30 days of inactivity should warrant a reminder email, another after a full 60 days, and after 90 days, an "inactive" marker on the profile thumbnail.
Somebody else mentioned getting pinged, whenever somebody from your area joins the site. Couldn't agree more.
Obviously, I'm not going to read through all 43 pages of comments here... In one sitting. But if I think of something else while reading, I'll be back.
Cuddle on.
@Kellykid The default should indeed be MM/DD/YY and you can change it in your Settings page.
EDIT: Date format will be looked at soon in order to be best suited for everyone.
@mickcuddle The balance of what topics should be moderated vs being allowed to run free is regularly on my mind. I strongly believe in open discussion in order for a community to thrive. We get so many forum reports that it can perhaps warp one's perspective and make it a challenge to know what strikes the right balance. We probably get it wrong a lot. Frustratingly many of these reports are just people being upset at controversial opinions but that is not a reason to report unless it is expressed with disrespect.
I think there should be a "cuddles with: everyone" search option added when you are looking up profiles in your area. As I see it (correct me if I'm wrong somehow), you can only choose "cuddles with: men" or "cuddles with: women" as search criteria.
@Catloaf: I agree. It's tough for me to find people who cuddle with 'other'....
@Catloaf @DarrenWalker I agree... though this was looked into previously and from what I recall, it surprisingly came with a lot of technical complexity at a foundational level. So as it's fairly unimportant, it was put to one side.
Update
@Mark: Weird. Programs can be so weird. Yeah, you're right—it's not a huge deal, and if it's that much of a pain? Nope, not worth it.
Secondary locations! Sweet.
I also, love the main colors they are simple, and calming. ?
Don't mind me, I just have a thing for user testing, UI/UX, sites, and apps. Keep up the good work all! Good to also recognize the work being done, though. ?
@Mark non-binary people need acceptance and support more than anyone. I wouldn't dismiss it as not very important, and encourage adding some feature that demonstrates inclusion. The secondary location is a great addition, Thank you! I would really love to see a feature for pros that shows a calendar with location and availability on any particular day. I've had to regretfully decline to meet so many great people because I couldn't justify the time and expense of travel, but could have if I had another booking in the area. This might be more of a socal problem, but just going 30 miles away can be an all day Odyssey.
@biancalovecraft Acceptance of non-binary people is indeed important which is why we integrated the additional gender options into profiles and search last year -- many websites have not. When I mention importance, I'm only referring to demand, as that is typically how we prioritise upcoming site updates, along with the expected work involved.
Agree with your feedback - I'd eventually like there to be a calendar feature.
@Lovelight Thank you. P.s. I've merged your topic into here.
@Mark On the search form, clicking on "Location near -> Somewhere else" no longer brings up the "Change location" text box to enter a location (under Firefox 67.0.2). It still works OK on my phone though (Android / Chrome).
Should be ok now?
Hello. Is it just me or is the website on mobile really buggy?
Risk of bugs do tend to be much higher after a bulk update is pushed, so possibly not just you.
Can you elaborate? Device, browser and what happens?
Well when I search for cuddlers, the most recent online aren’t updated, it’s just stuck like it’s frozen. On a mobile device
What above poster said is also an issue I'm having
