As a cuddling website, I don't think the site should allow the marketing of any service other than cuddling. Some of the profiles I've seen cross the line into escort services. Charging for a phone call, for a coffee date or a dinner date or advertising yourself as a 'travelling companion' are inappropriate on a cuddling website in my opinion..
@BashfulLoner You were not one of the ones I was talking about. There are some that consistently bash the concept of paying someone. Having reasons not to is not complaining, it is just how you handle whether or not to hire someone.
@UKGuy How are the services you listed escort services? Do you have experience with escorts?
@FunCartel - They are the type of services advertised by escort agencies. They have nothing to do with cuddling.
Since it seems to be where this topic is drifting...
es·cort noun /ˈesˌkôrt/ 1. a person, vehicle, or group accompanying another for protection or as a mark of rank. "a police escort" synonyms: guard, bodyguard, protector, safeguard, defender, minder, custodian...
verb /iˈskôrt/ 1. accompany (someone or something) somewhere, especially for protection or security, or as a mark of rank. "Shiona escorted Janice to the door" synonyms: conduct, accompany, guide, convoy, lead, usher, shepherd, take, direct, steer...
Our culture has adopted the liminal slang usage of “escort”, meaning a paid social companion with a nod and a wink expectation of sex.
Because liminal slang is involved, of course our meanings become confused.
And because sex is involved, that confusion becomes emotionally and socially charged.
@ukguy Then by extension you should not game, watch tv or anything else besides cuddling. I think it is an overreach to say it is escorting. To imply that it is is to imply that those offering it are hookers. That in itself is a nebulous form of misogyny.
FunCartel you seem to get real offended real easy over other peoples opinions. Why are you so defensive?
@FunCartel - you seem to have a predisposition for accusing people of saying things they haven't said. I merely said offering a dinner date or travelling companion for payment is a service advertised by escort agencies. In my opinion, it de-legitimizes this site as a cuddling site. I never equated escorts with hookers, it was you who did that. Any implication beyond what I said is in your own mind.
@Kense and @UKGuy
If you feel so strongly about pros offering other services besides cuddling on this site, why don't you just you leave the site? As long as they are not sexual services and they are complimentary to cuddle sessions they are allowed.
Furthermore, you derailed this thread about discussing inappropriate profiles. Your critiques of the website would better be served in the topic "Suggestions and ways this website can be improved" as opposed to this one.
My whole reason for bringing this up is because I thought this was a cuddle site, not an ala carte fee for services site. Where does it end? While there may be an extremely small amount of people qualified to verbally counsel somebody most people here are not licensed therapists. Yet they are charging people who may be in need of serious help for those services.
Why should I leave? The whole love it or leave it thing is non-sense. This is a discussion forum, you're not going to like everybody's opinions. You can't just hope all the things you don't agree with go away. It's a valid discussion.
Regardless, @Kense , you are steering this topic of course. This is for discussing inappropriate profiles.
@kense Not offended. I find it a waste of time to complain about pros. Just do not use them if it bothers you that much.
@UKGuy I did not attribute anything to you that you did not say. Saying “by extension” is extrapolating and expanding what you said via logic. It is similar to saying “if you mean that then you must mean this as well.” You must have a predisposition about not thinking too deeply about what is said.
BTW, an escort is a hooker. Escort is just a “classier” title for doing the same work. That is not me making that distinction—it is pretty common knowledge.
@kense Your post about people not qualified to counsel is flawed. First, I have yet to see a profile where someone is charging for mental health counseling. I have seen them say they will listen. Second, it is not their job to determine who is in need of mental health counseling in the sentence where you state “Yet they are charging people who may be in need of serious help for those services.” The pros are charging for their time. How much is your time worth is a basic tenet of modern society. That is what a pro cuddler does....very simple. Do not put off on Cuddle pros what is a problem with accessibility to mental health care. That is a different topic for a different site.
And please, the Cuddle pros I have seen or read their profiles are simply offering their time, ear and arms for comfort. Some are better than others but I have yet to see or meet one that says they can cure mental illness. At some point those who suffer such maladies as mental health problems need to also understand that this platform can possibly offer help or relief but is not a replacement for serious therapy or hospitalization. Stop equating it with that and blaming pros.
@Kense What you are referring to as “valid discussion” is something that has already been discussed. This has already been decided on and will not change, so what is your actual goal in rehashing this again?
Additionally, people offering platonic complementary services does not make this less of a cuddle site.
Thank you, @FunCartel for your comments
Just because someone would not be interested in paying for a service does. not mean others won't find value in it . Site admin has determined this is fine and nothing wrong with it . It is not for the site users to determine . I may not pay for these services myself , but nothing really wrong with it being offered . Some of it may seem like nickel and diming but it doesn't mean it's illegal or not otherwise allowed .
@pmvines Well said and simply put.
Liminal language—lol. That is misogynistic bs meaning you are confused when you know exactly what you want. There is no confusion. If a dinner is a dinner, then a line has not been crossed. All this parrying about word meanings are ways of blaming the woman when nothing will happen unless you try to make it happen.
The only paid service that should be allowed on this site is platonic cuddling. Anything else such as phone calls, coffee dates, aquarium trip, etc. shouldn’t be a service. That is kind of escorty.
@Kense Thanks for spreading the truth man.
Question to the professionals or moderators...
For those professionals that do offer dinners, phone calls, movies, and so on, how is that all booked via this site?
Are there separate categories to select in the booking menu?
Is an hour long phone chat prepaid, same as a cuddling session?
@CuddlesInParis Again it is only an escort thing if YOU cross a line. Pretty simple.
What in essence everyone who is calling this an”escort thing” is saying is their minds think escorts when they read about paying for a dinner or something which confuses them and they may not be able to control their urges.
BS. You can control your urges and if you are that confused then do not go to dinner. Do not make a phone call. And continue with your typical patriarchal assumptions about what a woman is because they charge you for their time to go to dinner. Show some self awareness that you are in the 21st century and change your thinking.
I haven't done those services on this kinda site, but I did used to be on a friend rental site and did those things. I think that if someone asked me to, I'd figure out a rate for it and bill them through the site. I don't think it's wrong to provide those services. People like to share various parts of their life and have difficulty finding people to watch the new comic movie or try that new Iron Chef ramen place with or look at cute animals in the zoo or be shown around a city. Platonic service is platonic service, and people have more needs outside of touch.
@CharlesTwisted You are showing your ignorance over booking a pro. You are paying for time chunks, not specific services.
@Annichka Totally agree. Some of these guys need to get off the escort sites. Oops that came out wrong! ☺️
Let's not pretend some pro's haven't been busted and banned for coloring outside the lines.
From what I've read before on here two consenting adults can do what they want when they meet up. Whether it's playing Mario Kart or eating Peanut Butter crunch and watching Saturday Morning Cartoons. <---(I'm available for both, ladies!)
Escorting is not necessarily sexual. There are men that pay just for conversations, dinner and concerts. If this is Cuddle Comfort and the purpose of professionals is to offer cuddles then it should be just that. If they want to do those other things for free with the client then they should be able to do just that. Most of the users on this post agree that it’s similar to escorting. The other two users are aggressive and one is accusing those that don’t agree with him of misogyny which is his opinion btw.
@CharlesTwisted That would be kind of confusing to moderate the extra services that aren’t cuddling. The extras would probably be added to the hourly cuddle fee.
Really does it matter if they are an “escort?” You don’t have to email them or ask anything of them. Grow up and put your big boy pants on...
