New here! And I have some questions

Hello! I just recently joined, I'm not really familiar with how things work here.

Is my profile pic okay? It said to only use a picture of yourself, but I'm a very privacy-conscious person, and instead of having the default picture until I share something else with someone I'm comfortable with, I wanted something that would still give people an idea of who I am, and I feel like this picture does that pretty well (plus it's IA ♥), except for that I'm a guy. I also wouldn't want that to confuse people, would it?
(Also why is it cropped like I want on my profile but not in the forums?)

Also, as I said earlier, I'm a very private person and it would take a lot longer than a few messages back and forth before I was comfortable meeting someone in person. In fact I'd prefer to talk for a month or more, and then video chat, before we agreed to meet. Is this acceptable around here?

    Ignore the previous stupid response (which I reported and was removed). It's perfectly ok. And no-one says you have to meet anyone at all unless you want to. I'd advise you to change the minimum age on your profile to at least 18 though otherwise people may draw the wrong conclusions about you.

    @PlushHeart You have a reason for being here and you should not let the pressure of immediacy stress you, as that will only complicate your way to relaxation. If you need a familiarity to make you feel comfortable before cuddling then do it, as relaxation will guide you to the autobahn of bliss.

    @UKGuy Alright, changed it! I didn't realize that would seem weird, since I'm only four years away from it. Is there a 18+ only rule? Or just because I'm over 18? I was concerned that saying 18 at the least would give the wrong impression.

    I’m not trying to pressure you, or be mean. But talking for a month is a high expectation for a site like this.
    Majority of men I have met on here are always working, are married, and usually only talk within a few days of meeting.
    If you are not comfortable with the situation you never have to agree to meet at all, but I can tell you that clientele will be slim pickings.
    I would also recommend an actual profile picture, I’m honestly not sure how you actually got away with an anime picture anyway.
    But them seeing you and how you look helps gets sessions booked, sometimes without even speaking to them.

    Ps: if your to uncomfortable to show off a profile pic or needing to talk with someone for a month before meeting, this may not be a site for you, because the talking is the easiest part, clientele being inappropriate is a 50/50 shot and the site doesn’t automatically block them when you report them being inappropriate, they open a “case”

    @PlushHeart: I think your profile pic is great—a real improvement on the default "no pic" image. I wouldn't mind having that as the default!

    As far as confusing people goes, on the forums it can be tough to tell what gender/s people are no matter what picture they're using. If somebody really wants to know, they can just visit your profile, and the relevant information's right there at the top! Not confusing at all... at least, I wouldn't think so.

    Dunno about the cropping, but it looks like you got that figured out.

    And when it comes to messaging, well, I've spent more time chatting with people on here than I have cuddling anyone on the site! This is a great place for making friends, and if at some point you're able to meet up and cuddle—awesome.

    Everyone's got different ideas about how long they want to talk before meeting. For me, with the right person conversation is almost like cuddling already; it's like brain-cuddling or something. A month of that would be great even if it didn't lead to an in-person meeting. I... might be the only one on here who feels like that, for all I know, but at least there are plenty of people who don't mind sending messages back and forth with me!

    Since you like Endgame, I'm guessing you enjoy Code Geass? It's been ages since I watched that. Thanks for reminding me about it!

    Unfortunately I think @klayaray misunderstood the situation (possibly partly due to @PlushHeart 's misleading profile pic) and is giving advice as though @PlushHeart is a pro female cuddler rather than a non-pro male cuddler.

    @PlushHeart, here's my advice: you don't have to have a pic of yourself in your profile. But don't use a picture of a woman; some people will find that weird or misleading. And you will need to send a real pic when you start messaging people.

    I don't know what part of MO you're in, but for instance notice that near Kansas City, MO, there is exactly 1 non-pro woman in your age range on the site. So it may be that none of this matters; if there's nobody available, that's the end of the road.

    Regarding the messaging for a month thing, that is unfortunately not realistic. If you want to cuddle non-pros, there are simply so few women on the site that you can't afford to be choosy at all. You need to cuddle anyone who is willing to cuddle you, and not many people are going to want to exchange that many messages. And as for pros, forget it. That would just be a pure waste of time in their eyes. Although I suppose if you've got money to burn, they might be willing to text back and forth for a fee until you're comfortable.

    Hm, opinions seem to go both ways. I guess I'll stick around and see if anything comes up!

    Indeed, there's hardly anyone within 50 miles of me to begin with :anguished: But making friends sounds great as well!

    The cropping fixed itself, I guess it took the forum a minute to catch up.
