Why charge for cuddling?

[Deleted User]Beautyfulmind (deleted user)

I joined here recently after getting to know about this site for cuddling. Its good folks are able to get help with their stress anxiety and pressure in the means of cuddling. Also cuddling is a nice experience, its more or like to saying a stranger, that i am here to help you and i wont judge you for what you are going to share. But what i don’t understand is, why there is a category as professional cuddlers, are they trained with courses to become a pros? Or they just call them as professional to make some money? Or may be they charge because they offer their valuable time for others?
Then what about other normal cuddlers?

The way I see it, pro cuddlers have a valuable role for people who can't find a cuddle buddy who is an enthuasiast, or for people who want to ensure that the experience will be safe and secure. For example, if someone has broken up with a partner and feels lonely, a pro cuddler would provide a safe and supportive environment to process what they're going through - whereas trying to find an enthusiast cuddler may be more difficult, stressful and risky, especially while they are vulnerable. Pro cuddlers are also helpful for monogamous married couples where one may need some extra cuddles and support, but wouldn't want to get into a compromising situation with someone where there are no professional boundaries in place.

I've seen a pro cuddler once and it was a great experience, as it felt a lot less nerve-wracking than meeting a random from an internet site. It also felt more like a therapy session where the attention was focused on me and what I wanted to do and talk about, so I could just relax and receive. However, most of my cuddling experiences have been with enthusiasts, and I think it's ideal if it's exchanged for free. But in the society we live in, I think it's better that paid cuddlers are available, because otherwise many would not have access to cuddles at all. Also many pro cuddlers probably wouldn't have time to cuddle all the people they do if they had another job instead.

  • I fully agree with @Sunflowerfield answer but would like to add:

My favorite part of this thread is the original poster is asking an economics question, but his name is very similar to a famous movie A Beautiful Mind (2001) about how economics works. The irony is not lost here.

    pro·fes·sion·al
    /prəˈfeSH(ə)n(ə)l/
    adjective

    1. relating to or connected with a profession.
    2. engaged in a specified activity as one's main paid occupation rather than as a pastime.
  • Why charge for cuddling? Because there is a market for it. Capitalism is part of what makes this country great. Click the "hide pros" in the search features and problem solved.

  • they charge for cuddling because men will pay for it because its not easy to find a non pro to cuddle with.

  • Why charge? Because they can. If there is a market for anything people are going to take advantage of the opportunity and make money. $80 to $100 an hour is good money. If people are willing to pay that amount then why not charge that amount. If people were willing to pay $200 an hour then that would be the rate.

  • It's definitely a service. And any good service requires a fee.
I would consider the terminology professional to be a little extra or maybe a bit misleading,
There are no requirements, experience, or curriculum based acknowledgments posted or displayed anywhere.
For others to distinguish between. And also from hearing about experiences
where people received a not so professional experience from a professional would also seem somewhat misleading afterwards.

  • I'd only consider going to a pro. I'd be nervous with a non-pro about standards. Also, the woman has bills to pay so why not charge?

  • With a pro I'm not facing potential rejection. My cash is as good as anyone else's. My personality and people qualities are not. Rejection would hurt too much.

  • I see this as a very sensitive subject, you can immediately see how people react in a defensive way, rather than answering in a educative way to a valid question . I firmly believe that a big part of any business success it's based on educating customers , rather than rejecting them or blowing smoke at them .
At the end, nobody is obligated to buy a service, but the more and better information you offer to potential customers, the more attractive and better chances at attracting new and retaining regular customers.

  • @Sunflowerfield great answer !! I couldn't agree more.

  • Because being pro means you are bound to the same ethical and professionalism standard as pros in other professions. And that means, being on time, replying to communications. People will rather pay for a service than have their time wasted by a non-pro who would cancel an appointment at anytime or won't reply to communications.

  • @alphares and they'd have to spend endless emails just buttering her up to get a meeting

  • I think it’s as simple as they can. Supply and demand kind fits,

  • @melancholy you hit the nail on the head. If men are willing to pay for it, women are willing to do it.

  • Im surprised there are not more pro cuddlers on the web site. I’m not sure how the site advertises, but there aren’t many pros, or even non pro female cuddlers. That means the pros here can charge higher prices because of less competition for business.

So far all the non pro's on the site i've spoken with have tried to charge once I talked to them and they end up getting banned quick. I've yet to meet a non pro that doesn't get banned eventually .

I agree. It should be free.

  • Yes, it should be free.
You guys go ahead and dismantle the capitalist patriarchal system, and I'll throw a party in my secure housing and hug all of you.

@biancalovecraft I could get behind that campaign!

  • If it means Free cuddles I'm in support of dismantling any system :)

  • I personally don't mind paying for it, if it is helping me. Many pros have helped me with touch, feel, etc. I feel comforted by them and as long as the person is understanding and capable of wanting to do it with me, and truly make me feel better it's worth it!!

@Sunflowerfield @notcuddledyet I totally agree with you two. Also as someone who is awaiting a response from applying to be a pro. There are many things I provide like massages, aromatherapy, beverages and snacks if they want, and other tranquility items to help create a safe environment. So a fee to keep providing the best doesn't seem like a bad idea to me as I would want to do that if the roles were swapped.
And because I enjoy cuddling and keeping my stress and anxiety levels low I always want to give a discount or include some add-ins (Like my Cook and Cuddle Sessions) so they understand that the money doesn't just go to me but also gets invested back into their cuddling experience.

LOL; have you seen many pros? In my experience no-shows, last-minute cancellations, tardiness, awful communication, and blatantly unethical behavior are pretty common. Don't get me wrong; there are some pros who are great and who I'm really glad I met, but don't believe you're guaranteed a good experience just because you're paying for it.

  • @mb0 amen to that one.

  • I am a non pro who isn't charging and don't foresee doing so. I'm not here like the statue of liberty, give me your needy swarms longing to be whole, but for a mutually wholesome and generous experience. I think pros come in handy if you'd like one way attention, among many other reasons. I think there are so few of us because of all the crap it seems we have to field from boundary pushers and gropers, from what I've read, and selfish fellows who believe we're here just to serve them. I don't know how long I'll last. It will depend on how well my screening skills work and how kind and respectful you all will be with me. I've got a lot of love for men to give if I'm treated well.. If requiring being related to like a human being before pressing my body into yours without a body guard present counts as "buttering up," then yes indeedy I need that.

  • @littermate But with a non pro the "buttering up" seems to be a one way street with the man trying to get the woman to meet. I prefer to be the one being persuaded than the one doing the persuading. Mostly because I'm not good at it!

  • You don't have to pay you can find girls that will cuddle for free in the world but if you choose to pay theres a market for that

@notcuddledyet I totally hear you. It's a vulnerable position to be in. I can see how $$ levels the playing field in a way. For me, strength would level it. If I could pummel you, I'd have less of a need to be careful. If you (generic guy) weren't conditioned to orient to sex as the one holy grail with testosterone to amplify that and me as the supply, that might also level it. But it's not level and thus we women are pursued and our only helper in the mix is our instincts about who will not use that cocktail against us. And you'er stuck with your unpleasant end of it.

  • @notcuddledyet also what evidence do you have for not being good at it? My favorite quality is someone being real and genuine and you seem to be that.

  • @littermate Also if you pay you can be 100% honest and not think "this is what I'd like to say but if I say it I'll blow my chances of meeting" and then water down or alter your position. You don't need to throw in compliments which many "free" women take in lieu of cash as if it is the free woman's currency
