Becoming friends

So I’ve cuddled a few pros and became friends with them outside of the cuddling. There’s 3 of them that I now hang out with and go to dinner and stuff. But none of don’t seem to like to cuddle or even have me hold them or be close to them while we’re out. They’ll cuddle with me if I pay them but otherwise they don’t. Maybe I’m reading too much into it and they are just friends ? Or they aren’t interested in me?

This isn’t a dating site. With that being said I know that people hook up, date or even get married through this website—it is naive to think it doesn’t happen. But the majority of the pros are providing a service and if you become friends, that is great, but you are taking it to a romantic level and romantic cuddling is a two way street where both parties must feel the same way for it to work. So it sounds like you are in the friend zone and they do not have romantic feelings for you.

What you have effectively done is ruin the best part of the platonic cuddling by reading the situation all wrong. I think—and I could be wrong but I do not think so—they will be more apprehensive when they cuddle because they will now interpret and assess every hug and caress to cipher if you are signaling romantic intent rather than the platonic one.

  • Just because the op wants some friendly cuddles outside of the pro situation doesn’t mean he’s thinking romantically does it?

If you became friends with your auto mechanic, would you expect him to want to change your oil for free? If you became friends with your CPA, would you expect him to do a little of your taxes for free? Expecting a pro cuddler to cuddle you for free is taking unfair advantage of a friendship.

I also agree with @FunCartel. You're making assumptions about romantic intent.

  • Some of my good friends are paid cuddlers . Some I cuddle with as a friend , but not all and I certainly don't expect that . I am a social worker with background in counseling and therapy . Though I'm happy to help friends when I can , my job is very draining and I want a change of pace when not working . It's the same for all trades . So just cus a friend of yours might be a cuddler doesn't mean they don't have other interests and facets to their lives . They may want to cuddle up with you sometime who knows , but I'm sure they want a break from that and sounds like you are welcome relief and change of pace for them. You have made some friends , and seems you are important to them so enjoy your friendship , regardless of context and pretense

  • Also if they have already seen you as a client , they are likely keeping that separate from their personal relationship with you . Maintaining those boundaries.is not always easy

Three minutes, three hours, three days, and three weeks.

Once those needs have been met, virtually every other problem stems from relationships, money, or the weird ways those things mix.

Those things that blur those lines will, of course, cause confusion.

    Thinking the same as @BlueIris

There are a lot of reasons professionals don't generally provide services for free to friends or family, discounts maybe but rarely free outside of emergencies where delayed payment is expected.

The idea of discounts and favouritism based on friendship on a site that's about fulfilling people's need for human contact and connection puts a bad taste in my mouth, and having it provided for free would be unfair to both the pro cuddler and any other clients they might have.

Bit of a strange idea to think about because cuddling isn't too easily equatable with any other kind of service but the reasoning for why professional cuddlers do what they do generally remains consistent with those of other professions.
