A forum section for only non-pros?

Does it make sense and is it possible to have a forum section for cuddlers that does not include pros? The Cuddle Requests forum is full of pros posting to an almost spammy amount. It's possible to filter pros out of a cuddler search, but I'd like to see a place where non-pros can communicate without the pro "ads"

    @James536 As a pro, I agree with you about the Cuddle Requests section. It has turned into an advertising space and people are noticeably not really posting there anymore. They are probably thinking it is just a place to go if you're looking for a paid session. I think pro ads should be off-limits for that section unless someone asks. Maybe a section for pro advertising specifically would mitigate this.

    @Catloaf I kinda figured the "Professional Cuddling" section was for pros... So yeah, there already is one, no?

    As soon you tell someone they can't THEY MUST! Would be surprised you did not have a pro totally upset by it.

    A pros interests and concerns do have some overlap with non-pros so their input on topics is sometimes valuable. However, I think any 'advertising' posts from pros should be removed by the moderators. Pros would be better off targeting people in their specific geographic area. There's nothing to stop a pro from reading a forum message, checking where that person is located, and if they are local, sending them a private message. Maybe that's why forum posts don't have the poster's location displayed.

    @Catloaf another issue on top of the fact that cuddle requests has turned into an ad space for profession cuddlers is that very few of the ad threads state in the title that it's an advertisement or in the content of the thread's opener. It's somewhat disheartening to click on a thread, see someone looking for cuddles, get that warm fuzzy feeling about potential cuddles and then seeing that they were being somewhat disingenuous.

    I understand that for a lot of professions it's probably just them being more casual, but it can come across as a bit predatory.

    An alternative to introducing a new section on the forums would be to have, as a rule, that advertising threads are clearly stated as such in the titles to make it a lot clearer who is who and what is what.

    EDIT: decided to scroll back through the forums a bit in case my memory was playing tricks on me, and the number of threads that didn't mention they were ads/by professionals wasn't as bad as I remember. Still plenty though, and with a few people doing it multiple times.

    I would gratefully support a non-pro forum area. I appreciate the pros, and that they and their clients, like me, support this site financially.

    But, this site bills itself as also being a place for enthusiasts. And enthusiasts have markedly different perspectives and motivations. Advice and input from those who do this every day is great; but sometimes it's overwhelming.

    Again -- am not anti-pro, just pro-anti. (Seeing as my only cuddles have been -- and are likely to only ever be -- with pros, I appreciate them very much!)

    I like having both non-pros and pros intermingling. If you have a topic about an issue that causes frustration or controversy it can easily turn into a gripe session or a case of preaching to the choir. In those threads having only half the picture eliminates a unique perspective. Gotta have both.

    I plan trips to areas I am not currently listed in on CC, so that's the only time I use the forum for letting people know I'm wanting to come to a certain area. But I also put in the title that I am a professional cuddler (if I ever, fail, please let me know!). On that note, I would definitely support having a non-pro seeking section specifically. They should be separate, and I think it makes sense to be very restrictive as for what and how much professionals can advertise in their section. I never post in there for my home areas, only when people may not be able to find me because my profile lists me as somewhere else. But I think these two forums should be open to all (sometimes professionals are seeking non-professional buddies =), only that the non-professional forum have professionals seeking payment completely banned, no excuses. Those are my thoughts =)

    Don't forget that pros can also speak as enthusiasts, as well, though. :) I wonder if this thread should be moved as it could be an improvement to the site.

    I agree it may be a good thing to have a classified type section for paid cuddlers if they wish to promote themselves in the forum . Seems like it would streamline things a bit and make it easier for both sides of the coin .

    I don't blame someone for promoting in the requests section as there really is no dedicated area for this . As @Catloaf said , the pro forum is for discussion of related topics , not for advertising of services .

    But at the same time, if it's TOO advertisement feeling, then few people will look. I have never liked it when professionals have posted in that forum periodically for the exact same thing, exactly where their profile is. It feels commercially. I don't know :-/

    Right. I just kind of feel like it's superfluous to utilize that forum for posting your existence as it already displays in your profile. Frankly, it's the same thing as non-professionals just posting looking for someone in the location their profile already exists. If anyone is looking for someone, they're going to search in their radius and any information you post in the forum about yourself should just go on your profile for people to read. I don't really get it 😇 🤔 I need to use it when I'll be places my profile is not, but I would feel kind of annoying if I posted in there periodically just pointing out my existence. I don't know...

    I think a forum exclusive to non-professionals is unnecessary. For the that is the general everyone forum. Where do we stop creating forum sections? Gender preferences?, Weekend vs. weekday? Political spectrum? Yep, I'm being facetious. I think things work the way they are.

    I think we need a forum for banned members. It would be easy for Mark because he would not need a moderator for it.
