Gosh it all feels good. Once we establish boundaries and what we want in a platonic cuddle its great if the movements are all natural and organic. Then we just fit no matter the body type into whatever position. Then because of all that it’s different with every person. It’s never the same. If you like a certain position don’t MAKE it happen every time. Your limiting your cuddling experience.
The third picture on my profile has a chart of my top seven favorite cuddle positions depending on my mood or what activity we're doing. Edit: The one listed as Universal is the Lap of Luxury position @pmvines mentioned.
Any cuddle position where I can feel their hands/fingers on my skin (arms, neck, head, etc.) There is something that feels more personal about hand touching.
Big spoon, but I like to switch it up.
@pmvines The lap of luxury is one of my favorites! It's a great one for downloading after a long day, and letting someone stroke your hair/face. Definitely one of my favorites too

@FunCartel ... looking through my kitchen junk drawer , a see all kinds of instruments an utensils for specific culinary uses , that could be names for cuddling positions and activities . Skewers for shish kebabs, scoops for ice cream , and round and oval scoops and cutters to fashion fruit into little small round shapes . I wonder what a newbie to cuddling , without any knowledge of cooking and/or Garde Mange’,would think what Cuddle position or activity is the “Melon Baller”

@DonLonG I am not sure that is the same thing. She had showed me something a bit different than that. Perhaps it was a modified version I don't know. Like I said I don't get much into what things are called or really have a go to, just sort of tend to flop around til something is comfortable lol. @triskele Yes i can def see how it would be!
My favorites are mamabear-papabear, the tangle, and the side tangle, a bunch of others too. With each person, there are soo many that feel amazing. It's great when people are open to trying new positions and it being playful and fun.

I guess it depends on the cuddle and what energy the other person might need. I think it's nice to alternate as "big spoon", as it seems like big spoon is usually giving all the back rubs and its only fair.
@ donlong , yes , and all those that you mention , are done in a specific order as follows: The reverse can opener - The cuddlerguest arrives at the hosts dwelling , inside the cuddler texts to the guest that they can’t unlock their door , so the hero guest gets out his “ reverse can opener “ , and jimmies the door open .
They immediately commence with the-
Upside down meat thermometer,,, which they embrace and calculates each other’s temperature, and decide to go further depending on how each are hot or cold for one another .
Next is the “ Cheese grater “. - One has an itch anoth asks the other if they can scratch it , so , exploratory scratching , or , “cheese grating “ of skin ,with sharp fingernails is performed
... then the “ vegetable peeler” is preformed , with the desire of skin to skin is wanted , so the “ peel” off layers of clothing to get more cozy.
Bonus enthusiastic cuddling happens when the clothes peeled are actually shades of fruits and vegetables .
The final in sequence is the “ Cork screw”
