Public cuddles?

I see a lot of people on here with public cuddling as an option. Meeting up in public makes sense for safety reasons but is there really cuddling going on out and about? I mean, is it really like hi nice having coffee and snuggling with you on the bench at the local coffee house?

  • No, it’s all a grand conspiracy.

"Actually, uh, there is no cuddling taking place here. This is supposed to be a weekly meetup for local Ultimate Frisbeers and Dodgeballers. Nobody was really interested in that, though."

On a serious note, I don't really know what kind of answer you're expecting but yes, people can and do cuddle in public. I don't think a lot of people end up going through with it with someone they've just met . People often think it's a good idea until they realise it might procure some nasty glances from onlookers who might get a different picture about what's going on. Or it could just mean that they are open to meeting in public, not necessarily cuddling in public.

  • I have in fact met at a a park and cuddled on a park bench or in a movie theater (at clients request). My public meetings have been very relaxed and comfortable on both ends. I am unable to host but have no problem with a public cuddle.

I would public cuddle but not in the small town I live in.

I don't need rumors circulating about me lol.

I agree about the public cuddling. It will definitely help break the ice for future cuddling indoors.

Public cuddling IS possible you do have to be creative though

I can not host often but most of my cuddling is in public. Weather depending I have cuddled at parks, beaches, movie theatres, library, coffee shops, and furniture stores. The location will vary on what is available and what the parties can agree on doing.

  • Yes. I have cuddled in the park. We had a picnic and then cuddled on a blanket in the shade near other people sun bathing. I really enjoyed it, as did my partner and we keep our eyes peeled for parks that would be pleasant for this.

  • I have cuddled in a park too and really enjoyed myself. It was not so warm that there were too many people, but it was warm enough when you had someone to cuddle with - quite interesting temperature mix :D
Didn't have any problems with people around, I can't even remember seeing some because I kept my eyes shut most of the time.

  • That was my first session since neither she nor I could host.

  • I have cuddled at a movie theatre before. It was a first time cuddle. He didn't want to come to my place but couldn't host due to roommates so we cuddled at the movie theatre. Nobody really cares or pays attention at the movie theatre as long as you're not being obnoxious.

  • Possible public places to make it interesting:

    1. Confessional booth at a church
    2. In the gallery at a courthouse
    3. Dog park
    4. Community pool (hydrotherapy)
    5. Senior Citizen community center
    6. Bungee jumping
    7. Zoo tram (what species will people look at? The Homo sapiens or the elephants?)
    8. At a DMV office anywhere (You know you will get at least two hours Cuddle time in before your name is called)
    9. At an art gallery imitating the position of any Madonna With Child painting they all possess.
    10. Lobby of a car dealership (Experiencing every salesman coming up and telling them your car is in service)
    11. Lobby of a hotel.
    12. Planetarium (We are all in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars).
    13. Any rollercoaster
    14. Mattress store (actually mattress store hopping. A GF and I used to do this in high school)
  • I'm sure it depends on your location and what you have access to, but I've cuddled in a park and at the beach before.
And off course I've done all 14 of the places @FunCartel listed =) :p

I guess it depends on how you cuddle in order to do it anywhere. My first thought of cuddling is opening yourself up and enveloping another person in a position that is comfortable, relaxing.

  • My favorite place to cuddle is the back row of a movie theater during a matinee showing. There's usually only a couple other people in the theater, and they'd have to turn around to see what you're doing. If you manage to hold hands for the opening credits, no one has any idea you're going to hardcore cuddle during the movie, and it's a good warmup. It also means I don't have to trust my partner enough to give him/her/them my address or to trust them enough to show up at a stranger's home. And worst case scenario: if my partner isn't respecting my boundaries at a public cuddle, I both know not to try a private cuddle and I can get help or get away if necessary. That last part, unfortunately, has been important.

  • Maybe it’s different in NY but a lot of the people I’ve seen who list “Public” cuddles as a possibility really mean they’ll meet outside to have an initial mutual comfort check, talk and get to know someone, share activities, platonic non-dates, etc.

I don’t think everyone who lists “Public” is expecting to be the big spoon on a bench in Central Park or in the back of a Starbucks. For some it’s more like platonic public affection (greeting with a hug, maybe walking arm in arm, etc.) and some kind of shared activity.

Not saying it’s not possible - some of the ideas mentioned in this thread are great. But since nobody mentioned it, I thought I’d bring it up as another way people might use the “Public” option

I am interested in how to cuddle without embracing each other in public. Would it not just be a platonic caress, massage, or the act of leaning on a part of the body that is nearest or available. I always characterized it in my mind as signs of affection not exactly cuddling in public.

  • @Softsupport I think it is whatever you and your partner are comfortable with. That is why a text or a chat beforehand eliminates confusion.

Your so right. That is exactly what I did.
