Appointment television.

Does anybody watch tv on schedule anymore? Personally i don’t, with streaming, on demand and things like that. Both there are a few occasions there is a show that is attached to many people from week to week and part of daily discussion ie Game of thrones, the bachelor. Mine is Ray Donovan, me a few of my associates enjoy it and discuss it weekly, share our theories and critiques. So that being said i look forward to seeing this show as soon as i can, when it’s aired if not before.

Wouldn’t it be cool to have a cuddle partner paired with a program you enjoy? Now i also enjoy This is us and A Million Little things but i usually catch them when i catch them. But I think it be cool to have a program partner, it could even be 60 minutes or Face the nation(does that even come on?)

The only other type of program I’m front and center on time is boxing, i don’t think boxing a cuddling go together but maybe other sports, idk. What do you think?

    As far as scripted shows go maybe " The Walking Dead " still but I lost it for that series a couple seasons back. But I think you hit the nail on the head sports is the truest form of appointment television. Its probably the main reason anyone still has a cable subscription. The biggest television event every year is the Super Bowl ( coming up this weekend coincidentally ) so yeah sports is appointment television .. It has to be because its always live. Most other things are now kinda watch at your leisure. I DVR or stream all my shows to avoid watching commercials.

    The only things I watch on specific days and times are big sporting events (like the World Cup) where the schedule is pre-arranged beforehand. The last TV program I remember watching from week to week was Project Runway, where budding fashion designers create garments and one person gets eliminated each week. So if you skipped a week, you'd only know who was eliminated by who was missing. Nowadays, I pretty much only watch videos on YouTube.
