What is the point of Friends on this site?

I've been on the site for a while and have a handful of Friends, but it's still not clear to me what purpose it serves to have Friends. It doesn't let you see or track any additional information about each other; it doesn't make it easier to message each other or anything like that...

I briefly thought it could be useful as a list of Favorites, but that wouldn't need to be a mutual thing, and there already is a Favorites list.

Dunno what all else it's good for, but my personal favorite is the way it lets you see when they were last online without barging into their Visitors list.

Should read : what's the point of the friend request feature on this site?

  • @Bles : "I am not sure what you mean by purpose of having friends on this site."

I understand the concept of friends in general. That's not what I'm asking about.

I'm asking specifically about the mechanism on this site for making Friend requests and having them added to your list of Friends. Unlike for instance, Friends on Facebook, it seems there is very little difference between a user who is not my Friend and a user who is. @DarrenWalker points out the only difference I'm aware of.

  • @mb0 It is honestly more a symbolic gesture really. However there are some things where it is useful. For example you can have a non public photo that is only visible to your friend list. Also if you can send an instant message to them, and it also will tell you by their name when they were last online in case you are wanting to message them etc. Other than that like I said it is really more a gesture than anything.

  • Only Friends can see photos you have marked Friends. Other members can only see pictures tagged Public

  • Overall, I like the friends list. If I want to message someone who I am interested in cuddling with I can instantly message them if they are on my list without trying to find them somewhere....especially if they are someone out of state and/or you are having a good conversation with.

  • @SpartanGuy @FunCartel yup. Nice feature—the friends only pictures. I typically only make or accept friend requests after I have cuddled with him/her/them. I think it legitimizes my profile especially bc I don’t have a public picture yet. That’s just me though.

I don’t understand the thinking behind the friend requests I get from random out-of-state women who don’t have access to my private photos nor whom I will never meet face-to-face. I think they just somewhat blindly mass-send requests with little actual regard for the recipient.
I’ve never sent one myself, but, briefly contemplated it for my preferred pro at this site. But, I couldn’t come up with a reasonable answer as to why it’d be necessary. We’re “friends” so far as me texting her regarding her availability before making an appointment here, but, I can’t imagine anything beyond that, and don’t ever bother/contact her like that unless it’s CC-related. So, I’m not really sure what “friending” each other here would accomplish/establish that we haven’t already from meeting in-person.

  • Indeed.

The Friends-only photos is a feature I wasn't aware of, so that's something. Doesn't seem like much to me though.

I think my takeaway is that, as I thought, the Friends feature isn't particularly useful. I'll stick to my previous policy: accept when anyone Friend requests me, and ignore the feature otherwise.

  • Like on most sites, it's pretty pointless.

  • So what are you guys proposing? An enemies list?

@FunCartel lol the enemies list is called the blocked list. But maybe there's another reason to have both.
But yeah the friends thing is odd. I have "friends" that don't even message back so I defriend them... Lol
