For me I slept better, and my anxiety and worries disappear. I think we really exists on this world not to go to work, have some money, pay the bills. We exist to interact with each one.
It always eases my mind and let’s me know there are gentle things in the world to contrast against the cruelties we see every day on the news.
After divorce from a 15 year marriage it's helped to trust again and to connect.
@Bles Cuddling by itself opened up my heart chakras to more mental awareness of what I truly need and want. I'm yet to get the physical satisfaction and rejuvenating sensation that comes from being touched or touching. For me it's the experience around the act of cuddling more than the act itself that matters more. That is the communication before, during and after. The other forms of interaction that involves touching someone physically or emotionally that adds to or diminishes the actual act of cuddling. It's the constant processing of one's thoughts and feelings around how communication and cuddling happens with the aim to make it more fun, more useful and enriching that helps me to improve. Giving myself feedback about what went well and didn't after each experience is one such way I seek to improve my approach to cuddling itself. I'm learning how and what not to communicate during a Cuddle. I'm learning that I don't need to have a regular Cuddle buddy to feel enriched. That I don't need to even cuddle in a bed or on a couch to feel good. That sometimes all I need is a good old conversation with someone who makes me feel heard, understood, acknowledged and unjudged. And who can give a good long hug when it's done. And still feel whole and kind enough to keep in touch now and then. I've learnt to keep an open mind and flexible attitude. As a Cuddle can occur in so many ways, mean so many things to so many different people. So if it's one thing that has gotten better it's my approach. I'm a lot more flexible and compassionate toward my needs. I'm still working on communication: the art aspect of cuddling. But the science of what each person needs from it and most importantly what I need for me is something I've totally embraced. Just being more mindful and aware of who I'm with and what I'm doing and how I feel about it and what I truly need over time has been the real improvement for me.
@NewGuy711 I came here the same way 15 yr marriage just went poof. I think I cried more after divorce than my entire life combined. But no matter how heavy the darkness, light will return in your life. (Idk, it may already have ) I wish you the best dude
Peace
Cuddling has allowed me to get close to other human beings again. Some difficult experiences in my past made any kind of intimacy hard. But cuddling feels like a safe space, and it's so good to meet other people who also need that space.
Plus, I sleep so well after a long cuddle
It saved me from committing suicide.
@ILikeWarmHugs Glad that it did!
It's sort of a pause/reset button for me. It's an opportunity to just escape stress or noise or concern and just BE. You get closeness and acceptance and trust and comfort, especially with a repeat cuddler. I do it infrequently enough so that I miss that person in a healthy way and I'm just thankful for each time I see them.
@snuggleme123 thank you. Me too!
Reaching for this guy's hand really improved my life a few weeks ago. He had an involuntary twitch that looked to be the result of a lot of child abuse. He was always fearfully looking over his shoulder at some imaginary person. He was very kind and used active listening techniques throughout the workshop to stay connected to what was happening, the result of severe ADHD. The workshop leader (who's also a therapist) picked up right away that people were uneasy.
As I was spooning with a woman I turned and asked if it would be okay for me to hold his hand. He surprisingly said yes. It gave me a jolt. He thanked me after for being soft and considerate rather than... he made these kind of husky gestures and failed to come up with a word.
I got such a surge of oxytocin from that simple handhold compared to everything else that went on that night. It stuck with me all week and it has me looking forward to the next workshop regardless of who's there and who I end up cuddling. For sure this is now a regular event for me and a huge improvement.
Assuming I'm not cuddling with somebody carrying an illness, it helps me stay healthy. When not cuddling, I get sick about once a month. When cuddling regularly, I hardly get sick at all.
I really like not being sick.

It has improved my self image and reduced depression. After 20+ years of marriage, cuddling helped me realize that it is not my fault that my wife has no interest in physical affection with me or anyone else.
I've only had one cuddling experience here so I can't say anything about my life in general -- but after that I felt an expansion/openness and a settledness that felt wonderful. I also felt a new increased warmth/openness toward strangers that resemble my cuddle partner. I'm already quite an open, loving puppy toward sentient beings, so that was remarkable and wondrous. I also noticed an increase in my natural touchy-ness with people, both familiar and unfamiliar. Since my goal in life is to be the most loaded-for-bear love monster of humanity that I could possibly be, this is good. I'm looking forward to all of what lots of snuggling does in this direction.
I’m not as lonely as before I joined this website .
@cuddlerforu24 exactly the same... unfortunatelly.
@Bles "touching someone emotionally" One of my happiest experiences was a young woman sleeping with me in my car, while I was driving. There was no physical contact, and no verbal interaction ; but I was emotionally rewarded by being their nearest human being, and trusted by them. Geoff
